Oh apparently some people didn't get the message and two new ladies have arrived for inductions. Angry

Peaky1 · 31/10/2012 12:48

Not sure MM. Why don't you give it a try and try to ring your phone from the land line?

I tested the 'Do Not Disturb' thing and it did need a little tweaking. You can go further into the settings of it so that you can allow certain people or nobody to get through to you. Also, your iphone needs to have a locked screen for it to work. I tested it by running one of my relaxation recordings in my iTunes and locking the screen. When I tried to call on my land line it went straight through to answerphone, didn't disrupt the recording and a written notification came up of the missed call when I unlocked the screen again. Better than nothing I guess! I next need to test it with text messaging...

DesperateHousewife21 · 31/10/2012 12:50

Ooh peaky due today! Fingers crossed for you then.

Ds and I have been to the local wildlife park, morrisons and I'm currently sitting in the car while he has a little snooze (only way he'll nap nowadays) it was hard work walking around though and I just constantly needed the loo.
Feel a bit achy low down now but is prob just from walking about, looking forward to having some mobility back and being able to hate around with ds instead of patch ethically saying 'mummy can't lift you, you're too heavy'!

DesperateHousewife21 · 31/10/2012 12:51

Charge around*

DesperateHousewife21 · 31/10/2012 12:51

Pathetically*

Grr bloody iPhone!

Titsalinabumsquash · 31/10/2012 12:57

Ah feck it, labour wards just got really busy so looks like I'm out for today Sad

Lilliana · 31/10/2012 13:12

Oh no Tits, can't they do the sweep anyway? It takes some time to get going I understand.

Peaky no one is asking me how I am - clearly I am not popular! I am only 37+4 though

StuntNun · 31/10/2012 13:17

I has mini Crunchies Grin

OP posts:
Sophiathesnowfairy · 31/10/2012 13:27

Where did you source the mini crunches stunt?

Hope you get your sweep tits

Baby has hiccups, I really don't like it despite it being reassuring.

Any progress peaky?

We are being halloweeny, hanging around in masks, eating pumpkin soup etc.

misslaughalot · 31/10/2012 13:32

So how is it I could keep up with our threads when I was at work, but since I started ML I have been rubbish?!

Congratulations to everyone who has graduated! The pics on FB are ALL gorgeous and I really can't wait to be on the other side now!

Peaky I was going to text you this morning to say I was thinking about you, but wondered if you might have had a flood of similar messages. Hope your growth scan goes ok.

I've developed a stinking cold during the night, does anyone have any recommendations for things to relieve the symptoms? I took a paracetamol this morning to try and clear my nose and head (plus my carpal tunnel syndrome is giving me constant pain) but I don't want to start taking it regularly, so any home remedies chocolate recipes are welcome!

Peaky1 · 31/10/2012 13:33

No progress here. Just busying myself while I wait for a growth scan later. C'maaaaaan mini Peaky!

Peaky1 · 31/10/2012 13:42

Haha Misslaughalot I'm not that bad really. I know that you'd actually enquire about what's happening though rather than beating about the bush! I had a 'happy due date' text from Kass too. You guys are different, you're in the same boat as me. It's the randomers that I hardly every hear from that are all coming out of the woodwork today! Ungrateful Peaky. Even my Dad rang me half an hour ago asking if I want lunch! He normally only rings me if something technological has gone wrong in the house. We don't do small talk between us [hwink]. Sadly I was already eating my lunch (Dad is an awesome cook...if a little eager on the salt).

I was told by pharmacist that olbas oil was safe to inhale and I've used vicks on pillow/chest etc but I only had a really minor sniffle in early pregnancy. I hate having a blocked nose! Some people are even told that Lemsip is safe but I say speak to GP/NHS 24/Pharmacist to check as everyone seems to get told different things. They even do olbas oil bubble bath, which is a bit weird but DP has used it before.

Peaky1 · 31/10/2012 13:45

Oooh poo I also forgot to give you all that cloth nappy info. I'll bring it with me to Costa on Monday if I remember

kissyfur · 31/10/2012 13:49

Thanks for the iPhone tip peaky

tits I hope you still get your sweep and that it works!

I had another awful morning of waking up with numb arms and hands every hour or so. It really does hurt Sad

Anyone else noticed they have swollen up over the last few days? I definitely have, that's normal towards the end though isn't it?

