Thunder, my ms is just about tolerable in the morning but gets worse throughout the day until evening when I give up and go to bed leaving my poor dh to deal with the 3 dc's bedtime. Glad he's so understanding, not sure how I would cope otherwise. Does anyone know if the doctor will give you something for bad ms?

I think they'll only give you something if it's really severe, like cant keep food down at all, but if you can't function it's worth asking. Mine also gets progressively worse through the day.

I supposedly had my booking appointment today but stupid receptionist booked me in a 15minute follow up slot instead of an hour booking slot. The good news is the midwife is lovely, made a space for me in 2 weeks, and has given me lots of booklets and has also requested my 12 week scan and bloods, so nothing will be delayed. fingers crossed I can get the scan in the week before Christmas, it's the only time DH would be able to go with me.

SchroSawMummyRidingSantaClaus · 22/11/2012 14:13

Girls You can get anti emetics from them really easily, just ask (I had hyperemesis last time). If it gets really bad go and ask for the stemetil injection and make sure you don't let yourself get dehydrated, try and drink dioralyte if you can keep it down.

Haven't had/got any symptoms at all. Very strange, last time I was a state by this point. Feel quite good actually.

jools70 · 22/11/2012 17:32

Evening all, welcome newbies and congrats Smile

Called the EPU, the lady I spoke to was very nice but did say there is nothing I can do but wait and see how things turn out, she did however move my next scan to Mon at 9:30 so thats better. I've been taking things really easy, the cramps have eased but I'm still bleeding, still no clots (Sorry TMI). Will just ride it out and see if we still have a heartbeat Mon. Really stupid but last night I saw stars in the sky and made a wish to them lol Grin

wifey6 · 22/11/2012 17:40

That's not silly at all Jools...keeping my fingers crossed for you. That's great you spoke to a nice lady & now have an earlier appointment. x

SchroSawMummyRidingSantaClaus · 22/11/2012 17:45

That isn't sill Jools. :( I hope you are okay and the scan goes okay. x

Calmisthemantra · 22/11/2012 18:11

Not at all silly jools

I've got myself a pregnancy treat that'll hopefully help with ms. Graze boxes! I've already edited the list I can receive so they all should be nice and tasty. Lots of little tasty (largely healthy) snacks Grin

TopDonkey · 22/11/2012 19:10

Anyone else experiencing painful cramps? I've not had any bleeding just (TMI sorry) quite a lot of yellow discharge. The pain is more on the left but I do sometimes feel it on the right.

I'm not sure it this is normal as it's my first so if anyone can reassure me, it would be a massive worry gone!

Hope everyone is having a good pregnancy!

princessllama · 22/11/2012 19:27

Topdonkey- think your symptoms arefine- as long as there's no brown or red spots. The cramping seems quite common and can be from the ovary that the egg came from. Dont panic

MerryBlessings · 22/11/2012 19:49

Hi ladies,

Tentatively stepping aboard at 5w+1 with DDC (holy crap I'm gonna have TWO kids) EDD 24th July.

Your posts are making me laugh and I'm so relieved I'm not the only one feeling bloated. I honestly look 4 months preg and bought some mat clothes today Confused. Husband gasped when he saw me today and said "wow, you're big" so I told hi m it was just wind to which he replied "a bad case of the Donald's eh. Lol!

Had bad ms until 20 weeks with ds but so far feel good. Trying not to let myself think that it's going to be better this time as it didn't get going until 6.5 weeks last time. I'm still in the phase of enjoying every symptom as it means the sesame seed is still in there.

Feels really different second time around. You know how amazing having a child is but also how long pregnancy is and what early days we are in. I had forgotten how boring being preg is - sitting around too tired to do anything but really bored.

We just told my parents tonight as mum was asking for Xmas pressies and I thought what a shame it would be if she bought me things that don't fit or I can't use. Hoping that I can keep it to myself for a while yet but at the size of my belly I don't think so!

Re little twinges in ovaryish region, am getting loads of those and from my experience is normal and everything stretching. Had throughout preg w DS and was one of the reasons I thought I might be preg.

It feels so surreal to be putting this out there! Am totally rambling apols

MB

ArkadyRose · 22/11/2012 19:54

Heya MerryBlessings - looks like we're due-dates mates - I'm 5w1d too. Smile This one's my 4th though - the other three are 20, 18 & 5, all girls.

