Tits, that is totally how I was feeling last week about my c section. They had their own agenda and I had to fight so hard when I really didn't have any strength and was terrified I was making a decision for the wrong reasons. They were also going for the stringing it out approach so they got what they wanted by saying that what I wanted wasn't possible, or wouldn't be for days.

I don't know if it was the mention of my mental health, my mother and DH's assertiveness, the mw who was on our side or just luck that suddenly changed matters, but a few hrs later I found myself in theatre and being treated like a human again.

I hope you find the same, good luck.

Titsalinabumsquash · 31/10/2012 21:13

I've pm-ed you Detective.

I'm going to make a note of all the points I need to make tomorrow, and I'll call the people Detective mentioned. If my consultant decides not to come and see me again tomorrow (even though she said she would today) I am going to demand to be put under another consultant, there are 4 senior consultants here so I don't see why I can't.

MissMummy1 · 31/10/2012 21:15

Just realised I've been banned from the kitchen, not because him indoors wants me to rest while he cooks dinner, but because his homemade chips are an experiment involving a fire blanket... Hmm

TheDetective · 31/10/2012 21:16

You absolutely can Tits. You can refuse to see anyone from Consultant to Midwife to Health Care Assistant. You have the right to transfer your care to another Consultant, and I suggest you do....

Titsalinabumsquash · 31/10/2012 21:18

I'm about to be stabbed with anti sickness again so I'm likely to be out for the count until tomorrow.

TheDetective · 31/10/2012 21:29

Not a bad thing overnight Tits... just PM'd you back :)

TheDetective · 31/10/2012 22:52

I think this child is trying to bust its way out in an unconventional manner!

Making up for lost time, maybe! Ouch!!

MissMummy1 · 31/10/2012 23:03

I've just had some gin-less tonic water in a bid to cure my sickness. YUCK! Never again!!

Iheartpasties · 31/10/2012 23:39

peaky1 I am sure it can be annoying for everyone to be checking up on you daily at the moment, but if I had just one bugger who would text me to ask if I was ok, or if baby had arrived it would be nice! Even if it was my own mother that might be nice too!! I have a friend due today (I think) and I have been trying to keep in contact with her without being too full on. It?s tricky! I understand you getting annoyed though :)

kissy I feel swollen, I cant wait to get rid of all of this fluid retention after the birth!

mm1 aww sorry to feel you have been feeling rough, but the lack of energy sounds exactly like me, and the up and down full on emotions seem par for the course :)
I love lindt choc. Yummo.

tits as always I am so gutted for you and the way they are treating you.

Iheartpasties · 01/11/2012 00:00

I'm cooking - it's very hot and humid today. It's just the worst! A mini crunchie has helped a little bit.

horseylady · 01/11/2012 00:14

Hugs still pregnant ladies!!

I know everyone says it but do make use of the resting etc now!!

The little one is so worth it but I have never in my life been so emotional!! He's wide awake at the moment!!! 10pm is our usual bed time but this little man loves waking up then!!!

Am exhausted, I partly want my old life back but also so in love it's unreal.

My labour flash backs are becoming less frequent and I'm trying to forget my treatment in hospital. I will put a formal complaint in at some point but firstly need to get my head straight!

Good luck to all I do keep reading your posts

Iheartpasties · 01/11/2012 01:10

horsey ((hugs)). I do not think you can beat the first few weeks with a new born! it's hard work but so worth it! And after about a week it still feels like one very long day!!

dd is currently sitting in a big bucket of water on the balcony! She is having lots of fun, and I can put my feet up!

TMI warning, I just sort of wet myself. Oh dear, I was putting water in the bucket for dd and the sound made me need a wee and as I ran to the toilet it already started to come out!! nice. Thankfully my panty liner caught most of it - it was definitely wee though! So glamorous!

Iheartpasties · 01/11/2012 02:18

33 degrees, and over cast and humid as fuck, grumble grumble sweaty grumble.

