TopDonkey...welcome & congratulations!

whitedaffodil · 13/11/2012 17:16

Hi all, hoping to add myself to the list. Had thought my EDD was 18 July (like photographerlady) but seem to get 19 July with MN due date calculator (with you Guavasforbreakfast)! First day of LMP was 12 Oct, but I may have put 11 Oct in on the weekend, was in a bit of a daze and debating with myself whether one counts late at night as that day or the next day! Does everybody else know the answer to that one and I just missed that lesson?

positive thoughts to everyone Smile

firstpost · 13/11/2012 20:24

Hi everyone

Cant' believe I am posting here really. My DS was born after years of infertility, 2 failed IVF cycles and finally with the help of the best fertility docs in the world (thankyou ARGC) He also had a twin we lost at 8 wks. We were told we would never concieve naturally.

So DP is leaving for ten and a half months of the next twelve with the army, he left three days ago. So then suddenly my tea tastes like dishwater and I remember that the only time that happened was when I was pregnant, then I realise the tampons have been sat unopened in the bathroom for a while so I POAS just to rule it out and not drive myself mad. Five tests later I accept I appear to be pregnant :)

It all feels surreal and fragile and unlikely and I cant help but prepare myself for bad news. I hope this baby stays but I just cant quite believe its here at all.

Best of luck to all of you, will sit and read the thread now!

orangebubbles · 13/11/2012 20:40

firstpost Congratulations, that post made me tearful, firstly what a triumph and secondly I am in exactly the same position. DH left on Saturday and will not be home until April, he is not in the army but his work takes him away for long periods. Looks like not only are we single parenting (how old is your DS? My DD is 13months), but we are going to go through our pregnancies without our DH's by our sides. Fingers crossed all is well for your miracle baby. Do you know your EDD?

Congrat's TopDonkey

Bessie any news?

Bessie123 · 13/11/2012 21:35

There are some lovely bfp stories on this thread but goodness, it must be tough doing it without your dhs. I think cbeebies would be on a lot in my house if I had to do it.

I had my scan at the hospital and they said everything is fine. They couldn't explain the bleeding and I saw the heartbeat. But I started bleeding a little again this evening, it's been 5 days of bleeding now so I am still not adding myself to the list just yet.

orangebubbles · 13/11/2012 22:13

Bessie That's great news and the odds are much improved once there is a heartbeat. Add yourself when you feel like it Smile

As for doing it without DH, I am a bit scared, especially as we only moved to this area 18months ago and I've been so busy I haven't had time to make that many friends and my family are a good 4hour drive away. Still, my mum and dad are amazing and they will come here and me there, they are already planning their life around supporting me (especially because my spine is unlikely to cope in the later stages). DH will come home for a couple of weeks in April and then come back again for the birth and then away again until September! There is a slim possibility I may get to fly out and see him some time in the new year. My DD has ants in her pants, always on the go leaving a trail of destruction, I'm already struggling to stay awake, so I think it's going to be a tiring few months.

MysteriousNameChange · 13/11/2012 22:50

What a story firstpost!

Also Bessie it is possible to bleed and come through it. I bled for 12 days, quite heavily, with my DS.

Adding self to list as well:

PS am still not feeling super pregnant. I was the same with DS so maybe just need to accept it but apart from the lack of period and heavy-feeling boobs I feel just like my normal self. Not very reassuring! Can't wait to find out when my scan might be.

esme80 · 14/11/2012 08:16

firstpost and orange when I was pregnant with ds my dh was away from 8 weeks to 6 months. That was difficult enough dealing with the emotions and eventually quite bad spd. And I didnt have a little one to care for. So i feel for you, and hope you have lots of support! Orange your parents may be a bit away but sound lovely! All I can say from my experience is that it went faster than I thought it would.

thinkingpositivethoughts · 14/11/2012 09:01

firstpost that's an amazing story, wishing you massive congratulations!

Bessie great news about the heartbeat, orange is right that the odds are much less once its there.

Has anyone mastered how to avoid booze without giving yourself away? I have to go to my boss' birthday do next friday. I would just tell her but my dh is deadset against telling people because of the last mc. I quite like the idea of taking a drink and then quietly ditching it... I also have the prospect of doing karaoke sober!