CottonSock · 22/11/2012 20:02

Hi all.. I had a killer headache today that woke me up at 5am and just about manage to swallow some paracetamol and get myself to work late, but it was tough.. Anyway, I think I'm dehydrated and so went to Asda and got a load of squash / juice / fizzy things galore.
Want to report that pink grapefruit and barley squash is lush. Like flat lilt. Will try and drink many more glasses before bed (and then pee all night no doubt).

You would not believe my work is giving out tins of pilchards on a health drive! errrrrgghhhh no thanks. Last month was fruit, so much better.

Howling gale here. Skipping my night class with feeling rough as an excuse. It's a photography course and this week is flash stuff.. arghh bright lights.. no thanks.. photographerlady will be looking for you for tips if there is any clue in your name???

Follow up scan for me tomorrow since my spotting during week 6.. 9 weeks tomorrow... will time ever speed up. belly getting nice and round though :)

photographerlady · 22/11/2012 20:26

cotton oh flashguns? I work in tv but also have a wedding/portrait business. What sort of night course you doing? Hoping with the baby and the moving will spend my days doing photography full time.

photographerlady · 22/11/2012 21:34

What a night! Boiler breaks down and the DH is away. It's just me with the two cats under three layers of blankets :(

Tashtastic · 22/11/2012 21:40

Hi all,
Have been skulking about keeping up with the goings on. Hope everyone is feeling better. jools sounds like your epu are being supportive and helpful.

Not much to report here. Eating like a horse cos trying to hide the constant nausea- might need to switch to polos! Booking appointment on 11th dec- it's ages away! But got all my info from midwives and good news is that they now do nuchal fold measurements on the NHS in our area (I had to have it done privately with DS)

Off to bed soon but will no doubt be awake at 5am

BoyMeetsWorld · 22/11/2012 23:09

Really interesting reading all your symptoms...I honestly don't even feel preggers other than occasional period / straining type pains which get me worrying. Im only 4 weeks 5 days though - maybe its too early? X

SchroSawMummyRidingSantaClaus · 22/11/2012 23:11

BoyMeetsWorld I don't have any symptoms either (or even feel pregnant) apart from the occasional cramp. I'm sure it will be fine. :)

marimama · 23/11/2012 03:45

Quick update: made it through thanksgiving without anyone catching on!! Hurrah! Thanks for good advice this morning.

Someone was asking about cramping. Can't remember who & can't look back while using iphone app. Anyway, crampy period pains normal i think. Had them last time, have them now. Wish i could stick a hot water bottle on my belly, but that's out, right?

My ms worse in evening, too. Just want to sleep but everything gets spinny!

chocolateteabag · 23/11/2012 07:34

Morning all -definitely need a Brew this morning, DS has a stinky cold and cough and kept me up all night. DP is up in Newcastle so we are home alone.
Just been to let the dog out and found she's managed to get into the lounge and crap. Cleaning up dog poo is not what you want to be doing with MS I tell you.
Now back in bed with DS in with me, he's trying to negotiate for the "pad"

boy - I had no MS with DS, and have really very little with this one so far, think we are just lucky!

MysteriousNameChange · 23/11/2012 07:46

Bah, a bit of blood when I went to the toilet this morning. I had just started to accept I might be pregnant.

I didn't do anything particularly physical yesterday so I don't have much hope. Will have to wait and see I suppose.

MysteriousNameChange · 23/11/2012 07:46

Forgot to say hope everyone else is well.

jools70 · 23/11/2012 08:03

Mysteriousnamechange I hope all will be ok, how far along are you?

Anyone getting night sweats, I've had them for the past three nights?

Isitme1 · 23/11/2012 09:52

Jools I hope everything is all good.
A member of family had a bleed around the the sac (I think) she had a nasty experience of hemorrhaging and being told she was going for d c in the followingday but refused it and was dosed up on morphine. I think she bled for around 4 months and was told theres still a chance she could bleed more and was put on aspirin to stop clots forming in the placenta.
Anyway she is due next month.
Baby nice and healthy and so is mother.
She has regular scans and everything is fine.
Hopefully that will put everyone who has had a bit of a bleed mind at rest.

Everything going ok so far here.
Up half the night on the loo without fail lolso the ssymptoms are progressing

X
Hope everyone has a good day
X

MysteriousNameChange · 23/11/2012 10:01

I'm seven weeks Jools, I've had night sweats too, one of my only symptoms.

I don't know whether to try and get a scan somewhere or just wait and see.
