ValiumQueen · 29/10/2012 23:38

I think you lot are going everso slightly mad! I remember last time I was one of the last ones to pop and everyone pissed off to talk babies. Remember we are not yet in november.

tits so not impressed by your care.

detective is so getting a shag tonight.

I am so not getting a shag or sleep tonight.

kissyfur · 29/10/2012 23:40

Fingers crossed things start up again *tits!

applepieinthesky · 29/10/2012 23:41

Oh tits I hope things happen for you soon.

This is my third night in a row of strong Braxton Hicks. They last a couple of hours then go again though. Where can I get some clary sage from?

That's crap kissy. Can you return it or not now it's been put together?

FatimaLovesBread · 29/10/2012 23:46

Can't sleep again Sad This is doing my head in now!

Passmethecrisps · 29/10/2012 23:47

kissy that sounds awesome. Some cushions will sort you out.

VQ right now November feels as far away as July. October has been he longest month ever!!

Our room seems too big and empty now. And detective makes it smell of clary sage and eggy farts.

Passmethecrisps · 29/10/2012 23:55

fatima my yoga teacher taught us this breathing exercise which she is adamant is great for sleeping. I can't do it as I always have one nostril stuffed but you could try if I can explain it properely.

Take your rift hand and fold down the middle and the ring fingers.

Close off the right nostril with your thumb and breath in through your left nostril. Close off the left nostril with your pinky finger and breath out from the right nostril. Keep left closed now breath in through the right nostril. Now close the right and breath out through the left.

So:
Left in
Right out
Right in
Left out

That is one 'set'. She swears that doing 10 sets or so will send you off to sleep. She claims that doing these during labour relaxed her so much that her contractions stopped. Bad for labour, good for sleeping

Passmethecrisps · 29/10/2012 23:57

I got the finger fold wrong. It should be fold down the pointing finger and middle finger. Close your left nostril with the ring finger.

Not sure actual fingers matter really.

kissyfur · 29/10/2012 23:59

No apple I don't think you can take things back once you've made them, ah well - cushions it is!

wellieboots · 30/10/2012 00:08

Ladies, once again there is too much to catch up on so apologies to anyone whose news I have missed!

Glad all is well with you detective and that you got back home - hope something kicks off soon!

tits I am still furious at your "care" along with everyone else, glad you are back in hospital and hope the pain relief is helping. Hope your labour happens of its own accord very soon

congratulations caped, your little girl is just gorgeous, and what a beautiful name

bad news on the mattress kirrin, can you get it exchanged?

I need to have this baby soon, I am going mad and just want it over and done with now! I will probably still be sitting here in 2 weeks time - typical!
I get occassional periody pains but it never goes anywhere!

Patience....

Izzybuzzybuzzybees · 30/10/2012 00:26

I'm in bed beside a snoring DH. I can't relax enough to sleep as I keep worrying about this assessment and appointment tomorrow. I've pinned my hopes on induction and have been stupidly thinking it may be tomorrow or Wed. I'm so scared they will just tell me to go back again to clinic next week. If they would even give me a date i would be happier. Fingers crossed! Will update when I can

FatimaLovesBread · 30/10/2012 01:26

Thanks Pass I'll try that. Although my right nostril is bunged up at the moment.

Iheartpasties · 30/10/2012 03:35

Big Congrats caped

fatima my mum and dad bought a very lightweight suitcase from Matalan, not cheap though, it was SHITE!!! It broke. They took it back, full refund, but the manager said loads had been returned!! Don?t get that one!!!

kissy we have a mattress like that! Love it!!

MadamGazelleIsMyMum · 30/10/2012 04:00

Am wide awake downstairs and boiling with rage at DH. For a variety of things, some of which are very justified, some of which are definitely irrational and hormone fuelled. Also got killer heartburn. Am knackered and going to regret not trying to sleep more later when I have a full of beans DD running around, but lying there I was getting more enraged by the second. Gah!

kissyfur · 30/10/2012 05:31

Good luck for today izzy!

Had to get up as I couldn't take the pain of having one completely numb hand and arm anymore Sad I hope every morning won't be like this til the baby comes or I am going to be shattered, 17 days to go and counting!

Iheartpasties · 30/10/2012 05:38

Gah! from me too. Just been informed that our house in the uk, that we let out, needs a new kitchen because the old one is falling to bits! I have no idea how much that will cost!! we'll manage somehow, but its eems gutting! When I was pregnant last time with dd our tenant stopped paying rent and we had to evict her in the end and it cost shit loads!! If we could sell the house right now, I would!! But not really - if I'm being sensible I know we cannot sell it as it wouldnt sell for enough!! g'ah!! ok moan over.

