Thought we should have a shiny new thread.

OP posts:

PurplePidjChickIsNotTheMessiah · 30/11/2012 12:03

It's to keep PidjChick's head warm on his due date or what FoD said [bgrin]

gilsbubbles · 30/11/2012 12:06

Yes it is indeed St Andrew day today[bsmile]
Have been telling junior that this would be a great day to be born, especially since we recon they were conceived on St Patricks day and have an Irish daddy and Scottish mummy

I've updated the stats list, maybe the other early arrivals would like to do the same?

Bellaboo123 · 30/11/2012 12:39

Good luck all those finishing work today...I found it really strange as I'm so work focused but really needed it as I was exhausted. You won't realise how tired you are until you stop!

spotty great news on Felix have they given an indication of when he can come home? Bet DD was pleased to see you.

I'm feeling bored too...loads I need to do for Xmas but just can't be arsed! Lazy cow!

Mw this afternoon, always uneventful as she's so cold and matter of fact...don't quite know what I want her to do BUT ?!?! I'll shut up!

clarella how ru feeling today? Nothing from the sweep?

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 30/11/2012 12:48

Walking up and down stairs a few times produces some odd pains! and a rather urgent need for the toilet ahem sorry about that tmi.

Maybe I'll spend the afternoon going up and down the stairs.

Finishes work today, blubbed like a little girl (didn't see that coming). Got lots of nice things for mini eggs and a massive card signed by everyone SmileSad. On th the next chapter in my life......not sunk on yet

WillYouDoTheFandango · 30/11/2012 13:31

Congrats Great Expectations and Seconds [bsmile] Are we all destined to have boys? There must be someting in the water!

I'm with you on the stinking cold Stacks and not a lemsip in sight! Also someone's coming to view our house tomorrow, I really cannot be arsed to tidy and we've started to decorate the nursery as we thought we'd be staying put [bsad]

Poor DH Utopian hope he heals quickly.

Ellie my consultant was lovely and more than open to discussion about what I wanted, so there may be hope yet? (She told me to tell her to bugger off if I didn't want induction etc.) Just make sure it's a discussion rather than them telling you what to do.

Glad to hear Rafa and Felix are doing well Spotty and Pidj. Are you home now Spotty? Does Felix have to stay in for a little whlie?

Last day at work today so been mad busy for a few days. Just caught up on everyones news, but have promptly forgotten most of it. I promise to keep up better after what's looking like a busy weekend. Bring on the maternity leave!

ISpyPlumPie · 30/11/2012 13:55

Congratulations Great Expectations Thanks. Agree with everything that's already been said about Boris being in the best possible hands.

Only one afternoon of work left - something urgent's come up to keep me busy for a bit, and tbh I'm glad as was seriously starting to clock watch. Will miss collegues but not the toddler-wrangling/battling with traffic involved in getting here.

kate2boysandabump · 30/11/2012 14:15

Seconds Congratulations!! That all sounds a bit fast and shocking. Fabulous name too.

GreatExpectations Congratulations on your new arrival. Hope you get to him soon.

Emily At least there will be no more commuting for you and you have lots of lovely things for minieggs.

Sorry for all of those that are bored being off work. I haven't worked since July Blush so I'm used to it now. I have a nice tidy house and a freezer full of dinners.

The midwife came this morning. My BP is still up a bit, but my swelling has come down and I feel much better. However, I had protein in my urine and potentially have a UTI. Anyway, seeing as I had been having mild cramping she said she'd do an internal and a sweep to see how things were. So, I'm already dilating and she said the baby's head is perfect for my pelvis. How she can tell that with 2 fingers I don't want to give too much thought to Shock She even gave an estimated weight of 9lbs Hmm We'll see. She advised an evening of curry and romance, DH is very pleased Grin

EggsMichelle · 30/11/2012 14:59

Haha curry and romance, those are two things that just wouldn't work together in my house hold! Been to the Christmas market and Chinese buffet with DH and MIL, was lovely to get out and not come home with swollen legs, but had some shocking belly cramps walking back to the car, got the MIL very excited and had me nearly doubled over in pain (if I could double over!). All settled down now I'm home and been to the toilet [bconfused]

MaMaPo · 30/11/2012 15:11

Hooray for everyone's last afternoon at work. Slightly sad I missed my own, having to rush off after one of our meetings to go to the hospital and get checked out, but now that I'm off I'm not too concerned. Some of my favourite people I work with are off anyway, either on maternity or sick leave. However - no presents! Angry (Joking!)

Very glad my BP stayed down today so I can lounge at home. Precious little lounging though - I am watching tv and ironing shirts (while sitting down). Usually my husband does them but given he's been working such long hours it seems fair. Might then unpack my pram, which has been sat in its box since it arrived about 3 weeks ago. Though on reflection, it's nicely tucked out of the way where it is so I might just leave it.

Bellaboo123 · 30/11/2012 15:58

Glad things have settled down mama

I want Chinese (stomps feet!)

