Good luck panda. I have to wait til week 13 now for my booking appointment, it's driving me batty January is so far away.

Thinkingof4 · 19/11/2012 17:03

Hello all and congratulations to the newbies!
Yy to the vivid dreams that is probably my strongest symptom! Although I did struggle to do up my jeans this morning Blush only 7+4!!
I do have nausea and having to EAT like there's no tomorrow to keep it under control. But of course only certain foods. At the moment my favourite thing is cold sausage rolls, followed closely by supernoodles and green grapes (must be crunchy)
So at least I'm still getting some of my 5 a day!
So 'fess up, what crap is everyone else having to eat to get through the day??

Ps really glad the scan went well panda
I have mine on Saturday and feeling nervous already.

Isitme1 · 19/11/2012 17:29

Aww panda thar bought tears to my eyes.I bet it was amazing seeing little panda. Bless.

Ive had some niggly pain and my god your right about the over stretching its a pain in the ass.

As far as im aware jsers are just shaggers?

Thinking about booking a private scan. Theres a place nearby that does the scan and bloods for 60 which is pretty good
X

chocolateteabag · 19/11/2012 17:39

Finally home, tis a horrid windy day in the NorthEast today.
I have a scan next Tuesday - called the EPU and spoke to a lovely lady about my spotting.
I've been getting the pains on one side and hadn't thought about a cyst on my ovary but that would make sense as the feeling isn't that sore

I've got indigestion and still can't face chocolate -as my names suggests I am normally a BIG fan of the brown stuff.

Good to hear your scan went well Panda - good luck to everyone having a scan over the next week. Now can't wait for mine (but also quite scared at the same time)

ArkadyRose · 19/11/2012 17:48

Thinkingof4 Mostly I'm subsisting on milk, pitta bread and fried egg sandwiches - can't seem to get enough of them. Anything else just makes me feel queasy at the thought, though I've not actually thrown up yet. Early days though, and from my past pregnancies I know that once I hit 6 weeks I'll have no joy keeping anything down past 7pm. Except fried egg sandwiches. No, I don't get it either. Hmm

thinkingpositivethoughts · 19/11/2012 18:09

Just scoffed a massive bag of pork scratchings, not sure that its quite a healthy snack I should be aiming for but loved it! Have also been eating Pringles so will clearly be the size of a house by 12 weeks.

Have weird achey legs and lower back which is a period sign so on serious pant watch! But then I could just be getting the flu or something. Also I'm crazy tired. Fingers crossed for seat on the train home!

wifey6 · 19/11/2012 18:20

panda...that's wonderful news!! Congratulations.
Good luck to all going for scans this week.
Hoping for an early scan at 8-9 weeks & then dating scan at 11-11+5 weeks.
6+5 today so a little way off yet.

butterflyexperience · 19/11/2012 18:28

Have found out this evening that I am expecting dc3 in July so shall join in if that's ok?

wifey6 · 19/11/2012 18:30

Welcome butterfly...congratulations Smile

butterflyexperience · 19/11/2012 18:38

Thanks wifey Smile
I look forward getting to know you all Smile

MightBeMad · 19/11/2012 19:14

Yet! Congrats panda! Welcome wifey. In a mad work/exams/poorly toddler panic here but at least jo pg symptoms has som advantages - I'm not too sick to work into the wee small hours Sad

MightBeMad · 19/11/2012 19:14

D'oh! Excuse typos!

orangebubbles · 19/11/2012 19:20

Evening all, welcome and congrat's newbies Smile

Still no extra symptoms here but still knackered!

Grin thinking I don't recall pork scratchings on the list of healthy things to eat but they're not on the 'no' list either!

Arkady if you mention fried egg sarnies again I'll be forced to make one and as I don't want to pile on the pounds I shall then be forced to hold you responsible for my downfall Grin

elliejjtiny · 19/11/2012 19:35

Welome butterfly

8 weeks today Grin

I find eating junk really helps the nausea. I really want a bacon roll right now with lots of tomato sauce and a fried egg sandwich sounds nice too. I also really want to watch the lion the witch and the wardrobe and harry potter as well. I always want to watch those when I'm pregnant, not sure why. Maybe it's the dvd version of comfort food.