MrsWildermac · 14/11/2012 09:17

Not been on here for a few days and have just been crazy busy...not good when you're exhausted and want to sleep! Ah well...

Welcome to all the other newbies...this thread is filling up nicely with July babies! I've loved reading all your BFP stories - congratulations to all of you!

Still no nausea here...but still got sore boobs/constipation/exhaustion...hoping that the sickness stays away! I wonder if it's possible to avoid it completely?

Had appointment with GP on Monday - took BP, weighed me and referred me to our local hospital where apparently everything else gets done. Now we just have to wait for appointment to come through the post for appointment there for 12 week scan! This bit is sort of 'no man's land' isn't it?

Anyway...adding myself to the list:

Thanks All Grin and aww orange didn't want to make you cry must be the hormones Wink

I know it will be really tough facing pregnancy without husbands around to support and just help. My ds is 15 months and I also live somewhere where I know no one! I suppose we just take it day by day and marvel at how strong we will be by the end of it! Am off to Argc for a scan this morning hope to see heartbeat. I reckon I will be due mid July but we shall see.

It's been lovely reading all stories if this little miracle sticks around I look forward to getting to know you all better Smile

photographerlady · 14/11/2012 10:18

Morning all. Anyone getting really tired and exhausted? Had house guests this week and now that they are leavi g there is nothing more I am looking forward to then 12 hours sleep tonight :)

wishiwasonholiday · 14/11/2012 10:35

The tiredness has hit me today and I was in bed for 7.30 last night and I have a 13 hour day today, can't wait for bed tonight!

photographerlady · 14/11/2012 10:51

I am very much looking forward to work being over so I can sneak off to bed.

Camb79 · 14/11/2012 10:54

Hi, just set up a due in July thread elsewhere and now found this... Excellent. Due on July 25th with our second, and living in west London so trying to figure out hospitals for the ante natal stuff. I only found out yesterday, and we are ecstatic.

Hi camb congrats and to all other newbies joining and welcome!
camb we are in west London too and have plumped for queen charlotte's though it's second nearest it seems to have a good rep. Is that near you?
MrsW I think it is possible to avoid all sickness and even nausea - apparently my mum had none! I haven't been too bad yet but am not even 6 weeks yet - get mild nausea after eating in the morning and at lunch.. Really hope it doesn't get worse... Seems to have slightly over last couple of days though...

Thundercatz · 14/11/2012 11:29

photographer and wish me three! Although the insomnia despite the exhaustion makes me slightly nervous to go to bed! Sad

Camb79 · 14/11/2012 11:58

We are thinking of west Middlesex, partly because it's a straight bus ride for me. Queen Charlotte is our other preference though. I'm seeing the doctor today, to get in the NHS system.

Going to get the pregnacare plus fish oils today too I think. They were brilliant last time.

Isitme1 · 14/11/2012 12:35

Hi everyone can I join in with all the fun.
Due on the 23rd got my bfp yesterday!

Ive got a 2yr old too x

Tashtastic · 14/11/2012 13:48

Hello to all of the new people and congrats on the bfps. I have loved reading your stories. Been a bit busy at work and feeling doubly tired as not getting enough sleep due to too much work and general pregnancy related tiredness/ insomnia.. I desperately want to moan about it but can't! I think I might have given the game away when an X-ray was being taken near me at work and I ran about 100yds down the corridor!

No word from midwives yet- think I will book private scan- the waiting is too much for me.

chocolateteabag · 14/11/2012 14:20

Hi everyone EDD18 July and DS just turned 2 last week. I'm off work today with a bug but also got horrid indigestion. Didn't get much MS with DS so fingers crossed this one is the same

Sorry would add in the list but stupid iPad won't bring up the copy paste option Angry can someone else add me in please?

Chocolateteabag - 18 July

missmaybe · 14/11/2012 14:26

Hello ladies, just adding myself to the list.

Actually, I was on here earlier in the year, on the October 2012 board, but had a missed miscarriage at 7 weeks. Although this one is unplanned and I would now be a single mum, I still find myself getting really excited about it and hoping it sticks.

Have added myself - and Chocolateteabag - to the list!
