Detective I've felt that way for the last 8 months. Now I REALLY want it! And he doesn't.... Sad Might just jump him tonight seeing as he has no choice but to share a bed with me when we have visitors (a rare novelty sleeping in the same room let alone bed!) Grin

TheDetective · 29/10/2012 20:22

Sometimes that can be the case. It depends on the Registrar making the decision re: management.

Often in cases where the drip is started straight away it is because of other concerns. Ie: CTG trace not brilliant/concerns with fetal or maternal obs, cervix very unfavourable and ARM only just achieved. Or anticipating that ARM alone isn't going to achieve much, and to wait to start the drip would prolong the process.

Have to say most times you wait, maybe 10% of times you start the drip after the ARM, usually for the above reasons, and at direction of the Reg! You can always decline of course Grin

MM I have a very willing participant here - free to good any home Grin

Titsalinabumsquash · 29/10/2012 20:43

Does anyone else's baby camp out so far to one side that it makes their bump look odd, mine bump is almost flat (non existent) on the left but jutted out dramatically on the right, always has been, none of this beautiful rounded bumpiness for me, I wonder if my left side is substandard to this little one? Grin

Sophiathesnowfairy · 29/10/2012 20:45

Knackered after long walk in woods, kids did me proud stunt, and an afternoon filled with craft, a toddler bunching off the walls and a mummy that just want to lie on the sofa!

As far as my purple line is concerned I am fully dilated[hconfused]

I am ignoring anything that feels like a contraction. But am so busy this week anyway I do 't think I notice it till bedtime. Now there's loads!

Sophiathesnowfairy · 29/10/2012 20:46

Mine does that tits, then it goes all wobbly and the baby disappears out of sight!

TheDetective · 29/10/2012 20:55

Stick a fork in me, I'm done! Oh god I can't move I am so stuffed with spuds Grin

TheDetective · 29/10/2012 21:17

OH GOD! I'm breathing through my BH's because I am so full they hurt hahahaha!!!

Self inflicted pain! D'oh!

TheDetective · 29/10/2012 21:19

You buggers are killing me with the animal pictures!

I WANT THEM ALL!!!!

MissMummy1 · 29/10/2012 21:22

You can have Bailey. Him and DH have a love-hate relationship: the dog adores making his life hell him whilst he can't stand the dog! Namely because or an incident involving a cup of coffee and a brand new laptop last year!!

TheDetective · 29/10/2012 21:25

I'll take him! SOLD! Will send DP in exchange Grin

MissMummy1 · 29/10/2012 21:28

Deals Wink !

TheDetective · 29/10/2012 21:31

I don't do returns!

MissMummy1 · 29/10/2012 21:32

Nope, but i guarantee you'll be begging me to take the hairy brat back after a day!!

TheDetective · 29/10/2012 21:41

Hahahaha! I might have more success whipping him in to shape than I have with DP Grin

TheDetective · 29/10/2012 21:55

I am pretty sure my body is ready to labour - it feels ready.

I have loads of BH's, baby in optimal position, yada yada. I just feel like it is close - and needs something to tip it over the edge.

Just broke open the clary sage, and it gave me a whopper of a BH within about 5 sniffs! Yay!

DP now running me a bath with it in, and am going to try some nipple stimulation Grin. I'm gonna have to have sex aren't I?!?!?! :(

DP just bought me the ball.... i'll try that first!

mrswee · 29/10/2012 22:31

oh god, I've just read 10 pages to catch up and my biggest conculsion I have come to is that at best I am unprepaired, at worst I am in denial! all these early babies...

I am due in 4 weeks, all I have ready is a small pile of vests, two pairs of baby trousers, one hat, no socks, two small packs of size 1 nappies, some boob pads and some mat pads.. all stuffed in the bottom of my wardrobe, that is it! I have a pram but I haven't washed the newborn bits, i'm not sure where they are even. I have a crib but no blankets or sheets.
I have no bathroom only a toilet and the bath and all the pumbers tools are in the nursery including for some reason the pedistal for the sink which is in the crib?! why?!
The car seat and other stuff is in storage but I have no idea how damp proof the storage really is.
I have completly forgotten what a newborn needs!! I need help! help me sort it out!

Passmethecrisps · 29/10/2012 22:34

Have sex with the ball in the bath while sniffing clary sage and bouncing on a pineapple.

detective your explanation of induction would have saved me going to parenting classes! Thanks for that!

I still have no idea when I am Braxton hixing and when baby is just havig a biiiiiiig stretch, or I need a wee (all the time) or a poo (a fair amount of the time).

Who mentioned Netflix? We have love Film. We have a telly which streams certain things directly or we can also order disks. Things we have watched are:
Dexter - darkly funny
Mad Men - interesting and funny
Breaking Bad - mostly sad actually but can be darkly comic

We have watched all of 24 again from scratch and have now started on Prison Break again.

Love Film live streams loads of box sets like Flash Forward, Lost, Dr Who and so on. I quite like ordering random things - Law and Order Criminal Intent.

I prefer sort of crime type stuff. Any one with any other ideas being em on.

Passmethecrisps · 29/10/2012 22:45

tits my bump throws all sorts of shapes and now often takes on a sort of square shape. DH is convinced he can feel arse cheeks.

mrswee hello! You will probably find the last two pages are me talking total garbage. Feel free to skim - I say nothing sensible. Your house sounds like hard work. I am sure it will be worth it all in the end. Nothing like impending birth to focus the mind though!

kissyfur · 29/10/2012 22:49

Ever feel like you can't do anything right?! DP and I have just put our new Ikea bed together and the bed is about 20cm too big for our mattress! SadAngryBlush we knew it was going to be a little too big but not 20cm. Worried about DD and new DC slipping down the gap now, oh balls!!!

TheDetective · 29/10/2012 22:55

The clary sage was disaterous! One strong BH, then all things urterine have ceased.

Off to the ball... When I've ceased dripping in sweat from my lava hot bath!

Promise no update after possible shagging attempts. That would just be a step too far

Grin
Passmethecrisps · 29/10/2012 23:10

Aw crap kissy. Did you buy the mattress from Ikea? I knew the bed sizes were different but I didn't think they were that different.

Crikey blimey o'reilly I am getting some jabby pains up my bum. Proper pootractions. Making me lift right up off my seat.

Titsalinabumsquash · 29/10/2012 23:16

Gah, I was on the monitor, we watched contractions starting off all over the place get slowly closer together and regular for an hour and fecking well stopped dead. Angry how very dare they?! Even the midwives were getting a bit happy for me.

Passmethecrisps · 29/10/2012 23:29

Oh cock and balls tits. That sounds bloody frustrating

kissyfur · 29/10/2012 23:36

No pass we already had the mattress, its only about a year old and was about £700! Each side is a different softness, when u buy one you go and lie on this computer bed that tells u what softness you need and then it's specially made. It's sooo comfy! Otherwise I'd buy a new one from Ikea that will fit the bed Sad I'm going to have to make some sort of cushions to go down the sides now!