ArkadyRose · 19/11/2012 21:33

Hoist by my own petard, I am now craving fried egg sandwiches again. OH thinks this is hysterically funny but the rotter won't make them for me and insists I have to make my own.

Tashtastic · 19/11/2012 22:19

I have come to the conclusion I am not having cravings as such, just using pregnancy as an excuse for eating things I usually try to limit or exclude from my diet. E.g. chocolate, fried food (especially bacon/ sausages), crisps.

Mizar · 20/11/2012 00:13

Thanks Chocolate, knowing it wasn't just me has made me feel a lot better.

Absolutely no symptoms today though, unless being a bit hungrier counts - although that's probably just me being greedy.

Excited by all the scan news - it's making me want to do an early one... Will wait to see what date I get, if it's in January I'm not sure I can manage through Christmas and New Year without blabbing or being outed.

jools70 · 20/11/2012 07:35

Can anyone put my mind at ease, had brown discharge the past two days, not a lot but enough to worry me, last night I didn't sleep too well as I've had cramping.
We've recently moved and I've not registered with my new doctor yet.
I could call my old surgery?
Any suggestions x

orangebubbles · 20/11/2012 08:37

jools brown is almost certainly fine, indicates old blood. The cramps are a bloody nightmare but you move from implantation cramps to stretching cramps that are all fine. Can you say a bit more about the cramping? Are they constant like a period pain cramp or do they come and go like intermittent cramping?

chocolateteabag · 20/11/2012 08:59

Hi Jools - I would agree with Orange that brown blood is old and therefore usually not too much of a worry.
EPU lady told me that you can get small bleeds from the cervix at any time which would come out as either red straight away or brown over a few days.

Do you have an EPU near to you? (Early Pregnancy unit) I would give them a call today - hopefully can just put your mind at rest. I did this yesterday mainly because I havn't booked in with the MW's yet and there is usually someone on the EPU desk at our hospital.
Otherwise yes ring your old surgery and ask to speak to a GP or MW (maybe they would call you back if not free just then) I have also done this when pg with DS before I know about the EPU near us.

Oh - to find an EPU search on maternity services in your area - should be part of your nearest hospital or hospital group.

RacquelWelsh · 20/11/2012 09:03

Thanks for the welcomes. Efme, yes we plan to tell people over Christmas following the scan on Christmas Eve (all being well).

jools70 I was told that brown blood is old and as orangebubbles says is almost certainly fine. If you're worried, you could ring your old surgery, presume you haven't been allocated a midwife yet?

Babycentre link here about cramping.

photographerlady · 20/11/2012 09:32

Morning ladies. Anyone else turned into a complete softy? I cried this morning when the husband went to the coffee shop with me (we both have a long commute and usually rushing about) I then cried watching the iplayer for the rest the journey. I cried last night watching the news. I am going to be a riot the next 7 months for my husband.

SundaySunshine · 20/11/2012 09:35

Hi all,
I haven't written for a while as I've been feeling proper poorly with constant MS. I was bemoaning the lack of symptoms then it hit me like a train at 6 weeks. I've been going to bed with DD at 7.30 every night, and can barely feed myself. We've all been living on a diet of toasted sandwiches which is about all I can manage to cook/eat without throwing up on the spot. I'm really hoping that it eases off around 12 weeks, but with DD I had it until 17 wks Sad.

Jools, I've been getting crampy pains too, but I suspect it might be related to digestion issues due to my rubbish diet at the moment.

Anyways, sorry about the whinge, hope everyone else is feeling ok.

SundaySunshine · 20/11/2012 09:40

Oh me too! I've been crying at the Asda Christmas adverts!!! And at random things at work, very embarrassing. And of course at all the scan news on this thread Smile

orangebubbles · 20/11/2012 10:07

photgrapher I am feeling very tearful today. Pesky hormones making everything seem all doom and gloom. It's my wedding anniversary and DH is miles away (for those who don't know my story, he's away with work until April). I HATE where I live, we moved here 18months ago and I feel isolated and lonely, I have always made friends so easily but for some reason this place just make me miserable. I ended up on the phone to DH last night in a puddle of tears. To cap it all I've woken up with a full on cold which mostly is manageable accept the sore throat that feels like I have sandpaper down there! Arrrggghhh! [feeling sorry for myself emotion]
