welcome glup.

Feeling confident today and I've added myself to the list, have added Isitme1 too.

Called the midwife and booked in for the 28th Nov - managed to get the same lady I saw before the MC which is good as she was lovely.

Now the only thing to do is wait! easier said than done - I can't believe it was less than a week ago I POAS for the first time

GP appointment went well but was told I wouldn't have a booking appointment til week 10-11.. That's ages away! Glad my GP is a nice lady and shared in the excitement.

photographerlady · 15/11/2012 10:06

scratch that the form says booking appointment at 12 weeks. Does that mean I will have my scan the same day?

esme80 · 15/11/2012 10:22

Hi all!
Well I feel absolutely horrid. Much worse than with DS, just feel sick all the time! Cant manage to eat much besides toast and crackers. Oh well, 2 weeks till midwife appointment.
Going to inlaws this weekend, dont know how sociable Im going to be able to be...

Grannyapple · 15/11/2012 12:48

Ha ha slouchy I'm the same...picked up some more tests today for use tonight & next week...doc appt isn't until 27th nov for me....I guess that's the disadvantage of finding out early....

No real symptoms here either...keep thinking I feel queasy then think I am imagining things....

MightBeMad · 15/11/2012 13:26

Hello all, can I tentatively join you?? I got my BFP nearly a week ago but haven't quite dared to believe it (still don't really). But as of today I have officially missed my period (and the CBD says pregnant 2-3 weeks), I'm considering myself upduffed! Grin This will (all being well) by baby no.2. DD is 14 months.

It was a natural conception, after 9 years and the two failed IVF we have given up hope and began to relive our lives without thinking Will I Won't I every month. With the house move from Lon to Kent I have had a lot to keep me occupied but I do think we have been less stressed since moving, I really believe this is what nade the difference.
Now I'm stressed again as I am on a 12 month work contract due to end in March, a bit worrying!!
Hope all the ladies on here are well xx

chocolateteabag · 15/11/2012 14:03

Ugh! so I called the surgery and managed to get the next free booking in slot they had - ON DECEMBER 11th!
Then went to the loo and had a couple of tiny clots and some browny red cm. Not really crampy and no actual red blood. But feeling a little bit Shock

Daft as I had 2 bleeds with DS 1 so could all be normal, or could be losing it. I guess either way I can't do much about it can I except worry and keep going to the loo every 2 mins to check

Purplemonster · 15/11/2012 14:31

Try not to worry too much chocolate - I had the same a couple of weeks ago but it didn't last and I still feel pregnant so I'm refusing to worry about it.

Thundercatz · 15/11/2012 14:40

Yay! Just got booking in appointment through for midwife! Smile the letter says I should expect to be at the clinic for at least 3 hours for this visit?! Confused
Does anyone know why I might take that long?
The letter just refers to them asking medical history questions, urine sample and possible physical exam.. Does it really take 3 hours? Just a bit concerned as I will need to make excuses at work. Thanks!

chocolateteabag · 15/11/2012 14:49

Thanks Purple - my sensible head says what will be, will be and I remember the two bleeds I had at 5 and 6 weeks. Will just have to sit on hands and wait it out.

Thundercatz - you may not need that long. From memory, they ask alot of questions about everything, and give you lots of time to ask questions. I guess they go on lowest common denominator time wise.

I also found that my MW's (lovely ladies BTW) worked to their own sense of urgency - which was ssslllllllooooooowwwww Grin. In my booking in appt I sat there straight out of back to back meetings tapping my foot and getting frustrated with it all. You will just have to go with the flow.

MightBeMad · 15/11/2012 14:49

chocolate try not to panic too much, I had spotting/bleeding all the way through my first pg until 23 weeks and everything was fine and chances are if you had it before this may be normal for you, but why don't you get an emergency GP appointment and see if they'll refer you to the EPU for a scan to reassure yourself. If they won't scan then maybe ask them to do a couple of repeat blood tests to check your HCG levels are rising normally. I had this done before and found it very reassuring.

Thunder do you know if they are doing your scan at the same time as the booking in? I think my first booking in appointment was scheduled to be two hours (and I think it was that long). They ask a whole myriad of questions about your, your partner's and your respective families medical histories, and even have boxes to tick about domestic violence and things like that! Plus all the eating, exercise 'rules' to go through, weighing you, feeling your tummy, blood pressure, sometimes blood tests as well as urine tests, discussing/deciding where you are going to have the baby. It can take a while.... Oh, and in my experience the appointments never run on time!