Back from MW and I'm now 1/5 was previously 3/5 last week so she said LO has flown down!

She recommend osteopath for my back so am going to try tomorrow.

Hope everyone is feeling ok...who's next!??!?!?

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 30/11/2012 16:09

Well my walk only appears to have had an impact on my digestive system. I know it could be my body clearing out but I really don't wanna get my hopes up. Getting really fed up of being pregnant now. Esp as I can't even eat nice things! Grrrr!

Sorry I'll take myself to the sobbing sofa.

OP posts:
emilyeggs · 30/11/2012 16:10

If you poo your self during labour, it seems to me curry should be the last thing we eat Blush poor midwives Grin

Ps, that's probably the first time I've started a sentence with if you poo yourself

MyDaydream · 30/11/2012 16:19

kate enjoy your curry and romance tonight. Hope it does the trick for you.
I want lasagne but can't be bothered making one. I really seem to have lost my appetite this week, I'm more forcing myself to eat than wanting to.
Supposed to be going out with the in laws tomorrow for lunch but I'm dreading it for so many reasons. Tempted to lay the pulling a sickie ground work tonight so I can get out of it tomorrow!

giraffe213 · 30/11/2012 16:22

Yes, I wonder about the wisdom of eating a curry when labour could be imminent! Plus all the heartburn - is it worth it?
I keep thinking my body is starting to clear itself out a bit but nothing else is happening... maybe baby's head is just getting in the way of having normal bowel movements? It does feel like it's pretty low down, got to wait nearly another week before I see the midwife again though (unless I see her at the hospital first... can only hope!).
I'm also getting unreasonably annoyed with people politely asking "how are you doing?" because I feel like they're asking whether I think I'm going to go into labour soon or not... probably not thinking that at all just that it's all there is on my mind!

Cookiesandcoffee · 30/11/2012 16:27

Quick check in (have been manicly nesting - didn't think I could manage anymore, but have been flat out all day minus DD!)
Congratulations greatexpectation and seconds. Hope Boris makes a quick recovery and will be home soon, meanwhile he really is in the best of care, and hope you can get some rest too, what a shock for you.
All these boys!!! Come on team pink! I wish I could say I would be next but she's deffo comfy in there. Angry I want baby snuggles!
Hope you've been getting more cuddles spotty
stacey I feel so sorry for you, I'm on desperate attempts too! Even upped my bedroom game and still b'all. Cleaned out every kitchen cupboards today .. Nothing!
I feel like maybe kate could be next?!

December 1st tomorrow... Come on babies!! Smile

Terrywoganstrousers · 30/11/2012 17:03

Mydaydream- you've just decided our dinner for us! I did have a pan of bolognese sauce on the hob but am now going to be forced to make it into a yummy lasagne!
I did write a really long post earlier today but the iPhone app seems to have swallowed it.
Feeling grotty with a cold today, and horrible back pains. DP also has the cold which makes him infuriating and he will do his sad puppy dog face if I ask him for a back massage Hmm

FriendofDorothy · 30/11/2012 17:13

I have finished work.... hurray! Tonight I am off to an NCT sale.

Thinking about the stats list would it be worth updating the stats in order of delivery, might be interesting and easier to read?

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 30/11/2012 17:20

We had lasagne yesterday. I was even clever and rather than eating the leftovers for lunch today I froze it so we have something in the freezer for when baby comes. Lol

Supposed to be going to a friends to watch the boxing tonight, gunna have to take my birth ball. 3 mid 20s guys and me bouncing on the ball, I'm in for a ribbing I think.

OP posts:
kate2boysandabump · 30/11/2012 17:53

She recommended the curry because i'm a bit constipated. Everything needs to clear out before labour.

The boys were an hour and a half late back from their theatre trip. They are hungry and very grumpy. That makes 3 of us.

HoneyMum21 · 30/11/2012 18:08

Completely random but meant to agree with spotty ages ago - I'd do it all again!

WillYouDoTheFandango · 30/11/2012 18:45

Fandango has left the building! Last day of work done. It just got scarily real!

Got 2 viewers booked in over the weekend now. Came home to find my mum had popped round and cleaned my entire house, feeling extremely guilty now!

Bellaboo123 · 30/11/2012 19:04

Congrats to all you ladies that finished work today!

honey question for you...are you breast feeding and expressing? That's my preferred option but BF workshop told me I shouldn't do it as it confuses baby and makes then lazy etc etc etc! Please tell me it's working for you and they are just being OTT!

Also what pump have you got...sorry for the 20 questions!!! Anyone else's input welcome!

MaMaPo · 30/11/2012 19:16

Aw, just spoke to my lovely 92-year-old grandad over Skype - he lives in NZ and my dad is visiting him so got it all organised. He had a stroke 12 years ago and can't really speak, but he's the most lovely person. Just love him to bits.

I don't know what gender baby we're having, but now I kind of hope it's a boy as we'll probably give him my granddad's name as a middle name. And I hope it comes soon so my dad can explain it all to him.

Bit teary now... family is too far away.
