OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
missmaybe · 21/11/2012 17:56

jools, I'm not sure why I've had to wait so long but I suspect it's because they're so busy and don't think I'm in danger of an ectopic or anything. It's kind of nerve wracking though!

boymeetsworld - thank you, that's a lovely story! I don't have any other kids actually, but I've gone through a miscarriage with a previous partner by my side. You are so right, I can imagine it could be really lovely in some unexpected ways. Now fingers crossed it all happens despite the spotting :) And thank you again xx

missmaybe · 21/11/2012 17:57

chocolateteabag - better to have done the highlighting/dying your hair without thinking about it, than to fret too much over whether to do it or not, I think!!!

Hai1988 · 21/11/2012 18:20

Mw doing a home vist on.sat so wont need to worry about taking snacks jools

thinkingpositivethoughts · 21/11/2012 18:25

Hi all, I think I'm all caught up, have been struck down with a horrible cold and wallowing in self pity at not being able to take much to deal with it. As a result I realised that I hadn't noticed any symptoms. Welled up walking past mothercare yesterday as I was so convinced I was off the bus. Back to being a bit more rational (and feeling sick) today.

jools and missmaybe I'm so sorry that you're having a scary time and that they're making you wait miss, hope you get some reassurance soon.

The weather has been apocalyptic today hope everyone has got around okay

wifey love that a little old man shopping by himself set you off, would me too!

Thundercatz · 21/11/2012 18:47

Hi everyone I have been AWOL for a while but have caught up reading. Welcome to all the newbs and congrats!! Fingers crossed for us all to have healthy and uneventful pregnancies although seems like there are already lots of symptoms abound!
I seem to have lost many of my symptoms , well they are there but not so strong. Still v tired and bloated and a bit hormonal - maybe I'm just getting used to them? Counting down the days till my early scan in 1.5 weeks!!!
Feel so fraudulent not telling work and friends etc but know I don't want to share with everyone during these early delicate days... They just seem to be lasting an eternity!!!

jools70 · 21/11/2012 19:20

missmaybe Well I'm thinking of you and hope you see that lovely heartbeat. I'm still worried, I may contact the nurse at EPU tomorrow if the bleeding has not stopped. It's intermittent, but the cramps are pretty bad.

thundercatz I know how you feel, we've not told the family, it's really tough.

Hai1988 you lucky lady with the home visit Grin

Just made a fire in the wood burner and sat down with a box of Matchmakers (mint) Mmmmm yum, feels like christmas lol

esme80 · 21/11/2012 19:25

Hi everyone hope everyone is well!
Girlsgot I am also struggling with morning sickness. Everyone says eat little and often, I found that its worse when my stomach gets too empty. I am managing best with food that is soft and not too strong in flavor if that makes sense? Tonight had jacket potato with beans. Also eating lots of supernoodles. Lets hope this passes quickly!

esme80 · 21/11/2012 19:27

jools thinking of you!

photographerlady · 21/11/2012 19:32

Yay booking appointment letter came in. It's the day after my private scan at 8 weeks. That's so much better than 13 weeks which was the original date. I'm getting excited now!

Persuasion · 21/11/2012 19:37

jools and others with bleeding, fingers crossed for you.

My sickness has ratcheted up today. I can't drink anything but water and am now having gagging spells. Nice.

Good news is that my booking appointment is tomorrow morning. It makes everything feel very real! and I gt a lie in coz it's at 9:40!

Guavasforbreakfast · 21/11/2012 20:39

Hope everything's ok jools and others, my sister bled with her little girl and she's now a very bubbly 3 year old. Hoping that the positive stories will make you feel the tiniest bit better.

Thunder ditto on it lasting an eternity - how am I STILL only 6 weeks?! All-day sickness has hit with a vengeance. Sick twice, and the whole house seems to smell like the burgers that made me sick - I heave every time I walk in :-(

Coping with my crazy class is almost impossible with the nausea and exhaustion, but made better by telling the other pregnant colleague - a bit of empathy goes a long way, I would def recommend finding a trustworthy confidente at work :-)

Have given in and booked a private scan for the 14th dec at 9.5 weeks. Really wanted to be sure before announcing it to DP's parents at Xmas, esp as we lost the last one early on. Please tell me I'm justified in spending all that money on my first Grin

Cutandstick · 21/11/2012 21:02

jools and others, I have everything crossed.

On a symptom whinge HOW is it even possible to get so bloated in the 15 hours I can stay awake for?!! inches on the waist, do I wear trousers that fall down to go to work but are comfy by 3pm, or normal trousers I can't breath in later?! Ahhhhh!!!!

Also cottonsock I think I have that round ligament thing... Comforted to read your post about it. I couldn't decide if I'd pulled something coughing or I had the biggest amount of trapped wind. It's all so attractive. What I wouldn't give to spend a good 5 minutes trumping loudly... Who'd have thought it! Grin

On that note off to sleep again! Night all!

