dh21 I now that story is awful really - because of course the driver was going way too fast. But it did sort of highlight the idea that you shouldn't wrap a baby in a blanet and then do up the straps, the blanket should go over the top, after straps have been done up.

Some of the keys are sticking on my keyboard, plus maybe I have fat fingers?! My typing is terrible!!

DH has started saying 'come on baby' now!!

StuntNun · 01/11/2012 07:37

I have just checked and while the Trick or Treaters have totally decimated the HUGE bowl of chocolate, they have left me with five mini Crunchies nom nom nom. Result... well three now! It's funny that I couldn't eat chocolate in the first trimester but now I can't get enough of the stuff!

Yaaaayyyy it's finally November!!

I'm 39 weeks tomorrow and very excited!
Was having contractions yesterday that we're lasting for around 40 seconds but they tailed off. Still, not long to go now and hopefully I can get my Christmas shopping done this weekend so its all out of the way before he arrives!

DesperateHousewife21 · 01/11/2012 07:48

pasties ill be putting baby in a snowsuit like I did with ds then there is no confusion about blankets!

Iheartpasties · 01/11/2012 07:52

dh21 yes! good plan batman :)

swiss good luck with your chrimbo shoping. Did you get excited by your contractions?! I would have been very pumped!

Sophiathesnowfairy · 01/11/2012 08:07

We had only two trick or treAters, I am not an active (ie don't go out of my way) halloweeneey but facilitate for others and am happy for the kids to partake in anything at nursery/school. Anyway, I have come down to only three milky ways and a mars bar left over thanks to DH! I shall enjoy those later.

ShellyBobbs · 01/11/2012 08:17

NOVEMBER LADIES, WE MADE IT!

I love halloween and all the kiddy trick or treaters. You miserable lot [hgrin] My eldest did a throwing up pumpkin at the door and we kit the house out like it's Christmas, I made 75 chocolate rice crispie buns and only have a few left. Most younger kids come with one of their parents MM, it really is a good way to get to know your neighbours if you're new.

Lots of pains last night, but I wouldn't give in and get up, there was absolutely NO WAY I was moving from that bed last night. Itchiness has gone on to new heights and I actually look a bit like a burns victim now, hubby is quite upset by it (soft get) and keeps begging me to enquire about being induced. Ummmm no chance matey, I'll even be refusing it if I get to 42 weeks if baba and placenta are OK thanks very much!

My dad is coming up today, will have to find some kind of small talk to chat to him about, it is very awkward when hubby isn't here, he usually just talks to him about football but I just don't have anything in common with him to talk about [hconfused]

SwissArmyWife · 01/11/2012 08:22

Thank you pasties I will probably need some luck! Mind you I expect I'll do most of it online as I can barely walk at the mo!
I was all set last night to go in to labour, I am so ready to give birth now! At least I know my body is preparing :)

Is anyone else ridiculously hot at the moment? I'm just a massive sweaty whale right now, when usually I'm practically cold blooded!

Iheartpasties · 01/11/2012 08:23

shelly halloween at your place sounds fun! It's a shame your dad isn't easy company. I am very lucky, my dad is fab, I was always a daddy's girl. Can't wait until he gets here for a visit, my mum is coming too but we dont get on that great !

jenbird · 01/11/2012 08:24

Can't believe it is November already and I will have a baby by the end of the month. It still seems so surreal. I have loads to do but I can't see an awful lot of it being done as just don't have the time. This plays havoc with my nesting instinct!
Have been working until midnight all week but think I have pushed it too far as I am knackered now. My labour with dc1 kicked off at 38 weeks which is only 4 days away eek.
Anyone else not having any twinges whatsoever? Sometime I get a bit of tummy ache but it's generally if I need a poo (shock)!

