Congratulations seconds and Great Expectations. GE, I hope that you are able to get to be with little Boris really soon, and that you can get the rest you need for now. As everyone else has said, Boris couldn't be in safer hands.

emilyeggs · 30/11/2012 07:27

Wow! More wonderful news! Congratulations great hope you are recovering well. I Eco the others, he is in the best place x welcome Boris Grin

EggsMichelle · 30/11/2012 07:31

Congratulations GreatExpectations, welcome to the world Boris!

pmgkt · 30/11/2012 07:34

Another boy too! Are there any girls out there?

Mummycox · 30/11/2012 07:44

Congratulations GreatExpectation and welcome Boris!

Our niece was born at at Guys and taken to GOSH, she's 4 now and still sees them for treatment now. They really are the best hospital with the best staff so he's in the best hands.

Keep us updated with his progress? And for now get your strength back as quickly as poss so you can be with him.

AlisonDB · 30/11/2012 07:53

Congratulations Grest expectations, and welcome little Boris,
He really is in very very good hands, hope you make a quick recovery so you can join him,
;-)

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 30/11/2012 07:59

FriendofDorothy · 30/11/2012 08:12

Congratulations greatexpectations. It seems like every time I go to bed someone has a baby!

I am excited as it is my last day at work. I am also knackered!

GreatExpectation · 30/11/2012 08:31

Thanks for your kind and reassuring words guys. My DD was Dec 15, so he was ready to meet the world and already a good size at 8lb. I'm recovering really well- its surreal what they can do to you and how quick you can recover. My tummy was opened for goodness sake! My parents are coming over from Perth (Aus) - the plan was to come on the 14th but depending on what happens over the next 24hrs they might come sooner.

The moral of the story is- if you notice a change in movement, get monitored ASAP. I hesitated going in but in the end it was lucky I went when I did as he wasn't happy.

He is named after his Daddy's grandfather (Boris) and his Mummy's grandfather (Henry). Not the floppy haired mayor of LondonGrin He's very very cute!

MyDaydream · 30/11/2012 08:47

Congratulations seconds and greatexpectation, we have some great names on this thread already. Hope both your little ones are doing well. great I'll echo what everyone else has said and say he's in great hands and wish you both the very best for speedy recoveries.
Wonder who's going to have the first baby girl to break the boy trend.
Good luck to everyone who's going in for last days at work today, hope you have lovely relaxed days to ease you into maternity leave.
After being so exhausted yesterday I still struggled to get to sleep and am wide awake already feeling nauseous and heartburny, although think its the heartburn making me feel sick.

MaMaPo · 30/11/2012 08:54

Congratulations GE - brilliant news. It's wonderful that any issues little Boris has were picked up so quickly so they can address them straightaway. And well done you for seeking advice - sounds like things couldn't have gone any better, all things considered. And a lovely little boy! I am a bit Envy - how gorgeous.

Right - off to hospital for BP check. Might actually finish my hospital bag before I go in, just in case...

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 30/11/2012 08:55

I think my thermostat may be broken Hmm I thought I was having hot flushes last night but turns out the thermostat was just not clicking off. My house is like a sauna. I really enjoyed going out this morning even though it's minus temps and frost on the ground. Coming back into a stuffy house isn't the best though!

I don't really know what to do with myself today. No children until 4.30 as they both have after school clubs, but I have no car.

PurplePidjChickIsNotTheMessiah · 30/11/2012 09:24

Stacey - walk, bath, sleep! Plus any nesting that might be tricky with littlies underfoot "helping" :o

No sleep, just constant feeding all night today we will be making concerted efforts to keep R stimulated and awake to try and reverse his day/night mix up. Health visitor coming at 10:15

annelid · 30/11/2012 09:42

Congratulations seconds and greatexpectation!!

EggsMichelle · 30/11/2012 09:48

Vets with the cat, then out with mil, then vets with the dog! Feel like death with this cold, and DH being pathetic with a migraine In bed when I need him to be hoovering. I want to go back to bed :( can I join you Pidj on the sofa, I have posh biscuits!

