Was gonna do tacos for dinner but might just get take away now Grin any excuse

MaMaPo · 29/11/2012 18:06

Emily, that's ridiculous. I hate commuters sometimes. And I am not sad not to have to do the peak hour change at Victoria ever again! I was always walking against the crowd and fighting off people who think it's completely fine to walk into a very pregnant woman on the wrong side of the corridor. I was always very liberal when elbowing people out of the way.

Spotty that's amazing news! I am really, really looking forward to a lovely cuddle when bean makes an appearance.

EggsMichelle · 29/11/2012 18:24

Whoopi for Felix, cuddles and no oxygen, he really is coming on!

I'm having home made pizza for tea, normally I make the base but since I can't get my rings off DH is cooking up a mess in the kitchen and doing it himself, very proud!

Saw the MW, next time I see her ill me over due, how exciting! Not booked in for a sweep yet though, I will demand that next Friday!

emilyeggs · 29/11/2012 19:06

Tell me about it mama don't even get me started about people texting in to the metro complaining about pregnant women getting seats! Apparently we shouldn't travel during rush hour and wanting a baby is only to fulfil our own selfish needs according to one passenger Angry

utopian99 · 29/11/2012 19:22

I read that too!! I like the idea of not travelling during rush hour - so as soon as you start to show should you be confined like the Victorians?

Secondsop · 29/11/2012 19:23

I had a baby! Zachariah. 6lb 10. Born 16.58, after 2 lots of gel, hours of pain that turned out to be the latent phase of labour (i did wonder why i was the only woman in the induction suite who seemed to be in any real pain) and waters suddenly breaking spontaneously in the induction ward while I freaked out not knowing what was happening, begging the midwives to help me and make it stop, thereby probably scarring for life a little boy in the room with his mother, the midwives running down the corridor with me in the bed, telling me not to push and then him appearing 40 mins after waters broke. No time for epidural!! I'd had a shot of pethadine to help me with the pain from the post-gel cramps, not realising how close to the end I was (went from 1 to 10 centimetres in what was presumably a matter of minutes, surprising everyone especially the midwives) but no time for anything apart from gas and air. Baby is beautiful - temperature a bit low which may be down to hypoglycaemia so he's under a heat lamp in his cot having a snooze and making adorable noises, but we've both had a cuddle with him and he had a feed off my breast (and my husband tells me that when I was in the induction suite begging for help at the end, my boob had begun to leak, and the boy knew what he was doing in terms of latching on). Husband very emotional and cried a lot. I'm doing fine- a fair bit of stitching after a tear, prob a bit in a state of shock after how quickly it all happened in the end and how not-to-plan. But, we have a beautiful beautiful boy.

Argh on another note I've just expressed but my boobs are still rock hard. I can't bare to carry in because it hurts. My milk still isn't in properly getting about 20ml each session

EggsMichelle · 29/11/2012 19:44

Congratulations Seconds and welcome Zachariah! That does sound all very sudden.

2blessed · 29/11/2012 19:44

Big congrats seconds

Secondsop · 29/11/2012 19:47

His blood sugar is low - 1.8. He needs a formula top up as, although he fed off my breast, I'm not having any joy expressing any now.

Hope you get home Emily - did you get one of those tube bump badges?

Well nine hours tramping about - up n down the Baltic (ok inc 3 hours with a friend for lunch) but then lots of wandering round town a few presents bought bad met dh to scoff a hog roast at the xmas market and even popped into where my capoeira group train to say hi and bye - though was tempted to jump about with them for a bit! our other pregnant capoeirista popped yesterday! A little girl :) I'm sure my cervix has had a hammering today! Quite a few low determined tightenings bordering on cramps this evening as wandering about rather than higher bhs so who knows but prob just over doing it!

FriendofDorothy · 29/11/2012 20:57

Congrats seconds. I am getting excited and impatient now!

utopian99 · 29/11/2012 20:58

Congratulations seconds! All these boys makes me worry ours will turn out to be a surprise girl as the quota will have been used up.. (obviously not fussed as long as it's healthy but have been blithely treating him as a boy as that's what we were told!)

clarella dh is okay now,.hand is possibly not broken but dislocated so all strapped up which has the same effect but hopefully faster recovery.Lots of scrapes and mess though..

AlisonDB · 29/11/2012 21:00

Great news about Felix Spotty, glad he's doing so well and you got cuddles!!

Massive Congratulations Seconds, and Welcome to the world Zachariah!

Utopian hope your DHs' hand heals quickly!

I had a scan this morning and was hooked up to the CTG machine for nearly 45 minutes,
Dr's are happy with his heart beat and the umbilical flow,
But there's been a decrease in the Amniotic fluid since last week, so now I have another scan and ctg on Saturday, and Monday and Wednesday next week & if I start leaking or feel less movement I'm to go straight in.
Am not due till the 18, but I can see him being born before then! Maybe even as early as next weekend! (If they choose to induce me)
I will be 38 weeks on Tuesday so I'm not worried about them inducing me.
But just in case we got the tree out of the loft today and DS and I put 1 of the trees up tonight, the other 2 will do tomorrow and Saturday!