SwissArmyWife · 01/11/2012 08:24

shelly just talk about the weather Grin

ShellyBobbs · 01/11/2012 08:33

Pasties My dad has never lived with me and when I was younger, drink was so much more important to him than picking me up on his 1 monthly Sundays, he either didn't turn up or turned up rat arsed. When he did manage to come for me at a reasonable hour, off to the pub we went ALL DAY, so can't say I really know him to be honest. He does all the coming round to see me and phoning because to be honest, I'm really not interested and this is what my nana used to tell him every time during those horrible years. My mum doesn't bother with us at all which is fine, I keep in touch now and again, but like you, I never get a 'how are you doing' phone call. It doesn't bother me though because I accepted she was like this years ago, it's just with my dad, I really can't be arsed with all the pretense of it all.

Wow, that really wasn't a woe is me moan lol Grin

ShellyBobbs · 01/11/2012 08:34

Swiss think I'll have to Grin

kirrinIsland · 01/11/2012 08:42

Morning all :)

We don't get trick or treaters round our way, but I did buy myself a mars bar as a token nod to Halloween! 'tWas lovely.

Still twanging away here but not feeling like anything is going to happen anytime now. Now I've accepted that I've relaxed a bit - I figure I'll know soon enough if it is the real thing, so no point winding myself up in the meantime.

I've got a morrck wrap for my car seat which is fab. It goes under the baby and the straps go through it, so you can strap the baby in and then wrap the blanket over them. They are a bit pricy but well worth it IMO.

DD is currently emptying my bag and shoe cupboard (which is not exactly over flowing) whilst I try and block my mind to the clearing up I am going to have to do later - if it keeps her happy........

StuntNun · 01/11/2012 08:49

Hold the phone, there's another thread out there for November ladies: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/pregnancy/1593475-Anyone-else-here-around-38-weeks

Maybe we could entice them over here with promises of mini Crunchie milkshakes?

ValiumQueen · 01/11/2012 08:55

Happy November! I have tried to keep up but just cannot. I think of you often, and miss you. This is your month ladies!

DesperateHousewife21 · 01/11/2012 08:55

kirrin ds is currently playing with my tampons Hmm strange boy! Not like I need them though!

Im going to pack the last of my hospital bag this weekend and dh is going to fit the carseat in.
Ive washed the covers on the baby swing and fitted them back on so thats all ready to go. Just need baby now, although would like to hold off til Mon because Ive got a bikini wax (eek!) booked on sat and a big family lunch at my mums on Sun.

Iheartpasties · 01/11/2012 08:58

shelly It is sad that your dad clearly missed out on the joy of being a fab involved father. I think we all hope we can be great parents (well the best we can manage on any given day) - you either have to learn from a great upbringing or do the exact opposite of your upbringing i guess [confued] Grin

SwissArmyWife · 01/11/2012 08:59

Pah, dads. Mine is much the same, left when I was two and never really made an effort with me, more effort was made drinking and I still rarely see him. When he does visit he has to bring his girlfriend and my brother along so that conversation is actually made. All he talks to me about is when I'm going to move house Hmm

SwissArmyWife · 01/11/2012 09:02

Crap. The random black hair on my chin is back, and I've lost my tweezers!

BarmeeMarmee · 01/11/2012 09:03

StuntNun you never mentioned crunchie milkshakes! Nom nom!

Waves at everyone and asks if I'm too late to join you all as we're already in November? I'm 39 weeks tomorrow, 2nd DC and desperate to get this little one out now!

ShellyBobbs · 01/11/2012 09:06

I screen his calls, I've told him the house phone doesn't work so he phones my mobile, then I don't answer it for weeks Blush My hubby doesn't understand it at all and he's been with my for nearly 15 years! I'm also his only child thank goodness. I feel sorry for my dad in that he now knows I don't particularly like him much due to his twatness in my earlier years, but also know that he tries to make the effort now because it's so much easier now I'm an adult. Bah, anyway, I won't be seeing him after today until about June next year and he only stays about an hour...........

georgee · 01/11/2012 09:06

Welcome Barmee! Smile

ShellyBobbs · 01/11/2012 09:07

Welcome Barmee, never to late as the pop princess sang Grin

SwissArmyWife · 01/11/2012 09:08
