Thanks mysterious I think I'm maybe 2-2.5 wks tbh. Twins run in my family so I'm a bit paranoid about that (mum had a twin brother)..would obviously be a blessing if it turned out that way...but scared to think about the practicalities of that scenario as we are 500 miles from home & family.

Work do sounds well awkward...given my Glasgow accent, I think they would have got the picture that I wasn't drinking it, lol!

orangebubbles · 16/11/2012 08:59

I'm 37 in March (Granny Im 21st, you?) too and if anyone suggests I'm passed I'd they'll get slapped silly Grin

Was feeling sorry for myself yesterday at total and utter lack of symptoms but woken up and boobs are feeling lovely and tender! About time too!
Also might have had the rage with DH yesterday too! We were skyping and I burst into tears and said to ignore me because I'm hormonal. He sent me a lovely email saying he loved and missed me and we just needed to be strong, etc etc. I then called him an arse in my reply and went off on a rant that I didn't cry on purpose and I would be strong if these pesky hormones would just stop turning me into a mess! Poor DH he was only trying to keep me going.

How's everyone else?

Welcome newbies Smile

Isitme1 · 16/11/2012 09:04

Thank you for adding me thinkingpositive

Hope everyone has a good morning.

Those who cant eat due to feeling sick how on earth do you go on.
Im a pig lol I used to love food but just makes me sick looking at food.

A bit about me...
Ive got ds who has turned 2 a few months ago. Hes got health problems so a bit worried about how we're going to handle hospitals and all...

X
And congratulations to everyone Grin

orangebubbles · 16/11/2012 09:39

mysterious that made me chuckle. I like that you tried to soak up a whole shot with tissue paper. Here's my tip, when the pressure gets too much offer to buy a round, ask the barman to give you x amount of shots of whatever and 1 shot of tap water... tell everyone it's vodka! Similarly, order soda water with ice and lemon and tell people it's gin and tonic (if they're rude enough to ask). I got away with that for months last time round Grin

MightBeMad · 16/11/2012 09:45

Morning all! isitme I sort of wish I had that problem. No sickness at all here (or any symptoms in fact) but I keep telling myself it's still early days. Good luck on finding something ou fancy eating. Little and often is meant to be the way?

I got a good strong positive on a FRER test today so I'm trying not to worry about lack of symptoms (I had a symptomless mc before my dd).

mysterious that sounds like my idea of a nightmare right now!!

granny I reckon it was probably the strength of your pee. If it's reassuring I had a couple of hog blood tests very early in my last pg and the results came back above average for triplets !! Only one healthy baby in there though Grin

MightBeMad · 16/11/2012 09:48

HCG! Damn autocorrect!

photographerlady · 16/11/2012 10:17

granny I know your levels tend to increase every two days so maybe they just had a jump.

Niktasha · 16/11/2012 11:32

Hello. Just joining. Due 19th with my second.

esme80 · 16/11/2012 12:19

Welcome everyone new!

Isitme I know how you feel! I love food, but the thought of everything makes me sick! The problem is I feel worse when I go too long without eating it gets worse. So every couple of hours I force myself to have some toast or something. Still feel rubbish though...
Do you have a lot of family/friends that can help you when you need to go to hospital etc? A close friend of mine, in another country, has a 3 year old and had a little girl in july who has health problems and has to go to hospital several times a week. She is lucky to have her parents closeby who help her a lot, and while it was hard at first they have all gotten into a routine that works for them and are managing well!

ArkadyRose · 16/11/2012 12:45

I got a positive on Wednesday (very faint but there), and retested this morning & it was positive again. Not long got back from the GP; she's marking me as high-risk as it's just 2 months since I last had an m/c, and that was my 3rd (my mother had 10 m/cs before she had me, and my youngest sister has had 8 - definitely runs in the family). If this one sticks, it'll be child number 4 - and definitely the last one, as I'll be 40 next month! Looks like this one will be 24th July.

I may be a bit of an "old hand" at this by now, but I don't think I'll start to relax until this one is safely into the 2nd trimester.

jools70 · 16/11/2012 15:34

As I've just move I need to register with a new doctor, do you think I should tell the receptionist i'm 6+2 weeks preg so I get an appointment soon?
When do you normally get to see a midwife?
Sorry new to this, feel a bit silly at 42 not knowing what to do Smile

orangebubbles · 16/11/2012 15:40

Jools don't be daft, it's very much area dependent. I would ask reception what their process is and explain you are a first time mum to be and your dates. They'll start the ball rolling, whatever that may be. That said, some GP practice's are a bit slower than one might like so don't be afraid to annoy chase them up!