I was going on about crunchies - now y'all are scoffing them! I had another one at lunch time today!! yum. And get this - yesterday I made myself a crucnhie ice cream milkshake!!!!!!!! yummmmo.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 30/10/2012 06:45

Is my little fucker darling, the only toddler who can not grasp clock change. 5:30 this morning, although he woke me with polite coughing at 5:00.

However, in my mega nest I have managed to clean his highchair, the leather sofas, and empty the dishwasher in that time.

georgee · 30/10/2012 06:52

Same here Sophia, 5.30 for me this morning with DD (so he's not the only one - it's just those two in the whole country). However, unlike you I've just been sitting on my bum eating toast and drinking tea. DH is emptying the dishwasher!

I thought you sounded hopeful yesterday in terms of signs, hoping for more for you today (as long as you're ready)!

Detective too - fingers crossed for progress today!

SwissArmyWife · 30/10/2012 06:57

DD was up at 5:30 aswell! I have eaten three slices of pizza for breakfast. Now I want a crunching ice cream milkshake!

Trying to think of things I can clean/sort bit I think may have done everything now Blush

It's the ten day countdown until my due date!

SwissArmyWife · 30/10/2012 06:58

*crunchie even!

kirrinIsland · 30/10/2012 07:03

Well, I've had a night of promising twinges and period type pain and now......... Nothing, zero, de nada, zilch :( Gutted!

Titsalinabumsquash · 30/10/2012 07:40

I think these babies are mocking us! already

I'm going to ask for a sweep
This morning I figure if I can labour by myself without the induction it's got to beg worth a go surely?! The midwife was going to do 2 before next wed anyway if I was at home.

Good luck today Izzy really lay it on the line to them how it's effecting your current QOL.

DesperateHousewife21 · 30/10/2012 07:45

kirrin that sounds v promising though, fingers crossed for you!

I've finally reached 37 weeks, but would like baby to hold out another week really because I have plans right up til Sunday.

Jims · 30/10/2012 07:46

Hello
First time poster on this thread - congrats to all who've had babies so far. I'm v jealous as i'm 39 weeks tomorrow and just want the baby out. 39 that is with an extra week leeway as my first was 20 days late before i agreed to be induced (long cycles)!
chicken i'm interested in what your consultant says today as my platelets are dropping too. My midwife has checked in with the hospital and they only say i can't have a home birth if they fall below 100. They've taken more blood tests than usual to keep an eye on it but only every 2 weeks and last time they came in at 124 which they were ok with but repeated the test.

Chunkychicken · 30/10/2012 08:10

hi Jims that's interesting. The falling platelets has only been discovered at my standard blood tests at 28 and 34 wks and the lowest they've got is 128. I have decided that I will compromise on the desired physiologcal 3rd stage if it means I get the home birth (as long as they don't start laying it on thick with risks - I'll probably just agree to go into the MLU in that case, on the proviso they don't send me home immediately if I'm not yet in active labour...) Its just confused me a bit because my usual MW didn't see any cause for concern Hmm I also don't know if I had low platelets last time because I'm almost certain I was never sent for the 34wks blood tests, and I don't have my notes...

Was getting really bad and frequent BH and backache last night - it was coming in irregular waves so knew it wasn't actually 'going anywhere' but was kinda of hoping it would be the early stages - I can't do that level of discomfort/anticipation every night for the next 3 weeks. I just don't have the tolerance/patience.

Anyone else's family going mad trying to organise Christmas??!! I just want to scream "F**k Christmas, I want the next 3wks out the way first..." Unsuprisingly, its the Step-MIL who has never had children wanting to make plans most desperately. It shows how little understanding she has of how one feels about the impending arrival and how the 'not-knowing' does your head in. I will have a very newborn at Chistnas, I couldn't care less about who does what, when at the mo!!! Grrrrr. [hangry]

kirrinIsland · 30/10/2012 08:10

I'm hoping it will mean something is going to happen in the next couple of days, though that may be wishful thinking! 39 weeks tomorrow!

tits I think a sweep is a good idea - it's got to be worth a try and it maybe all you need to set you off, esp with your contractions last night. Fx'd for you.

Welcome jims - we share a due date I'm ignoring your comments about being 20 days late
