Fluffeh and Missmuffet28 Thank you I know I am lucky to have such a wonderful friend.

Fluffeh I am hoping you will get to see your beautiful baby. It's quite interesting hearing about how you get by as you have been answerimg some of the questions I for one have certainly always had but never knew anyone to ask.

Missmuffet28 Look at you with your brilliant bargins, thats absolutly amazing I am sticking with my sentiment that there are alot of good amd generous people in the world.

Wonderful news about Mama and Alexander. If just on everyones good wishes and thoughts alone, they will surely be perfectly fine. They are strong.

ILoveNoodles · 13/12/2012 05:22

Sorry for the typos Xmas Blush

ILoveNoodles · 13/12/2012 05:26

Oh nearly forgot, although I've been feeling movements for weeks, my dp was able to put his hand on my belly and feel them for the first time about half an hr ago!
It's my sons nativity today he is a......sheep! Looking forwars to seeing that. I know all the songs he has been singing them non stop for the past few weeks!

aufaniae · 13/12/2012 10:04

jaqueline, hope you're OK, thinking of you xx

KelleStarOfWonder · 13/12/2012 10:36

jacqueline hope everything is alright. Same goes for apriltattooed haven't heard back about your visit to the specialist.

lovenoodles nativities are so sweet, get ready for some blubbing. Went to help my mum's school out with some face painting. Got all emotional watching them and they aren't even my children Xmas Hmm. DH thinks its vair hilarious at the moment watching me blub over things. DD said a good friends name properly for the first time and her little baby, it was so cute. It's a nice part of being pregnant, I am such a hard as nails type and never show emotion normally, so it's nice for DH to know that I am capable of tears [snot and dribble] Xmas Smile

DH can see my bump jiggling from kicks but can't actually feel them, it's quite funny really.

I knitted some little socks to go on our christmas tree. DD thinks they are for her and keeps trying to put them on... must make a pair for my little wriggler when s/he arrives.

My task today is to put things away in the house. I have a bad habit of putting things on the nearest available surface rather than finding a home for things. As it's DD's first 2nd Birthday Party on Sunday I'm trying to get the house a bit straight so I can spend Saturday afternoon making cake, pretty little sandwiches and a pineapple and cheese hedgehog.

JoRich77 · 13/12/2012 14:09

Congrats to Mama and Alexander. I had my 20 week scan yesterday and all went well. We werent sure about finding out the gender so were going to get sonographer to write in envelope but decision was taken out of our hands as buba was all curled up and sitting on feet. So its a surprise for us!

All in all feeling pretty good, went to pregnancy yoga for first time last night which was very relaxing. Def going to go back for that. Have hardly brought anything but have a long list and planning on hitting ebay and the Jan sales.

20w2d, due 30th April

Fluffeh · 13/12/2012 15:04

Had my scan but baby was lying in a strange position so I have to go back again next Friday to try again.
She said everything looks good but couldn't see the spine properly so we have to try again. They couldn't tell the sex 100% either but think its a girl.
It definitely ruined my "go buy pink or blue" shopping afternoon. DP joked it was being lazy like it's mum ha! He/she wasn't for moving though :(.

usernamegoeshere · 13/12/2012 16:16

ooooh congrats on both scans!

I had trouble at 12 weeks with baby position, tried loads but ended up having blood tests as baby was refusing to budge! thankfully at 20 weeks she had turned into a complete fidget and spent whole scan doing rolypolys.

I went pink shopping today... still bought nothing. I am officially a terrible shopper, though I did finish Christmas shopping (except 1 item) so at least thats done. Going to treat myself to chinese tonight though.

22+6

Teapig · 13/12/2012 18:46

Yay for more great scan news!

I my 24 week MW appointment next week, although I'll be 23 weeks as Christmas is in the way. Those who have had them, what happens at the 24 week appointment. Is it the usual handing in of wee and BP check? Do MWs listen for a heart beat?

toobreathless · 13/12/2012 19:10

Teapig general chat, blood pressure, check urine sample, feel tummy & listen to babies heartbeat.

I don't have a 24 week appt as a low risk second (or more) pregnancy they only routinely see you at 16 & 28 weeks.

Giddypants · 13/12/2012 19:24

Teapig saw consultant today for 24 week check up was usual bp, urine and heart beat check, she also checked the position and had a general poke around but think that was slightly unnecessary!

tattooedapril87 · 13/12/2012 19:59

kellestar i am still here! i just spend my time reading everyone else's comments..

2nd scan for twin1 heartbeat was on Monday and it all seems to have settled down which is great news.
we have to go back for another scan at 26wks to check that twin1 still developing properly and that his talipes is isolated and not the start of signs of a neuro disease.

im loving feeling the movements now-and my tummy is huge! the.guys at work like to.measure me around my tum every week and im putting on average an inch or so a week! eep!!

bunnygirl80 · 13/12/2012 22:43

Glad to hear of more good scan news. tattoo good news about twin's heartbeat

I was rudely awakened at 5am by baby hiccuping away for about 5 minutes. Took me over an hour to get back to sleep

OP posts:
KelleStarOfWonder · 14/12/2012 09:00

Tattooed glad to hear you are well and your babies Grin and you are feeling movements. We had a teeny pair of twins come into baby group wednesday, they were so sweet and snuggly. Mummy was glad for a hot choc and cake while eberyone went gooey over her little boys. That'll be you soon Wink

Hiccups too last night, this one seems very active 2am onwards... Confused worryingly as often their waking patterns on the inside are similar on the outside. This one is up and down all day. And it feels so violent, a real wriggler. DD was a fidget but can't remember her being this uncomfortable.