Thundercatz · 21/11/2012 21:15

Haha go guava with the early scan - I fully support you as I'm doing the same... I'm very unlikely to get my second scan (12 week scan) before Xmas unless im lucky enough to get it in Xmas eve... So if I don't I'm actually already considering a second private scan Blush ... A but spoilt but would feel a lot better sharing with allmy rellies on Xmas days if I had had a more recent scan just before... Or am I being silly and should just rely on my 8 week scan and touch wood feeling ok between then and Xmas - aargh I over think things!

cut hear you on the bloating - saw myself in mirror after work today and looked disgusting with massive tum - looked reasonable this morning! Makes you just want to stay in your pjs! Bring on the proper bump!

Speaking of which jools your evening sounds perfect and cosy!

marimama · 22/11/2012 03:08

Cutandstick, bring a hairband/tie/elastc to work. You can loop it through button hole of trousers, then wrap other end around button. Instant extendable pants!! Grin

Know i mentioned this yesterday, but bit concerned about getting through tomorrow's American Thansgiving holiday without being outed. Thoughts on how to keep it secret and not get baby drunk? I could just carry the same wineglass around all day? :( just not ready to share yet (only 5 weeks). Help?

BooStar · 22/11/2012 04:44

Really hope alls ok for you jools - another set of crossed everything for you from me :)

Well it's 4.30 in the morning, I woke up an hour ago to go for a wee and I'm still awake. Which is really frustrating as I'm totally shattered at the mo and I just know my DS will have me up in about an hour and a half :(

Those of you who are feeling nausea that's only eased by eating, I discovered (far too late) in my last preg that sucking polos really helped. Wish I'd realised earlier and saved myself from that extra two stone of cake & biscuits!

With regard to booze faking, if you can get an ally then glass swapping works well, my husband drinks half his glass and then swaps with me, drinks all that and then swaps again so I can even go in for a refill! He gets absolutely plastered mind :)

Right - must try and get back to sleep!!

YikesHereWeGo · 22/11/2012 06:52

Hello everyone. Is it ok if I join the July gang? I'm 5 wks today Smile, EDD 25 July. Bit nervous following a mc at 10 wks in May (was due on 5 Dec Sad). Got a 7 wk scan coming up in 2 weeks and am counting down the days.
Hope you're all well?

chocolateteabag · 22/11/2012 07:48

Good Morning Brew
Hi Yikes - good to have you here - there are a few of us having early scans over the next few weeks

Marimama second on the sip and swap. Also have a glass of water on the go at the same time so you don't get too parched. You can also take your wine glass and leave it somewhere else. Then if offered another drink, decline and go get your glass.

photographerlady · 22/11/2012 08:09

Welcome Yikes. Hope the scan goes well mines on December 6th and the days are crawling.

Camb79 · 22/11/2012 09:24

Hi everyone, so we have our early scan booked for next Friday, the 30th. Can't wait, and quite nervous as I have not felt pregnant for a second, bar twinges and some period pain. Have many of you have period pain in the early weeks?

Also got the booking in letter, due for that in mid Dec.

I don't remember being so scared the first time around, two years ago.

orangebubbles · 22/11/2012 09:27

Morning all.

Boo loving your little drinking trick.

Welcome and congrat's newbies.

cut I hear you. My stomach is the size of a small house by the evening. I have a Christmas wedding to attend too, what the hell am I going to wear? Way toooooo early to dig out maternity stuff but none of my dresses are going to look nice by the time the wedding breakfast has been quaffed!!!

McKTastic · 22/11/2012 09:28

Still reading! Am very envious of those due at beginning of month - being four weeks further on at the moment would be fab. This bit takes SO long!!

Have had my meds sorted (the benefits of testing at first possible chance!) but not going to contact MW till next week. Hopefully see them before Christmas. Not feeling too sick just bloated but think it was around week 6 that it kicked in last time. I still BF my DD so am grateful that my boobs are surviving. Really hoping she'll stick at it through the changes & not self wean but will see how it goes.

Thinking of you all. We're toying with a pre Crimbo scan too - will probably keep reading & stay off list till then (although I keep telling myself there's nothing we can do to change the outcome it doesn't stop the worry).

Good advice re polos Grin am still huge since last time so will try if the sickness descends!

Hope all early scans go well.

Thundercatz · 22/11/2012 10:20

camb I've had twinges but not pains, but I think period pains are quite a normal symptom.
This week (week 6-7) I have literally felt nauseous and dizzy on the morning then once I have had cup of tea at work I feel almost normal for the rest of the day... I understood morning sickness to be a misnomer so I can't tell whether this is a genuine symptom or I'm just imagining it???

Has anyone else with sickness had it only/much worse in the morning?

elliejjtiny · 22/11/2012 11:09

thunder my ms is much worse in the morning. Once I get back into the cycle of eating little and often I'm ok again.

marimama · 22/11/2012 12:10

Boo & chocolate: i owe you bottles of wine (in july!).... Best suggestion ever. Grin Grin thanks

The weeks waiting for scan are the worst!! Seems to last forever!!

SchroSawMummyRidingSantaClaus · 22/11/2012 13:16

Hi everyone. :)

Hope everyone is doing well.