Very Envy of the clean cupboards lilliana mine need doing but I just can't face it!

georgee · 31/10/2012 13:57

One of the weirdest symptoms I've had during these nights in pregnancy is really, really painful ears (by which I mean the cartilage in my ears) when I wake up on that side, which means I then turn over until the other ear gets too painful to lean on. Can't wait to be able to sleep on my tummy again as usual.

I think swelling is usual Kissy at this stage. At which point I feel the need to defer to someone else who knows more than me - talking of which, we haven't heard much from Detective today have we?

Hang in there tits. Do you think you've become part of the furniture now that you've been there so long? Perhaps you should start singing loudly or something to draw attention to yourself ...

DesperateHousewife21 · 31/10/2012 14:02

I ached all over trying to sleep last night it was horrible.

I've just eaten some fruit pastilles though which were v yummy and dh is coming home early today which is gooood!

Still feel a bit crappy, sore throat and not with it. Baby has been booting me which is nice, although it gives me strong BHs which when driving over bumps isn't nice!

Sophiathesnowfairy · 31/10/2012 14:11

I am more swollen generally at the mo kissy

misslaughalot does that reflect your productivity whilst in the work place!

Titsalinabumsquash · 31/10/2012 14:25

I'm about to have a different rant sorry!

I'm really pissed off with the constant reports from home about DS1's behaviour, yes he's playing up, but what the fuck do they expect?! They're scared, bored, confused CHILDREN I'm tempted to discharge myself, I just told DP not to bother coming up tonight, I'm having a weepy moment.

misslaughalot · 31/10/2012 15:00

sophia probably! Although I'd like to think of it as me being good at multitasking whilst working at a computer, whereas now I can go for a day or two without picking up my iPad!

Peaky that's what baby brain is doing to us, I completely forgot to ask you for it before I left! And don't take this the wrong way but I'm hoping you won't be there on Monday! You need to be snuggling your little boy, not having coffee with us! Grin

Lilliana · 31/10/2012 15:14

I'm now sat on the sofa watching a DVD and eating my way through a box of after eights (really want a crunchie but as the nearest shop is 15 mins by car I CBA to get one) Think this is it for the day now!

Georgee I get the hurting ear thing too, thought I was the only one! Bloody annoying though when I have opposite ear and hip hurting, not sure which way to go then.

misslaughalot I had some honey and glycerin (sp?) stuff that the pharmacist gave me when I had a cough, it did help but not sure if it will help your cold. Second inhaling vicks or similar in steam, that worked a treat to unblock my nose/chest.

MissMummy1 · 31/10/2012 15:15

I feel like crap. Constantly feel like I'm going to throw up and now have mildish period like pains. A bath didn't help. I'm knackered but can't get comfy enough to sleep. Sad Hoping this isn't the start of anything as I have another 2 weeks before I qualify for MA. Not to mention I'm only 36 weeks tomorrow!

DesperateHousewife21 · 31/10/2012 16:09

tits who's looking after your dc? Is it your dp? I think dh always has a bit of a reality check when he has to look after ds on his own, yes it is hard I know I do it all day every day on my own!

missmummy you're one of the few due after me you're not allowed to give birth yet!!

I've had a nap (bit longer than intended) and stuck dinner in the oven for a slow cook, was really looking forward to it al week (beef in ale casserole) but I can hardly taste anything :(

Chunkychicken · 31/10/2012 16:29

Snap DH re the nap & diner (although mine isn't beef & ale unfortunately [henvy])

My ear hurts from laying in one position almost all night. And I have had to take my rings off overnight as my fingers swell and I don't want them getting stuck. My face is definitely looking slightly fuller, which must be a fluid thng, as I haven't gaied extra weight lately iyswim.

Can feel baby's foot wedged in my right side, so keeping fingers crossed s/he is more LOA today (MW thought s/he was a bit OP yesterday, and head only 2/5 palpable). Trying to be more patient and take each day as it comes, rather than constantly worry when baby is going to get here, but it is hard to maintain this!!!

Titsalinabumsquash · 31/10/2012 16:57

The kids are with DP/BIL and SIL, I'm just getting really down and anxious being away from them, DP is bringing them to see me tonight so that will be nice.

I am having the sweep for sure the dr said to go ahead (I think he feels sorry for me!) lets hope it's a: possible and b: effective.

I have had the ear thing for months, bloody hurts! I assumed I had just been squishing it in my sleep glad I not the only one though.

ShellyBobbs · 31/10/2012 17:03

When I went for a wed the other night, I looked down and I had elephant feet! When I got up the next morning I took over half an hour to look again, luckily they had gone back down!