Came over all funny after DD's gymnastics class, so came up to have a lie downbat about 3.30 with cbeebies on the nedroom tv for DD. DH found us fast asleep snuggled up. I still felt awful so he fed, entertained and bedded DD while I slept through. Bump was just achey and I felt faint and sick. Feel better this morning.

22 weeks today!Grin

Missmuffet28 · 14/12/2012 09:57

Kelle please don't say that!!!! Mine wakes up as soon as I get in bed and keeps me up for ages!!!!!! Hmm maybe I should start changing my routine in preparation hehe going to bed earlier and stuff!

itsaruddygame · 14/12/2012 12:29

Another one hoping the wriggling pattern is not an indication of when he is going to be awake. Very active at night when I go to bed - still kicking at midnight and waking me up very early with a boot! Grin

Keep checking in for another mama update. They are both in my thoughts often and I am hoping they are both doing OK.

Teapig · 14/12/2012 15:34

Thanks for the heads up on the 24 week appointments.

So pleased to hear you had good news tattooed on twin's heart beat.

I have a Christmas do tonight and would like to wear my heels, I have some very high ones and some not so high. DH is horrified at the prospect of me wearing heels, he worries about things that I think are fine (has only recently been ok with me eating Helman's mayo). Is it ok to wear heels at this stage or is there a reason to stick with flats?

itsaruddygame · 14/12/2012 16:42

Teapig I did chuckle at your husband - mine can be a tad health and safety at times Grin I wore very high heels for our work do and to be fair I don't wear them v often so I am a bit of a liability. Just make sure you don't fall over!

Teapig · 14/12/2012 17:08

Thanks itsaruddygame, I will make sure I'm steady on my feet. My DH sounds similiar to yours, I'm given daily health and safety lectures which I suppose is quite sweet really.

Missmuffet28 · 14/12/2012 17:14

Wear the heel take the flats! Just incase you find your centre of gravity has shifted slightly! I'm useless in heels I'm one of them that can only walk in them when drunk not that I can walk in them better just that I think I can haha!
Your dp sounds sweet more than I can say for mine don't think he has cared less about what iv eaten, yes he said no way to alcohol and smoking but when it came to the dog crap in the garden or the cat tray it was a different matter......

EmpressMatilda · 14/12/2012 21:17

Ache, ache , ache. Wrists, elbows, forearms, right shoulder. Feeling the tug in hitherto unknown muscles in my sides.

DH has gone and got fired from his job. His good, well-paid job was the thing we were relying on. Arrrgh. Terrible timing. Xmas Angry

Lying in bed playing 1940s music to bump. It's about all my sanity can take.

On the plus side -24 weeks today, another milestone reached.

Have fun at your parties everyone. My work one was yesterday and I wore kitten heels and a lovely blue maternity dress that I got off ebay. It worked very well. The highlight was a drunk (female) colleague coming up to me and saying "I just want to say, your boobs are amazing, they just keep getting bigger!" Xmas Blush

SneezySnatcher · 14/12/2012 21:28

Oh no Empress I'm sorry. It's never a good time for these things to happen but the timing couldn't be much worse.

I'm still in a bit of a state worrying about PE. It seems ages until my next check (although it's only two weeks). I just want to know if my BP is still up or if it was a one-off. MW has said I definitely can't go to the MLU for labour and I'm worrying that I'll be admitted and induced like last time (plus the fact that my BP has gone up this early is worrying me).

In other (bad) news. My throat infection has spread to my ear so I'm now partially deaf. I've spent the evening sleeping and vomiting.

However, school finished today for THREE WEEKS! Hurray!

EmpressMatilda · 14/12/2012 21:38

Oh dear sneezy, what a horrible combination of things. So great that you now have a Christmas break to recover.

I am putting my woes in perspective now. DH seems philosophical about it all and is downstairs updating his CV. He has a good network of contacts in his field and has been contacted in the past about work so he is hopeful he will get something soon. I really hope his optimism isn't misplaced.

Trishstar · 14/12/2012 22:06

Hi Everyone!

empress hope your hubby gets another job sorted soon.

Good news on scans etc and tattooed good news on your twin scan hope ur next scan has more good news about twin 1.

I'm currently being beaten by the flu, as we can only have paracetamol I'm not doing well with it!

Have my next MW appt on Monday as its not open as much over Christmas. So my 24w appt is at 22w6d.

Haven't had any strong kicks since Monday night, just wriggly little boy keeping me up at night

Xxx

Teapig · 14/12/2012 22:59

Well I wore the heels, proper three inchers, and managed to stay on two feet so all good. Have just met up with a very drunk DH who was also out on a separate do and he is in a state shock that I wore my very high heels. Will now have to endure a drunken health and safety lecture on the train home.

Really sorry that your DH has lost his job empress. We were in a similar situation last year. DH lost his job just before Christmas and I was very worried but it all worked out for the best. Sure it will for you too. Try to stay positive and I'm sure you'll DH will find something very soon, sounds like he is in a strong position.

trishstar hope you feel better soon.
