photographerlady you're lucky to be working mostly with men ... I don't think my (male) boss would notice until one was almost in labour but the rest of the team are eagle-eyed women who pounce on any sign of weight gain etc!!

I don't think it's tacky to take your boss aside, that's the protocol as far as I know ... at which point they get all nervous and ask how much time you want off work etc

Ellie I'm still feeding my ds3 as well but down to just one quick overnight feed and hoping he'll wean properly soon as I could do with a full night sleep!

I'm now 6+3 I think and feeling v sick a lot of the time esp mornings and completely knackered! Got a really busy week coming up with ds2 getting a wee operation on Tuesday. I'm super emotional anyway at the moment so that is going to be tough. I even cried when we got his appt through

Not sure how I'm going to deflect the alcohol question. We have a work do coming up very soon. Will have to use the driving excuse I think. I am dreading telling my colleagues about mat leave cos I only started 3 weeks ago and all my colleagues are men. Fortunately they all have kids themselves so I hope they'll be a little understanding

5 weeks today. It's really dragging!

I've got a work do this week that I'm dreading because we are getting taxis there and back and no woman I've met will take an 'I'm on antibiotics' excuse without suspicion. Think I will do the one glass of wine and lose it whenever I can trick, but we'll be mostly sat at one dinner table all night I think...

Any ideas?

Can I (very tentatively) join? It's my first, and had a CP/MC (not sure what the difference is) at 5 weeks last month so am very nervous! No idea about dates either because of that - when do I date it from?
I know the mw will probably be able to tell me this, have to book direct to her rather than dr where I live so no chance of seeing anyone until the 23rd, going to drive myself mad in the meantime!

I'm going to ring the GP in the morning. Really nervous about this pregnancy as although I've got nausea on and off I've only been sick 3 times. I know that's normal for some people but my last pregnancy was like that and I miscarried. Normally I get hyperemisis.

Any tips on persuading her to send me for an early scan? They have big signs at the EPU saying they only scan you if you have bleeding, not for reassurance. We can't afford a private scan as we need to save up for a bigger car. I can't wait another 7-8 weeks (am 7 weeks tomorrow), I'll go insane. The stupid thing is if this baby makes it that far I'll get about 3 growth scans where they will say the baby is huge and tut and shake their heads. Then the baby will be born a pound smaller than they said, despite me telling them that I always grow babies to 8lb 12oz roughly and 53cm long. I would rather have an extra scan now and not have the growth scans but I don't think it works like that.

ellie maybe just have a heart to heart with your GP. Early scans are about £100. Because it's been so long of TTC and the fact I was on clomid I'm gestating the 7 week scan. I need peace of mind that I am actually pregnant. I know it sounds odd but with the increase chance of twins or a chemical pregnancy 12 weeks seems like years away. Keep us posted hope you get some good news and the early scan.

esme There is NO way I'll be giving up my little caffeine fix in the morning. I need it to survive a day with my 13month DD get me going

Do you think we could have a wee list? My brain is dysfunctional at the best of times without adding pregnancy hormones into the mix! Perhaps MN Name and EDD and then as they arrive we can add in baby name and arrival date? What do you think?

Also, I'm suffering with constipation Never had this in my previous pregnancies! any tips/suggestions/advice?

5+1 today and boobs are so sore and itchy :o
