orange Im really sorry your having a tough time. I was in a similar position with last pg, my ds was away till sixth month and I was relatively new to the area and didnt know a lot of people. Its difficult, hope you feel better soon!

Im still not eating, getting used to feeling sick and dizzy all the time! Still only managing toast and corn flakes. Midwife appointment next week, looking forward to that! Waiting to see if I can get scan before christmas, which I should, if not will go for private.

Persuasion · 20/11/2012 11:15

orange sorry you feel crap. Paracetamol and hot drinks? It's about all we can do really isn't it!

jools I had brown spotting last week, as others have said I spoke to epu who were reassuring. When it didn't settle after a few days I went to my gp (and played it up a little) and got an early scan, with a heartbeat. I had a little more yesterday but am trying not to worry, apparently it's very common. For me it seems to come if I've been very busy/walking a lot so I'm wondering if is actually from my cervix?

Hi butterfly, any idea when you're due?

I'm surviving on ginger biscuits. I can eat anything plain, but can't finish dinner, yet am hungry after an hour. I'm loving boiled eggs though, isn't it strange!

GeorgieWilson · 20/11/2012 11:20

Morning,

Welcome to all the new people - there is a good gang of us now!

Glad to hear I'm not the only one who is ridiculously tearful - I was almost teary yesterday because I struggled to find the parking disc in the car! Honestly!

Orange hope you feel better soon, its just pants knowing you can't take much to help.

I'm rather envious of everyone having early scans - I live in the wilds of t'up north (well not really wild but still miles from the big cities) and can't find anywhere close that does them! I've not got my first appointment at the midwifes until the 10th December which feels like forever to wait - but crossing fingers for scan before christmas!

jools70 · 20/11/2012 12:36

Went to A&E, Girls we still have a heartbeat, the nurse said the bleeding could be the lining or implantation she said its not uncommon.
I burst into tears, i was prepared for bad news but not good!!!

chocolateteabag · 20/11/2012 12:45

Jools - that is great news! Hopefully you can relax and not worry quite so much now

Georgie whereabouts are you? I'm in north North Yorks - currently working from home in a very wind battered house!

wifey6 · 20/11/2012 13:18

jools...that's such wonderful news Smile

orangebubbles · 20/11/2012 14:24

Great news Jools Smile

Thanks everyone, am just munching my way through some Satsuma's in the hope that a good vit c boost will help!

GeorgieWilson · 20/11/2012 14:39

Good news Jools!

Chocolate I'm in Cumbria - so not too far away, Its pouring and blowing a hoolie here too!

photographerlady · 20/11/2012 14:58

jools that's great news!

Georgie phew thought you might say Salisbury. I am moving there in a few months and so nervous moving somewhere new. I am not really a girl friend person, I think that's what scares me the most about being a mom in a new area. I mean I have no problem with ladies I just have nothing in common with them :p

jools70 · 20/11/2012 15:17

Thank you all.
I have another scan next Tuesday so I pray this little one will stick around.

photographerlady - I understand what you mean, I'm going to struggle with the mother groups etc, my sisters are born friend makers, me on the other hand I have always struggled, and to be honest I'm not sure I want to do all that, at 42 I know I'm going to be the oldest mum lol

Bessie123 · 20/11/2012 16:01

bessie123. Did you also have bleeding, any cramping?

butterflyexperience · 20/11/2012 17:38

Hi
I'm due July 22nd
Currently 5 weeks + 2, however look like 4 months! I'm really bloated!

chocolateteabag · 20/11/2012 18:38

Hi bessie and butterfly!
bessie - have you had a scan? If you've had bleeding you may get offered an early one if you call your nearest EPU?

Georgie - see what you mean about being miles from a private scan, My family are in West Cumbria - on the coast and it's a long drive to visit them!

Bessie123 · 20/11/2012 18:57

I had bleeding and cramping but no clots and cramping not too bad. Had a scan, saw heartbeat and where the egg came from on my ovary. Nurse said it might have become a cyst and ruptured, otherwise she couldn't see a reason for the bleeding. I have had a mc before so didn't want to add myself too early. I am 8 weeks tomorrow.

Hope you are all doing ok, especially those of you on your own; it must be hard to look after a do on your own when you are exhausted and nauseous.

BoyMeetsWorld · 20/11/2012 19:40

Well that was depressing...just went to see GP about medications I can take for migraine during pregnancy. I asked at what stage I make the booking appt. she kept just telling me how early along I am & that there's no point until later 'as many don't make it' Sad how optimistic.

TomDaleysTrunks · 20/11/2012 19:42

Hi all. Can I join? Just had a BFP, can't quite believe it. Grin

wifey6 · 20/11/2012 19:46

Boy that's very negative of them. The first doctor I saw was very much like that. Sad
Tom...welcome & congratulations Smile

Grannyapple · 20/11/2012 19:48

Yay...congrats tom Grin

TomDaleysTrunks · 20/11/2012 19:50

Thanks! I'm so shocked. I thought it was stress making me want to vomit. Grin
Edd 23rd July!

BoyMeetsWorld · 20/11/2012 19:51

Congrats Tom!

I know Sad I presume it's 8 weeks before I can darken their doors again

Persuasion · 20/11/2012 19:51

Urghhh boy how horrible of them. most do make it so it seems really unnecessary to worry you like that. I recommend seeing a different GP next time!

Welcome Tom, any idea when you're due?

bessie and Jools heartbeats are great news! Fingers crossed for all of us that bleeding/spotting is meaningless.

I'm starting getting little brief stabbing pains in my groin occasionally. It's my first. Could it be round ligament already? Anyone got any ideas what's going on?

TomDaleysTrunks · 20/11/2012 19:56

I think 23rd persuasion. I've got one DD who is just 20 months. I had a lot of pelvic pain in the first trimester - was everything stretching I think.

elliejjtiny · 20/11/2012 20:19

Congratulations to the newbies and to those who have seen heartbeats.

I've had a fried egg sandwich today and I blame you lot for leading me astray Grin.

DS3 has started with a cold and his asthma is playing up so looks like I'm going to be trying to fit in a GP appointment tomorrow as well as 3 school runs if I can't get it under control. No doubt I will get it soon as he has been sneezing on me all day. Just been to check on him and he looks like a right little scruff with snot on his face and calpol on his pj's and in his hair (he keeps forgetting he likes calpol and tries to fight it).

I'm assuming it's just paracetamol and hot drinks we can have for colds or has there been new discoveries since last time I was pregnant?

OhGood · 20/11/2012 20:35

Hi all

jools that's fabulous news, how are you feeling?

Glad to hear I am not the only person sobbing my way through these first few weeks. And retching. Honestly I cannot eat anything any more. Though cold sausage roll sounds oddly appealing thinkingof4. Not so sure about fried egg sandwiches.

More distastrously I have now not had a hot drink for 2 weeks. Hot apple juice and hot grapefruit cordial both did not work.

And have started the big commute into the big new job, and it's been very tough. I get off the train at home and have to scrape the energy together to try and give DD some proper time.

But DH has got a job, massive relief.
