Hormonalhell · 29/11/2012 21:34

Aha so that's why u called Seconds!!!! Grin Congratulations on the birth of baby zachariah. Over on the jan thread the girls outweigh the boys so am glad I joined this one Smile.

Well my pram never arrived and waited in all day Angry apparently the manufacturer thought I'd not paid for it although Mothercare confirmed their records said I had!

giraffe213 · 29/11/2012 21:37

Congratulations Seconds! Thanks Yes, lots of boys... I'd be happy to break the cycle and have a girl especially if it means I can be next Grin though DH may have other ideas.
Alison glad the doctors are happy with heart beat etc, sounds like you're being well looked after. And good news mamapo on being allowed home, think I missed that one earlier.

pmgkt · 29/11/2012 21:42

It was my last work day today, just 4 weeks left now

PurplePidjChickIsNotTheMessiah · 29/11/2012 21:48

Yes thanks, Clarella, dp coped with nearly 2 hours of shopping (although 20 minutes was in the baby change room of Mothercare while R fed!) We got him a bouncy chair and a fleece sleepsuit to wear in bed while he's too little for his sleeping bag, and i have a new shirt :)

My new little citizen is feeding up ready to sleep all night Wink

CODwidow · 29/11/2012 21:56

Congrats seconds loving all the baby news Grin
Less than 2 weeks til due date now so all feels so near and with the last few days of tightenings getting more regular and painful defo seems the end is nr. Had a mad clean today and did the food shopping so all is ready but feeling a little sad that it's almost over.

MaMaPo · 29/11/2012 22:20

Great news Seconds - hearty congrats.

Been so nice to be home today - and my husband was home by 6.15pm which is unheard of! So we had some nice bonding happy time, cooked some delicious Chinese food and I'm going to sleep wonderfully (I hope, after a 2.5 hour nap today). Then off to check BP at the hospital tomorrow morning - hope I get the all clear for the weekend.

Pidj, how lovely to have a citizen! I still need to do some research to see if bean is eligible for a UK passport. Hope so - would come in handy! I'd quite like one myself.

Sleep well, everyone!

Secondsop · 29/11/2012 22:36

Hello all, thank you for all the lovely messages. Good news is that after the formula feed his blood sugars were at a good level, so he's with me now on the maternity ward. Sleeping like, well, a baby. Am going to put him back on the boob (whether or not he wakes up for it) in about hall an hour; his blood sugar will be tested before that feed.

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 29/11/2012 22:50

Aw glad he's doing so well seconds!

Had to express this evening, my boobs were hurting. Feeling much better now!

Getting bad stabbing pains in my cervix shooting up Sad has anyone had this? Crampy too and tightenings.

Think I'm panicking cos home alone tonight.

JoJoB77 · 29/11/2012 23:14

Congratulations seconds! Smile

JoJoB77 · 29/11/2012 23:17

Im having similar pains hormonal. Stabby pains which make me yelp or take my breath away. Also having tightenings in lower part of bump accompanied by a dill ache.

My DH is in london tonight but luckily im staying with parents tonight so not compltely alone.

Im guessing the baby could be pressing down which is causing the stabby pains Smile

cherrypiew3 · 29/11/2012 23:24

Congratulations Seconds

Hormonalhell · 29/11/2012 23:38

Yes jojo just been to visit Dr Google and says it just the baby's head or even the fingers Shock

Guess I'm getting ready and so is Bubz Smile

ellliebelle · 29/11/2012 23:50

seconds great news so pleased for yoy and another lovely name :)

spotty hope you get a good nights sleep in your own bed tonight anf great news about cuddles and removal of oxygen

Ive had a crap day :( went to diabetic clinic and for growth scan this morning scan was good nice to see baby amd was funny when i saw his/her knee move and felt kick at the same time

Then saw diabetic nurse (consultant wasnt in) she was happy with scan results and blood results and has made me an appointment with consultant next week to discuss home birth as she says no one under this consultant jas ever requested one and he always has all patients on sliding scale insulin drip in labour

Then saw obs consultant who was great till i mentioned hb then said growth scan showed slightly more growth than expected (they only measured tummy so dont know how they can tell if this is in proportion) she measured my bump said that was normal then felt baby and said it felt big any how she has booked me in fora further scan at 39+3 when im sure they will try and convince me to be induced

So all this took 3 hours and it was now 1 o clock and they decided they wanted to do a trace on ADU bit didnt have a bed till 2.30 so i had to dash about sorting out more childcare for the dd's :( glad they had already taken my blood pressure by now any way trace was all good whichbis main thing and i am now feeling a bit more relaxed

37 weeks on monday so late night sex on sunday and a bit of hiking on monday i think :)

Sorry for self indulgent post butvreally needed yo offload how crap today has been :(

ISpyPlumPie · 30/11/2012 00:04

Congratulations Seconds Thanks and welcome Zachariah!