Guavasforbreakfast · 16/11/2012 17:04

This thread is really getting me through the early weeks, it seems like time is standing still! I've always thought pregnancy was supposed to be an enjoyable experience but this waiting game is awful!
I'm now panicking about stress at work, I'm a teacher with a boisterous class in a high-pressure school and I'm worried that it will make me mc again. And that in turn makes me more stressed at work - vicious cycle :-/
Any tips from old hands at how to get through it?

ArkadyRose · 16/11/2012 17:34

Guavasforbreakfast Whatever may cause m/c, I honestly don't think stress is as big a factor as some people seem to think. With my last pregnancy (D3), I had to cope with moving home twice in the six months, plus my ex-husband (who was also my best friend) was killed in a motorbike accident when I was just 10 weeks pregnant. If stress was likely to cause m/c I think I would have lost her then, but I didn't.

It will drain your energy reserves though, so you'll likely find yourself even more exhausted than just pregnancy alone would make you, so be sure to get as much rest when you can and delegate as far as you are able.
There's a Pregnant after m/c thread here on Mumsnet you might find helpful and reassuring.

Guavasforbreakfast · 16/11/2012 17:54

Arkady what an awful thing to happen, I'm so sorry. Thanks so much for your reassurance and the link to that thread, I feel a million times better now Smile

CottonSock · 16/11/2012 17:56

Hi all, just adding myself to the list. A lot to catch up on and welcome new people. I have been away on hols which was a good distraction. Had spotting one day, but tried not to freak out as the EPU told me to expect it.
One week to next scan, dating scanning and booking in date 12th December :)
Feel a bit sick some days, but not every day.. not feeling too bad really.

Hello Grin Have had a (v recent!) BFP Smile due 29 July so bringing up the rear (my DD who is 18m was 4wks early though so you never know!) Can relate to all the anxieties - I became hypothyroid after DD so will need that watching & meds sorted, had hyperemesis & spd carrying her & lost twins at 12 weeks in our first pregnancy Sad It's ALL worth it in the end though. Let the rollercoaster begin!!

MrsWildermac · 17/11/2012 09:29

Morning...how is everyone today?

Panicking a bit as my sore boobs which wet really my only symptom have disappeared! (Not the boobs...just the soreness!). POAS on Thursday and got v strong positive so trying not to panic too much, just really hope nothings wrong! Anyone else have a lack of symptoms?

Grannyapple · 17/11/2012 09:37

Morning ladies!

mrsWilder I'm the same...I've just caved & booked a private early scan for 15/12 (will be 8.5 wks then). Did one last time as had no symptoms so found it v reassuring then.

In saying that I think the tiredness might be beginning to hit now....was shattered yesterday afternoon & feel a bit tired again now (tho have been awake since 5.30am for no particular reason)...

MrsWildermac · 17/11/2012 09:53

Glad I'm not alone Grannyapple...thinking about it I was exhausted yesterday and v emotional...cried on the phone to DH at lunchtime as I was so tired and wanted to sleep but couldn't as was at work...

Exciting about your early scan...its less than a month away Smile

MightBeMad · 17/11/2012 10:21

mrswild no symptoms here either. Fx everything's okay!

Morning all!

Tashtastic · 17/11/2012 10:27

Morning ladies, I am also not having much in the way of symptoms except tiredness. 6 weeks tomorrow.

I got my "appointment" with the midwives. Stupid "choose and book" system. I have to call someone on Tuesday at 11.30 and they will ask me some medical questions before booking an appointment to actually see someone. What happened to human contact? Not sure if this is because is is my second pregnancy or because they are trying to save money!

Have a good weekend everybody

ArkadyRose · 17/11/2012 11:56

I've been getting queasiness already; can't face breakfast at all and some food smells are making me really nauseous. This morning though I woke up with a real hankering for a fried egg sandwich - which had my OH laughing, because with D3 I had real cravings for fried egg sandwiches right through the first two trimesters. Including at 1am on one particular occasion - the rotter made me go and make it myself!

Isitme1 · 17/11/2012 12:24

Guava is there someone there who you could tell and when it gets a bit too much they could be your support there?
We are here too :)
Akardy im sorry to hear about you going through such a tough time. Hope this time round its a looooot easier

How is everyone doing? ?
Ive had the cramps, not wanting to eat, feeling sick and baby brain (really bad)

X

elliejjtiny · 17/11/2012 12:40

My symptoms today are sore boobs, bit of nausea and tiredness. I'm 7+5 today. I'm going to ring the midwife this week as I'm fed up with waiting for my GP appointment. I'm going to ask for my booking in appointment to be delayed until after the dating scan, hope that will be ok. I just can't bring myself to talk about all the stuff they ask you about in the booking in when I don't know if the baby is ok or not, I hope she understands.
