Wow, VQ fantastic weight! Not a Grayson then? Lovely name, well done you Grin Hope you are feeling OK.

blonderthanred · 27/10/2012 17:45

Amazing news, congratulations VQ! Almost exactly a day before mine. Hope you are having a wonderful time getting to know him. I was very proud of myself for telling the Bounty woman we would be using cloth nappies. She looked quite put out!

applepieinthesky · 27/10/2012 17:56

Congratulations VQ He sounds lovely.

A productive day here. Picked up my travel cot I won on eBay - £10.50 and it looks like new. Bought another changing bag as DP wanted one that's not too girly that he can carry around. All stocked up on maternity towels and breast pads as well. Come on baby, we're ready for you now! Smile

StuntNun · 27/10/2012 18:36

Congratulations VQ glad to hear your good news.

Sorry everything's so shit for you Tits. My SIL was turned away by Ninewells in Dundee because they had no space (she was in early labour) so she drove up to Perth hospital where they let her in. Also, I was miles away from home today in Bangor today; if I had a problem I would have gone to the nearest hospital not the one I'm booked in for. So there must be possibilities for going elsewhere. Can you get any extra help at home or with the kids? I wish I could come over there and help you out as you're clearly in distress. How can the hospital staff treat you so shabbily?

Welcome Jacob! Congrats vq you sound full of the newborn happiness is wonderful.

What's it all about. All day achey pelvic area and pubic bone and constant rock hard bump. It is like early contractions but is constant rather than waves. I want to burst into tears constantly and my lower back is sore. Sad

Is it just more of the delusional? Or could things be about to kick off? Confused

shanelle5 · 27/10/2012 18:42

Yay for vq need photo on FB please when you have chance and full birth story Grin We just need horsey now, do hope it went ok for her and love to hear all the news and ongoing birth stories even though am very Envy

Really want to have my baby but really scared of giving birth. Anyone else feeling the same? Have been doing the hypnobirthing and yoga but still pertrified as it HUUUUUUURRRTTTTTSSSS! I know i know its worth it and its only one day out of your life which leads to lovely newborn snuggles but am a bit of a wuss especially hate the transition part.
Have done it 4 times so people keep saying to me well it cant be that bad if you keep doing it but its not that, just that your brain blocks out the pain very cunningly after so you forget quite how horrid it is. Sorry to any first time Mummies for being insensitive or scaring anyone, just wanted to voice fears and see if any others are feeling same x

StuntNun · 27/10/2012 18:53

Shanelle I had an hour of contractions last night, every eight minutes but irregular duration so I knew they weren't going anywhere. But it did make me think "I can't do this again". Silly me, I've managed twice before haven't I? And there will be a gorgeous baby at the end of it.

Shanelle l have felt the same all 3 pregnancies and know l would again if l went for no.4. For me l think it is partly the fact you never know how/when it will happenand no 2 births are the same. As you say tho it is just 1 day (or so) and totally worth it. At least your body knows what its doing and hopefully that will make things quicker and easier.

DebussyHead · 27/10/2012 19:21

Congratulations VQ and all the other new mummies!!

DesperateHousewife21 · 27/10/2012 19:34

Congratulations vq! He sounds lovely and a v good weight.

Bluetinkerbell · 27/10/2012 19:43

Congratulations to all the new mummies! :) I'm hoping to hold out till November... Due date 18th, wouldn't mind baby to come slightly earlier, but would like to get DD1's birthday over with on 31st first :)

DesperateHousewife21 · 27/10/2012 19:44

I'm scared, my tummy keeps going rock hard and I've got near constant dull period pain.

I knew I shouldn't have tried to see if any colostrum would come out inthe bath. Ow :(

georgee · 27/10/2012 19:46

Hurrah for your lovely new boy VQ, he sounds gorgeous and I love his name! You sound very happy. What a brilliant weight!

Another one with tightenings today. Fairly pleased as although it's nowhere near, I know it, I don't remember getting them last time and I hope this means that my body will be a bit better in terms of being geared up. It seemed a bit clueless last time! I would LOVE to go into labour naturally and am always very Envy when I hear about waters breaking and plugs being lost! Talking of which, I hope horsey's doing OK!

Doing cheese, bacon and leek pie tonight, dubbed 'shag pie' in my younger days by me and my friends as every time it was dished up, that night was the night! My dad proposed to my mum after eating it too (which was a roundabout way of getting her into bed as they were pretty religious and didn't believe in extra-marital sex - at least that's the impression they've always given us!). However, very much hoping it doesn't work its usual magic tonight - the logistics of it all with the bump, the tightenings, it just seems too much of a faff!! However, if I get to being overdue I'll be dishing it up every night! I'll give the recipe to anyone who wants it Wink.

DesperateHousewife21 · 27/10/2012 20:05

Thoroughly disappointed, seems it was poo related Blush although tummy still going hard.

Passmethecrisps · 27/10/2012 20:13

Never mind DH. I get wee related tightenings.

DesperateHousewife21 · 27/10/2012 20:21

Hmm not sure this does feel ever so slightly different...ill see how the evening pans out :)

kirrinIsland · 27/10/2012 20:22

shanelle I'm the same. This is my second and I knew I'd be much more nervous this time - there's a kind of blissful ignorance that goes with your first!

DH could just be a warm up? But if you do go into labour I'll be straight in the bath and expressing

Sophie I've been a bit the same today, and I'd love to think things are about to kick off but, in my care at least, it's probably just wishful thinking.

I've been trying to think back to with DD but I honestly can't remember - does the baby go a bit quiet before things start moving?

Passmethecrisps · 27/10/2012 20:33

Oooo! Well, Fingers crossed DH.

I am defo going 2 weeks over. Have decided. No arguments. May as well settle myself.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 27/10/2012 20:45

Had a soak in the bath, which relieved it all for about 10mins and now it has come back with sore lower back, light cramping and tightening in my bump, quite mellow but uncomfortable and definately there.

Peaky1 · 27/10/2012 21:28

Bah. I'm feeling nothing other than consta-feckin-pation after not satisfying the urge at an inconvenient moment earlier today. Serves me right but it has made me Angry. Eating fruit and had chilli with my dinner. I want a poo or a baby tonight!

DonnaDoon · 27/10/2012 21:29

CongratulationsVQ Welcome to the world Jacob xxxx

Peaky1 · 27/10/2012 21:29

Oops, can't even spell consti-fecking-pation right. The poo has travelled to my brain!

DesperateHousewife21 · 27/10/2012 21:33

I've been to the loo (poo!) four times in the last two hours, everytime I go it feels better afterwards then about 10 mins after the pain starts up again and the hard tummy.

I'm in bed now trying to ignore it.

Izzybuzzybuzzybees · 27/10/2012 21:36

Ooh sound promising sophia! You too DH!

DesperateHousewife21 · 27/10/2012 21:38

Really?? Argh I'm not ready I'm scared! Would it be a constant pain though?? It's like horrible period pain but not on and off like contractions.