Spotty - wonderful news about cuddles with Felix, sounds like he's doing really well.

MamaPo and Kate - glad that things are ok and you've been able to go home.

Utopian - hope your DH's hand heals quickly.

Ellie - sorry to hear about your crap day. Must be really frustrating to be getting mixed info re: growth scan and not being clear how it might impact on birth choices. Hope you get some more answers after the next scan (or things kick off by themselves before then). Good news about the trace though.

Really should go to bed - last day in work tomorrow, but think it'll be a quite one due to manic nesting last week meaning I've pretty well done everything I need to now. Baby still not getting message though!

Secondsop · 30/11/2012 01:03

Good news is that before his last feed Zachariah's blood sugars were just about ok, so now we need 3 good pre-feed readings to be ok.

elliebellie re your home birth, it's funny how these things work out - I thought I'd have a highly medicalised planned experience with a doctor present and an epidural as recommended by the anaesthetist, but ended up with a mad dash wheeled down a corridor while the midwife and student midwife had to hold up their scrub trousers as they ran, no monitor (I don't think) and only gas and air! (Which, can i say, i found did sod-all in terms of pain relief although it did give something to focus on breathing-wise). No oxytocin drip, no catheter, no tubes in my hand or anything.

Walnut8 · 30/11/2012 04:24

YAY! Huge congrats seconds!!!!!!!!!! what a nice birth story too and a great name. And sounds like he is doing so well. I bet you are glad that it is over (and not a weirdo like spotty and wish to do it all again Wink).

I'm getting ready for induction next Thurs. PILs ready for Thursday evening (had a wobble about handing over DD to them like it was the last time I'd ever see her Confused Crazy). So more good induction stories please!

Not so hot here today but very humid. Went to DD's dance class this morning as I knew it would be the last time I would make it for a while and almost passed out. Friend there was very concerned, said I was almost dripping in sweat and made me sit down. stacey (i think it was you who asked?!), I live in Australia.

Alison thats a bit worrying about the fluid? I hope all is okay. We are doing our tree tomorrow!

ellie sorry about your shit day Sad I know it's crap, but at least baby looks to be happy and healthy and growth is good.

spotty yay for cuddles! Hope he is continuing to improve. Did you stay again tonight?

GreatExpectation · 30/11/2012 05:53

So, it's been a very eventful 24 hrs for me. Yesterday morning after being concerned about reduced movement for a couple of days, I took myself down to triage, and was whipped into theatre within an hour for an emcs. Boris was born at 7:09, bizarrely my mum thousands of miles away from me in London tried to call me just as they were opening me up. He is so beautiful, but has a very rare growth on one kidney, and an enlarged liver. Eventually they took him off to Great Ormond St where they are doing some investigations now to decide exactly what's wrong, and how to help him. I'm
recovering over the other side of town, trying to get strong so I can be with my boys. I'm so grateful for the excellent care we're receiving.

Anyone been through anything like this?

Bellaboo123 · 30/11/2012 06:08

Wow great expectation congratulations on the birth of Boris, great name!

Never had any experience but can whole heartedly say he couldn't be in a better place. Focus on getting your strength back and then you can be by his side. I'm sure all will be ok and he's in the best hands at GOSH. Thanks

brooke89 · 30/11/2012 06:16

great expectation congratulations and welcome to the world little borris! Sorry it's been such a shock for you... I don't have any experience so hopefully someone will be along soon who does have. It's great that you've received such great level of care and I know they'll be doing everything they can for borris. Wishing you both a speedy recovery and hope you get to see your boys soon

Secondsop · 30/11/2012 06:39

Congratulations greatexpectation and what a marvellous name for a boy! As others have said, Boris really couldn't be in safer hands right now. I hope you have a speedy and safe recovery x

pmgkt · 30/11/2012 06:44

Well done great expectation. Keep us updated with his progress.

Walnut8 · 30/11/2012 07:12

wow greatexpectation you must be in shock. Congratulations for the birth of Boris, and I'm so glad you are both receiving such great care. A shame your mum is so far away too - is she coming over? When were you due? So lucky that you picked up the reduced movement! I'm sorry that I don't have any experience in this, but sounds like he is in top care and I'm sure they will work it out soon. I hope you are getting some rest now and recovering as best you can

PurplePidjChickIsNotTheMessiah · 30/11/2012 07:18

Congratulations, GreatExpectation and welcome Boris Thanks