Thundercatz · 15/11/2012 15:08

Thanks chocolate and mad for the feedback...
It's crazy because they say at least 3 hours but it must include potential waiting times as you both say.. Just a bit nervous re work as I will be at least 2-3 hours late in plus the following week i will be leaving at 4:30 one day for my early scan! I'm not v good at lying and covering my tracks even though it's a white lie.
choc I will try and take your advice re going with the flow though it is entirely against my character! I will need to learn.
mad they have specifically said no scan will be done, and I will only be 7+ weeks at the appointment.

photographerlady · 15/11/2012 17:09

Is anyone else extremely bloated? All my other symptoms have seemed to subside but I am still so so bloated and had sharp gasy pains. Geez why didn't someone tell me how much of a picnic this would be.

princessllama · 15/11/2012 17:51

hello,so much to catch up on. i have been reading after the kids are asleep and then falling asleep before managing to post.
i too was blubbing at amazing stories. -and i almost cried too when i realised dh had snaffled the small piece of steak in the fridge that i'd been looking forward to.
bessie i hope you are ok, not fun.
it seems v trivial in the light of worries, i am feeling sick 24 hours a day and like isitme also hungry. i am feeling quite down and am having alot of bleak moments when i wonder why i decided to do this again when ds is almost 5 and dd is 6. then i feel really bad for feeling like that. my best mate told my mum by accident about the pg. i hadn't told her because i didn't think she'd be enthusiastic and i didn't feel ready to handle it. and, guess what, i was right. hopefully in 9 months she will be, but it made me sad. i am now living in fear of seeing mil this weekend because i know she'll be unenthusiastic and i really really dont want to see it.

princessllama · 15/11/2012 17:55

i've added myself but not entirely sure of due date, could be week earlier

I'm so sorry to hear you have had such a crappy day, princessllama. I hope your friend is suitably apologetic.

I think everyone has those 'oh shit' moments it doesnt matter how long you've waited or what your circumstances are. It's a big thing but it'll be worth all the sickness and negativity in the end.

RancerDoo · 15/11/2012 21:04

Hi everyone, can I join?

I got my BFP over a week ago but have been keeping it quiet because I've had ectopics in the past. But my early scan this week confirmed it's in the right place so now I can tell you lot! Now I just have to get through the next 34.5 weeks...

This will hopefully be my third child and I'm a bit surprised because I rather thought I was past it (am 37).
No symptoms just yet, unless you count a total inability to concentrate and a raging need for haribo starmix.

Stupid ipad won't let me add myself to the list - could someone do it for me? I think I am due on the 15th but those calculators don't seem entirely consistent!

princessllama · 15/11/2012 21:52

Hi rancerdoo, welcome onto the thread. Brilliant you've seen a heartbeat.
Thinkingpositivethoughts, thank you i feel much less awful just from reading your kind post, have calmed down a bit

RancerDoo · 15/11/2012 22:01

Oh, not a heartbeat yet, just a blob. Heartbeat scan is in a fortnight. Fingers crossed.
Princessllama, don't let other people get you down. I'm sure they'll come around before long and they'll all love the baby when it's here. I have wobbles about this baby too (how will I cope with three?) but we've got ages to get used to the idea!

Tashtastic · 15/11/2012 22:17

3 hours seems ridiculous thunder I am sure the mws are catering to the lowest common denominator as chocolate says.

Glad you're feeling better about things princess

Welcome rancer - you are most definitely not past it. I am 38 so you can't be. I have eaten haribo and randoms for lunch today Wink

emblosion · 15/11/2012 22:39

Hello all, just checking in.

My mums been visiting this week so not been online much, looks like I've a lot of catching up to do!

Hello to all the new ladies, sorry to everyone that's feeling sick. Not much to report here, hoping to get to see my gp tomorrow & get the ball rolling re: booking in etc. Round here (im in northern ireland) they do scan & booking in together around 12 weeks, so I bet mine's not till after xmas. Seems like an age away....

Grannyapple · 16/11/2012 07:57

Morning ladies!

Defo not past it...I'm 37 in march Sad

Random question ladies...got my bfp on Sunday with a digi (1-2 wks)..did another one last night (too long til scan!) & it said 3+ wks...in the space of 4/5 days?! I know pregnancy doesn't follow logic (like my brain...well, sometimes!)..but is that right?! Was thinking it would go 2-3 wks first...

So any advice/ suggestions from you learned ladies is must appreciated!

I'm sure I should know this, given I've already got a ds!

MysteriousNameChange · 16/11/2012 08:34

It depends how pregnant you are grannyapple, maybe you were on the cusp of 1-2 weeks and 2+, and then doubled a few times and it shot up. Also it might depend on how dilute your wee was the first time. Do you know how many weeks you are?

As for me, I went to a work do last night and it was horrendous!

Fortunately we were running late and missed the champagne at the start. And there was wine on the table so I put a small amount in my glass and just didn't touch it and I don't think anyone noticed really.

BUT then someone on our table (who I didn't know), bought a round of shots. I said no a few times and he (and a colleague of mine), insisted I take one.

I held it, frantically thinking, shall I down it, shall I throw it on the floor? I ended up putting a tissue in it (don't laugh!), under the table, thinking it might soak it all up, but it only took about 1/5th the liquid.

I pretended (sort of), to down it but they noticed I hadn't had it and took the piss. Then they made another colleague down it instead.

It was a ridiculous amount of peer pressure for a bunch of adults, some of whom were strangers to each other. I clearly said no and they didn't care. And it was the sort of event where it was important for me to network, so I probably seemed a bit miserable though I was otherwise laughing and chatting.

Just hoping I don't have to go to any more events before the 12 week scan!
