You're being very calm about it all Jojo, which is great, and kind of ironic for someone they're worried about having a fast heart rate Wink. Have fun with the dishy doctor who will hopefully tell you you were right all along.

FrustratedSycamoreSnowflake · 03/01/2013 11:13

I'm so hormonal. Our OT has secured charity funding for a SN car seat for dd2. I'm so happy and grateful I've welled up, I'm seriously going to blub. Good job DH answered the phone because I'd have blabbed to the guy. [blubbing eyes out emoticon]

Good luck with your dishy doctor jojo

Librarina · 03/01/2013 11:26

Hurray for having a lovely new car seat, and Hurray for dishy Doctors.
I'm back at work and NOT loving it. The library is FULL of chocolates and sniffly children and I'm hiding in my office avoiding both of them!

I get my blood results tomorrow, so I'll update on the Slapped Cheek issue then, however, I've Only Just Realised that my 20 week scan is next week! Bloody hell, we're half way through!

kittykatsforever · 03/01/2013 11:45

Ah frus that's lovely GrinGrin
How are you today Jojo?
What day next week lib? Mine is wed and I think frus is the thur! Are you finding out??

Lorelei353 · 03/01/2013 16:45

Ooh, scan round 2 approaching!

Mine isn't until 23rd Jan but I've a midwife appt. next week to keep me going. My 16 week appt. got postponed because of Christmas/NY so this is it, at 18+2 instead. Still my DH has managed to move his teaching work around to come with me, since it'll be the first time we hear the heartbeat (assuming she'll let us listen to it!).

kittykatsforever · 03/01/2013 17:26

You might have to ask her too but I'm sure she'll try if you'll be 18wks lor

Lorelei353 · 03/01/2013 17:27

Really kitty? I thought most folk round here told me that they usually listen to it at 16 week appt. She'd better or DH will be annoyed for moving his work!

kittykatsforever · 03/01/2013 18:16

She did at mine but I had to ask her to and she said its not regular practice as people worry if they can't find it but as I was 17wks too I asked her to try, think frus had to ask aswell and I remember someone being turned down?! But I think she will just you might have to ask her to!
They defo didn't do it at 16wks with my first.
P.s didn't say but hope everyone realised it was I kittens reverting to old name Grin x

Lorelei353 · 03/01/2013 19:30

Ooh bit worried now. Earlier in this thread everyone convinced me to bring DH to hear it! Hope it happens now.

kittykatsforever · 03/01/2013 19:41

I'm sure it will, don't worry Smile

FrustratedSycamoreSnowflake · 03/01/2013 20:30

She had the Doppler out when I went, but gave me the "we can't always hear it, can't refer for scan if no hb found" talk.
I asked her to try, but as i could feel movements anyway, so wouldnt worry if she didnt find one. (Which she did after a couple of tries).

I have a horrendous headache. Is there anything other than paracetamol that we can take?

Librarina · 03/01/2013 21:31

I had the Doppler at my 16 week appt, I was able to record it on my phone for DH. It was lovely for me because I wasn't really able to see the scan so the heartbeat is a really strong connection for me.

My scan is next Thursday which is actually 19 weeks. I'm not going to find out, I like surprises!

FrustratedSycamoreSnowflake · 03/01/2013 21:47

Same day as mine libra Grin
I hate surprises. Dd1 was an "unsure" and it drove me nuts not knowing.

but there are loads of gorgeous neutral small baby clothes (any other baby things) out there, creams and beiges and yellows, oh and the obvious whites.

Blending · 04/01/2013 10:23

Jojo hmmmm, dishy doctors.... Dont panic too much, hopefully Dr Lovely will put your mind at rest when you have a chat.

I have ecgs on and off and need to have a scan Echocardiogram soon. Just precautionary, but on Tuesday I was refered to the Cardio Obstetrician Clinic which to be honest is a waste of time as my heart is normal, my left ventrical stopped working properly when DD was born, but it was all back to normal-ish 14 months ago when we decided we wanted to try again.

I am grateful really, but with a Cardio Specialist, Thrombology Specialist, Twin Clinic and regular midwife it feels like an over kill!

I love the NHS, even with all its faults, and with us pregnant ladies they err on the side of caution. I'm healthy as a horse!

Saw the twin midwife on Tuesday and I will be scanned every 4 weeks from 20 weeks, and then see her.

Oh and I was told that a c-section would be at 37 weeks, so 26th May! Still a Gemini though!

Jojobells1986 · 04/01/2013 12:27

Dishy doctor is running late & I forgot to bring toys for DS! Oops!

OhThePlacesYoullGo · 04/01/2013 12:58

JoJo have fun with the dishy doctor. (Hope all is well with you).

Jojobells1986 · 04/01/2013 13:08

All ok! Dr Dishy was v reassuring & said I didn't need anymore checks as long as I didn't start feeling worse. Smile

FrustratedSycamoreSnowflake · 04/01/2013 13:53

Did he have your pulse racing jojo Wink

OhThePlacesYoullGo · 04/01/2013 14:34

Oh good; that's great news!

Blending · 04/01/2013 16:10

That sounds good! If there was any doubts you'd have been booked in to see the specialist pretty damn quick!

Lorelei353 · 04/01/2013 16:20

great news jojo. Nice to be reassured by Dishy Doctor.

OhThePlacesYoullGo · 05/01/2013 01:37

Can I have a little whinge? Between placements and studying and everything else going on, I am just so incredibly tired. It's 1.30am and I am still up working on an essay. BF and I are spending the weekend painting our new flat in between revision/study sessions. Next week is going to be super busy again and apart from Friday I will not be home before 9pm once. I am so exhausted it's unreal.

kittykatsforever · 05/01/2013 08:54

Ohtheplaces that sounds hard, so much to do and really so little time! It's really hard to have so much on your plate! How many weeks are you now? The tiredness does ease around 20wks for the next part so fx you won't feel do exhausted as that feels like an uphill battle! The positive when you've finished the flat is the lovely new home you'll have to start your family in but I do sympathise, is there any friends you can call on for a helping hand to give you abit of time out?

FrustratedSycamoreSnowflake · 05/01/2013 09:09

That's not good places, studying and pregnancy are hard work. I agree with kitty, is there anyone you can rope in to help you paint, have a last minute painting party, invite some friends round, give them a paintbrush and a drink.

I'm pre-nesting, or spring cleaning, but I prefer to call it pre-nesting I have my entire storage unit to go through, sort out my filing, throw unnecessary crap away, put not maternity clothes in the attic, etc etc.

kittykatsforever · 05/01/2013 10:22

I don't understand how we will be able to tell when nesting, when I start now I get urges to clean out cupboards and skirtings etc, keep hoping this is normal and not a pre labour sign, can't wait to confirm baby's ok on wed and defo a girl and will start sorting through bags of clothes etc although where I'll put them I havnt worked out Hmm
