I still can't eat chocolate, this is the weirdest pregnancy I've had yet. Still attacking the bowl of fruit and I've just had a massive bowl of manderin oranges for my brekkie. I was reading one of the earlier threads (thread 3 in March) and someone said there had been a study about craving fruit and it's linked to boys needing more nutrition than girls in the womb. Will let you all know about that soon. Detective had a fruit and veg craving and she's having a boy.

Chunkychicken · 01/11/2012 09:12

I was going to big up the Morrck baby hoodies again (mentioned them about, Ooooh, 14 threads ago Grin) but kirrin beat me to it. They don't interfere with the straps and keep baby snug as a bug in a rug...:)

Was awake for 2+ hrs last night, making plans & working out what we need for baby/the home birth. Stupid brain.

Welcome Barmee. I'm on #2 too, only 37+3 though and hoping that everyone's 'predictions' of me not lasting until next weekend is true, feeling HUGE at mo.:)

Sophiathesnowfairy · 01/11/2012 09:12

kirrin a Morrck wrap is the last thing I have to get but I am waiting till pay day, which hopefully will be after the baby has been born Hmm

ShellyBobbs · 01/11/2012 09:13

I think I'm also the thinnest I've been in over 10 years (obviously not counting bump), I have cheekbones and actually have a set of pins I'm not ashamed of! Thanks you little buba Grin

Elizadoesdolittle · 01/11/2012 09:13

Yay happy November everyone. Would like baby to stay in over the weekend and then it can come anytime it likes. The earlier the better (apart from the 10th as that's my birthday and I don't want to share Smile) not that I'm being picky of course!

We didn't get any trick or treaters here. I live in a quiet cul de sac so they obviously can't be arsed to head off the main road which suits me. I wouldn't mind kiddies with their parents but it's the older ones that want money that I don't like.

When I went to pregnancy Pilates earlier in the week they had a big bowl of sweets so I had a mini crunchie in aid of you ladies and very nice it was too. Off to aqua natal tonight. Doubt they'll do the same thing!

MissMummy1 · 01/11/2012 09:14

Shelly I have a similar relationship with my dad. He was never interested in me when I was a child, openly told me it 'would be different if I was a boy' and then fucked off out of my life altogether when I was 10. He's made more of an effort in recent years and noone can understand why I still hold him at arms length. We have nothing in common, he doesn't even really know me, yet as this is his first grandchild he's desperate to try and make ammends somehow through him/her by playing super-grandad. I don't want my child to be too close to him as experience tells me my dad will only them down in the long run....

ShellyBobbs · 01/11/2012 09:15

Chunky Isn't it mad the things that go through your brain at night. I can't come on here within 2 hours of going to bed or I start worrying about everyone, I up for hours thinking about Tits the other night and I couldn't sleep when YW went into labour. The only thing that makes me have a sleep is knitting before bed, probably because it bores the hell out of me Grin

BarmeeMarmee · 01/11/2012 09:16

Thanks for the welcome Grin

As much as I'd love this baby out now I think my nesting instinct has well and truly hit-I'm looking round and seeing things I want to clean and rearrange everywhere! Not likely to happen with severe SPD and DS running about but I can dream! Keep thinking of things I wish I'd bought too.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 01/11/2012 09:17

Welcome barmee I am a 39+1 crazed mother of three. Hiding from two hysterical DDs who are causing havoc in the kitchen! I have given up and retreated.

Iheartpasties · 01/11/2012 09:21

Welcome barmee.

So funny what goes on in my dreams recently. Often wierd mn threads get tangled up in the craziness.

ShellyBobbs · 01/11/2012 09:21

Ah MM I had EXACTLY the same feelings when I had my first and true to form the old pattern of phoning, him saying he was coming round to see us, me staying in all day and then him phoning late in the afternoon with some shit excuse as to why he couldn't come. In the end I cut him off for 2 years, didn't speak to him when he phoned, didn't have anything to do with him. He learnt his lesson but I think that's when he first ACTUALLY realised that I really didn't give a shit about him and I was quite happy never to see him again. To be honest my kids aren't that arsed about him either, I don't say anything I really think about him round them obviously, but my PIL are absolutely fab and they are nana and grandad to them.

OMG I've never been this stressed about him coming round before, it has got to be the hormones as I'm usually so laid back!

ShellyBobbs · 01/11/2012 09:23

My kitchen ceiling is gross, I've been wanting to clean it with the mop for 2 weeks. It's never going to get done, my nesting is not all that strong Grin

Iheartpasties · 01/11/2012 09:25

Mopping the ceiling, oh wow, that would win a nesting award surely !!

