Evenin all! Had my works do this aftanoon/evening and I'm absolutely knackered, more so than usual! Somehow managed to drink my body weight in lemonade n took a mini bottle of wine (180ml) to add a splash which lasted me 6 hrs but did the trick of feelin like I had a drink! My colleagues were well impressed as I'm usually the piss head tht drinks the most!

Sorry to hear about ur oh's job empress hope he gets sumthing else soon. My Dh just had to reapply for his job due to a restructure but thank god he came out ok. Stressful times ((hugs))

kellestar I watched the nativity and I did indeed cry, it was when they were singing and my son was doing all his actions and singing really loudly like he said he would so I would hear him .

Hope everyone has fun at their parties. I'm not going to any this year because I find it impossible to enjoy myself this size haha. I can't get comfy stood up or sat down and I don't want to be ruining everyone else's night with my sulky face.
We have a big family party on Boxing Day that's been a tradition for years but I have a consultant appt on the next morning at 9am and as buses won't be running my DP needs to drive us meaning he'll have to stay sober too poor guy.
I'm really looking forward to my extra scan this Friday, another chance to see the baby and hopefully this time it'll wiggle like at 12 weeks instead of lazing around like it did on Thursday lol.

Ooh I think I may have found a pram. I've found a second hand icandy cherry travel system that seems to be in good condition. Has anyone used an icandy cherry and have any thoughts on how good it is? It's going for £250 second hand, does that seem like a good price for a travel system?

Any advice very welcome.

Morning all, hope all are well. My loving, sharing DP has given me his cold, which I now realise is horrific without taking all the pills I normally would! So been gargling salt water as the sore throat is the worst bit, any suggestions on clearing up the nose?

Teapig I paid £250 for a bugaboo chameleon with all the trimmings, which as I have continued to check eBay -as I am a saddo- does look like a good price. Not sure of the icandy tho in credentials, we went into a mothercare to play with brand new ones to help make a decision

Hope you feel better soon. I don't have any good remedies I'm afraid other than gargling with salt, that will definitely help with the sore throat.

Essex I used olbas oil. Just a bit on a tissue or putting it in a bowl of boiling water and inhaling the steam.

Hopefully as some people have said it will lead to something better. I was just panicked because he earns a lot more than me and the job was in our hometown whereas I commute a long way so his was the job to hold on to! Ah well, it's done now. Don't think we''ll be going to his work do tonight!

essex, did you get the carry cot with your bugaboo from ebay? Just wondering if second hand carry cot is ok to use given that mattresses need to be new in cots. I'm guessing it's fine as we'd use a moses basket at night but wondered if you knew if it's ok?

Essex feel your pain I have a full blown snotty cold :( I friggin love a lemsip or 20 when I have a cold and not being able to have all the lotions and potions is killing me!! I'm drinking hot squash with a paracetamol to curb the craving a tip I read on here was to cover your feet in vapour rub but when I asked the pharmacist about using it she said to only use it sparingly so I haven't tried it, I don't have sore throat but I do have the dreaded face ache there must be so much pressure in there hope you feel better soon!

DH has given me and DS his cold too, so feeling quite miserable. Coping with just paracetamol but have to drag myself out to work tomorrow.
Poor DS woke up coughing last night so much so that he threw up all over his bed, we spent the night downstairs, think I managed a whole 2 hours sleep!
Will hopefully sleep better tonight.

Giddy read through the hints and tips thread on here loads of people saying about the vapo rub on their dc's feet to stop coughing and stuff in the night and swearing by it! I'm dying to try it lol!
There another tip on there about the flappy envelope bits on baby vests, being there incase there is a poosplosion and you have to take it off downwards instead of over their head!!! Is that true?! If so I'm a total noob I did not know that and would have saved many an occasion of ds1 having pooey hair!

I put Vicks on his feet last night, unfortunately he vomits very easily so I knew it was coming!
He's too old for the envelope vests, but yes when he was younger and had explosive nappies I did the vest downwards, mind you it took me a while and a lot of baths with poo in his hair to figure this out

I also (still) put wipes in the microwave for 3 seconds as when they were old it used to make DS scream!
There's more odd things which I do which have just become the norm now DS was a very needy baby, and I'm lazy prefer the line of least resistance so gave into him a lot!

teapig yes did get carry cot but you can get a thicker mattress to go in it that would make it new and you can then use it for overnight use if needed. Meant to replace any second hand mattresses to prevent cot death but not sure why this is exactly, it's that fine line between thinking it's fine but not wanting to risk it!

Hoping those of us with colds are feeling better. I'm less ill than I was but still struggling to get out of bed. I've missed my staff night out, DNephew's birthday party and I'm supposed to be going to 'lunch with Santa' at a gorgeous nearby restaurant this afternoon but it's looking unlikely. Wish this cold would just do one now!

Me too Sneezy! Thought this flu was shifting but had a terrible night and woke up feeling worse! Desperately want to be better soon as its my first Christmas with OH xx
