DS made me my lunch. In the oven. I will make a domesticated man of him one day!

georgee · 27/10/2012 13:59

... but MadameGazelleismymum you'll be wanting to watch Peppa, just to catch up with what your mum is doing! (Probably the Bing Bong song - we overdose on Peppa here too!).

Seriously, the odd quiet day doesn't matter at all, particularly as you're due soon! I keep having them and I'm weeks and weeks away ... Blush

FatimaLovesBread · 27/10/2012 14:12

Tits Are there no other hospitals other than the two in the same trust? You can go to any hospital you want, I could go to Leeds or Manchester or Barnsley if I really wanted.

Congratulations Tiaaaaa!

After my good nights sleep I couldn't get back to sleep when DH went to work at 6:30 so I got up, had breakfast etc then thought fuck that for a Saturday morning so went back to bed to watch tv. Ended up just neon woken up by DH coming home at 1:30 Grin
Am starving and craving a subway. Going to shower and make DH take me out. Reflux is still relentless though. Has some back ache and period pains earlier, all seems to be moving in the right direction. Anytime after Friday and im happy

GTbaby · 27/10/2012 14:28

Marking spot. Lets see if I can keep up Bear

Titsalinabumsquash · 27/10/2012 14:58

I have had no joy with trying to get hold of the supervisor of midwives, I've been told they will call me back when they can Hmm

Portsmouth (St Mary's) is fairly close by as is Princess Anne in Southampton.
How does it work though? If I called the 24hr number at the Portsmouth unit and explained how badly we have been let down by the local and the extent of the issue, are they likely to help or just advise on an apt with them next week if I wanted to move care?

I am also now genuinely concerned about what happens if I go into labour anytime before the induction date if I get no joy elsewhere, if they're full will I be turned away? Surely they must have a contingency plan when they reach capacity?! They have spaces for 9 labouring women in both local units, so if 18 women are in what on earth do they do?

TheDetective · 27/10/2012 15:01

Tits My best suggestion would be just to go there, and state you need to be seen. We would have out of area women at triage all the time - people go visit relatives etc, and still need to be seen.

You don't need to be booked there, but obviously it is better, but if you aren't getting any joy from where you are booked, then you can be seen as an emergency elsewhere.

If you were in labour and they had to close, they would direct you to the nearest open unit. There are systems in place for this.

DesperateHousewife21 · 27/10/2012 15:03

Me too I'm a bit lost!

TheDetective · 27/10/2012 15:05

Maybe someone with too much time on their hands should start a daily round up of posts Grin

MissMummy1 · 27/10/2012 15:08

I've got the heating on full and just had to light the fire. Shock It is FREEZING!

kirrinIsland · 27/10/2012 15:10

tits this all sounds unbelievable - I can't believe they can send you home when you are so unable to cope :( Time to follow detective's advice I think, at least that is something you can do today rather than waiting for pals on Monday.

madamgazelle we are having a similar day here, except with postman pat. I feel guilty but not enough to stop doing it

Wonder how VQ and horsey are getting on?

TheDetective · 27/10/2012 15:12

It is weird. I know it is cold. My feet feel cold.

But I'm still warm! Sat here in pj bottoms and vest top!

Weirdo! DS keeps asking me am I not cold. He is sat here in full pjs, dressing gown, bed socks etc!

TheDetective · 27/10/2012 15:14

See it is easy to give advice, because I know what I would do. But for someone to feel confident enough to follow it takes a lot. If I wasn't me, I'd be unsure what the hell to do in Tits situation.

georgee · 27/10/2012 15:16

Thanks for the 'It's cold' tip-off everyone! We're not that far from you MM. I don't feel it but I'm about to have a non-pregnant friend come and visit. She'll freeze! I'll put the heating on!

Much better to be preggers in the cold than the hot though I think. I remember being in late pregnancy in summer 2010, it was v v v uncomfortable and itchy and my feet looked like little balloons. Nothing like that this time.

TheDetective · 27/10/2012 15:42

Gutted. Twinges that turn in to needing a poo are not my idea of a joke baby...!

MissMummy1 · 27/10/2012 15:48

SIL was due here at 2, PIL at 3. No sign of either and SIL just texted saying they're leaving Aberdeen 'soon' (3 hours away on a good run). Unimpressed doesn't cover it! Well seeing they're his relatives, not mine!!

ShellyBobbs · 27/10/2012 16:28

Yeah but MM it's less time them mithering you the later they are.

DesperateHousewife21 · 27/10/2012 16:29

I haven't let dh put the heating on yet Grin we've just been to his mums house and it was like a furnace I couldn't breathe and was sitting there sweating.
My parents house on the other hand is a 3 bed semi Victorian draughty house where the only room that's warm is the living room when the wood burner is on.
So we've been brought up in completely different climates and it really shows on days like this!

georgee I was heavily preg in July 2010 and god was I hot. I used to sit at home in just my pants!

ValiumQueen · 27/10/2012 16:47

Sorry, posting before catching up...

Well, I have a baby who fits in newborn size clothes! Jacob Ian John was born at 3.38pm on thursday 25th October via C section. He is perfect! Very long, and skinny! Beautiful. Much better looking than the girls were for sure Grin. I came home this afternoon, and am sore but happy. He is a natural at feeding, and has kept me awake cluster feeding overnight to increase supply. He has needed a change of clothes on several occasions due to peeing everywhere. Mummy needs to get used to boy babies. I will post when I can, but with three kids now, my life is gonna be hectic! I look forward to reading what you have been up to.

ValiumQueen · 27/10/2012 16:47