ShellyBobbs · 01/11/2012 09:30

Haha Pasties, if I put a pic of it on FB, you would understand why, you wouldn't even put a gloved hand near my kitchen ceiling. It has not been cleaned in 9 years, is yellow with grease and has thick strands of dust hanging off it. I only noticed the state of it 2 weeks ago and could have died of embarrassment!

kissyfur · 01/11/2012 09:32

Morning laydees, and welcome barmee

37+3 here today too chunky, 2 weeks til ELCS! It can't come quickly enough tbh but still feel like I have lots to do what with Ikea bed fiascos etc. car seat is still in the loft despite numerous requests to DP to get it down! Think I might get one of those morrck wrap thingies

Carpal tunnel still driving me crazy!! Angry

We only had a couple of trick or treaters last night so quite a bit of chocolate left here Smile

Good luck with your dad today shelley

kissyfur · 01/11/2012 09:38

Hmm just seen the price of those morrck wraps! Not sure I can afford that

Iheartpasties · 01/11/2012 09:41

kissy Ikea beds seem wierd to me, they are not a standard size are they?

shelly hehehe. How is it you notice something you have been 'blind' to for years and then obsess with it?!

Horay its nearly the weekend, DD has much more fun with dh running around etc on teh weekends, I feel like I cant do much with her at the mo, just cant wait to get my body back and be able to chase her around a bit/run around with her.

kissyfur · 01/11/2012 09:50

No pasties they are bigger than standards beds, it's annoying. Despite having a kingsize mattress it seems we actually needed to order a double bed frame from ikea. Latest is that DP wants to sell the one we have on eBay and buy the smaller size! Hmm

I feel the same about not being able to play with DD as much, I just feel so massive now and too worn out to do much. Can't wait to have my body back!

glendathegoodwitch · 01/11/2012 09:55

hey fellow november droppers - i'm 38+5 and fed up lol, painful spd and complete boredom have set in so am spending way too much time and money surfing the internet for stuff i hadnt thought of/budgeted for/or really need!!! this baby is becoming very expensive lol

Iheartpasties · 01/11/2012 10:01

hi glenda. The internet is bad for shopping! way too easy to go click click click. I had two parcels arrive today and had two the day before. The postie was chatty today but I couldnt quite catch what he was one about so just smiled. I had been thinking her was irish for ages but today I decided he must actually be polish or something similar?! I'm rubbish with accents and feel like a thicko for not quite grasping what someone is saying to me.

Lilliana · 01/11/2012 10:04

Well it looks like some of us have made it to November! Can't believe it is here.

No twinges at all but went swimming last night and it was amazing; first time in months I felt normal and could move easily. Definitely want my water birth now.

Ikea beds/mattresses are a pita - 'normal' fitted sheets don't fit the mattresses, 'normal' mattresses don't fit the bed - basically you have to buy everything from Ikea.

We are in the middle of nowhere so no T or T-ers here which also means no left over chocolate!

Peaky1 · 01/11/2012 10:16

Morning all. Not a good day for me as I've been moved up to 'intermediate risk' and therefore can't have the homebirth I planned. Well, I could if I refused to go into hospital but the reasoning is that baby's growth has apparently dropped from 80th percentile at 34 weeks to 50th at 40 weeks yesterday. Nobody can explain why it's happened so I'm not sure what I or they can do about it really. I've gone a bit lost all of a sudden!

Nothing else is planned other than a sweep next tues with midwife, another scan next Thursday to look at growth again and an induction booked for a week on Saturday if nothing has happened naturally.

Iheartpasties · 01/11/2012 10:27

peaky ((hugs)).

CharleeWarlee · 01/11/2012 10:35

36 Weeks today. Have been told by a 'connected' person that something extraordinary and unplanned is due to happen today. Could it be babies arrival?! Have done lots of walking this week (rest of my pregnancy has happened with me laying on the sofa Grin) and have an hours walk to a venue where DD is going to a party today, then an hours walk home. Luckily her dad is picking her up and taking her to Wales til Sunday for bonfire weekend.

I had DD at 37+5 and this pregnancy is different partner, but all his side of the family had their babies between 35 and 37 weeks! eeek

applepieinthesky · 01/11/2012 10:38

Welcome barmee Smile

Happy November ladies, hope you are all well this morning. Cannot believe my little boy will be here this month even if he's late!

I couldn't sleep last night because I was trying to remember when I had last felt baby kick me and couldn't. I woke DP up in tears. He spoke to baby and pretty much as soon as he heard his voice he started wriggling about like mad Grin Baby has definitely moved position and although I still feel him squirming about I don't feel a lot of proper kicks anymore. Movement is good though isn't it?