HoneyMum21 · 30/11/2012 09:49

Congratulations GreatExpectation.Sounds like Boris is in the best place. Hope you are able to be with him soon.

2blessed · 30/11/2012 10:13

Congrats GreatExpectation, GOSH is a great hospital! You so made the right decision to get checked out.

Its my last day at work today and I am feeling so emotional. I can't wait but I am just so used to the routine of getting up and going to work. I've got plenty to keep me occupied until LO arrives but it will be strange. Colleagues here are and have been so lovely to me and I will miss them. WOn't miss the commute though!

Now who was it that mentioned a burrito stall in Victoria? Whereabouts is it, might pop to it at lunchtime or take one home for dinner - yum!

cherrypiew3 · 30/11/2012 10:24

Congratulations GreatExpectation wishing you both a very quick recovery.

Spotty Hope things are still going well.

Lots of you seem to be on your last day of work today so enjoy your day.

Not feeling great again today sick and dizzy lots of trips to the bathroom and feeling very emotional. Either dd is getting ready to make her appearance or my body is doing a great job at teasing me.

Stacks · 30/11/2012 10:31

I'm quietly dying of a cold in the background, so lots of lurking and not much posting.

Just wanted to say congratulations to the new arrivals.

SpottyTeacakes · 30/11/2012 10:45

2blessed it was me! It's along the right hand side as you're at the bottom of the stairs that lead to the upstairs shopping bit (hope I've made sense there I'm pretty tired!)

Just had the doctors round and it's all good news Grin he's upping his feeds and reducing his glucose and the dr couldn't hear a heart murmur today. He was wide awake and having a right old wiggle. His jaundiced looks a bit worse but I know that's easily fixed so I'm not too worried.

gilsbubbles · 30/11/2012 10:46

Make some space on the sobbing sofa.... Just been to see the midwife, my due date is Monday but junior isn't fully engaged yet and she thinks it'll be a while. I'm someone who needs to keep busy but have already been off work 3 weeks cause it was just too tiring.
No family or close friends nearby to keep me entertained and guess I'm just feeling lonely and frustrated. Trying to keep a brave smiley face cause my DP is just as impatient as I am and worrying about me too wouldn't be fair.... At least I've tracked down some Irn Bru to have with my cake on the sofa.

itsMYNutella · 30/11/2012 11:37

Greatexpectations Congratulations! I'm sure you'll be up and about in no time! Great news about little Boris, my cousin was at GOSH when he was born and they really really really are the best so you can guarantee he is getting the best care at the best place. But hope he is at home with you and family GE asap!

gils I know how you feel! I'm in another country (doing all this crazy birth stuff in a language I only started learning two years ago) and because I work freelance my companies have been winding down my hours since October :( in some ways it's nice; but I am bored!!!!! DP knows I need to keep busy and often tells me to take myself off for a walk (of course it's also bloody cold here) and get out and do this and do that...Hmm Anyway, without dwelling on it, I understand, and you know you can always come and moan here!

And you've just reminded me, some friends (half american half German) went to Scotland in the summer and I told them to try Irn Bru... they were not impressed [bgrin] but it still makes me chuckle.

PrunellaDeVille · 30/11/2012 11:55

gils DD next wednesday and i'm also consistently showing little sign of engaging. I've been being stoical about due dates and going over (though worried about eventual size) until yesterday an acquaintance who was due a week after me had her baby and i started getting all [benvy] about the lack of a queueing system. At least she'll have her hands full now and won't be on the ward at the same time as me which is a real relief [bsmile].
oh and DH is working 7 days a week for the next month, doesn't get home until after 10 each day so i'm with you on the loneliness too.
i guess we're all here to keep one another company and keep each other sane drive ourselves insane

( i like them but i don't get the scottish themed smileys - am i missing something?)

I think it's St Andrews Day Grin