Thechick · 01/11/2012 02:26

It's pouring with rain in London. Think it was hailing earlier.

wellieboots · 01/11/2012 02:57

RANT ALERT Blush

So, now officially overdue - been to doc this morning, did an internal and can't even get to the cervix, and it bloody hurt! Wouldn't have minded if it had been good news but basically she fully expects to see me on Wed at 41 weeks and then talk about booking inductions blah, blah - I really don't want to be induced! How do I get this baby moving?!

Sorry for the incredibly selfish rant - hope everyone else is OK. We're now officially into November babies - YAY!

tits I keep hoping that someone is going to do something for you - hope detective is able to help point you in the right direction. I am absolutely [hshock] at the way you've been treated

Iheartpasties · 01/11/2012 03:06

this is a sad story, but highlights couple of important things. 1.dont wrap a baby in a blanket before strapping them into a car seat 2.read the info leaflet that comes with your car seat.

wellieboots · 01/11/2012 03:31

scary stuff pasties, I had never even thought about not wrapping bub in a car seat - I find it hard to get my head around how strict the car seat rules are here compared to home, but it just shows you that these things can happen :(

misslaughalot · 01/11/2012 04:56

Happy November everyone!

wishes I wasn't wide awake at this time of the morning

Iheartpasties · 01/11/2012 05:24

wellies We have a rear facing car seat for dd, and it's quite an interesting topic once you start reading about it. I follow a rear facing (in oz)campaign on facebook, it's pretty enlightening.

Iheartpasties · 01/11/2012 05:27

good morning laughalot

Iheartpasties · 01/11/2012 05:59

We have bought a second hand sofa off ebay! completely essential!??

StuntNun · 01/11/2012 06:38

I'm 39 weeks today. Holy moly that's scary! Had a lot of BHs last night but it didn't amount to anything. I'm a leetle bit worried by how full my calendar is, I have hospital appointments etc. for me and DS1 plus a will appointment on Friday and a saxophone lesson booked after my due date. So I don't mind if baby wants to hang around a few days past due but in the other hand I'm panicking whenever he doesn't move for a while. The poor thing is probably all squished up in there and can't move! DH is back to work today so hopefully I'll have the energy to clean up a bit. I'm trying to keep the place tidy so that everything's ready for my mum coming over but it's a never ending battle with DH and the kids.

DesperateHousewife21 · 01/11/2012 06:53

pasties that is of course a v sad story BUT, the bloke was driving at a ridiculous speed and I don't really understand how the baby was strapped in. Wrapped in a blanket with the straps over the top? Underneath? Not strapped in at all? The parents don't sound massively responsible if I'm honest.

Happy November to everyone! Hopefully we'll all get our babies this month thank god I sooo can't wait now and not even 38 weeks yet. My hips hurt so much at night now, my tummy hurts when I turn over and ds still clambers into our bed so I've either got him in the middle or dh which is worse because he has no sense of space and I end up with about an inch of bed.

Also ds woke at 6am and I had to get up despite being heavily preg, horribly ill and not getting enough sleep as it is.

On the plus side, not one single trick or greater last night!

Iheartpasties · 01/11/2012 06:55

stunt its funny isnt it, we count down to the due date hoping for baby to arrive, but AT THE SAME TIME sort of hope they stay put just for a couple of days or whatever?!

Baby felt quiet today, but i happily moving lots now. I think I might still have a nice cold can of coe later anyway - its still boiling, and I am cooing from the inside.

I have started watching West Wing again (for the 5th or 6th time), because someone else on here had got it into my head, and I felt a bit jealous because it was raining in one episode and loos cold - yet cosy!?

Sophiathesnowfairy · 01/11/2012 07:09

Morning all. Hope you have a better daytits

I was all set total the reflexologist that I can have the baby now thanks it wonder if I should keep Schtum and use the next few days to straighten up (my nesting has got to new heights this week) and chill, horsey you have just reinforced that thought.

I have a hot date tomorrow night. With DH! Looking forward to it it has been a busy week.
