Ha ha I am doing exactly the same thunder, dh is amusing ds and I am doing absolutely nothing, and loving it! If only the nausea would go away...

Thundercatz · 10/11/2012 13:56

Oh I don't have nausea (well it's v mild for now) more exhaustion and not feeling myself so I feel like I can't even enjoy vegging on sofa like I normally would.. Just feel just generally grumpy and frustrated at myself! Must be hormones Blush

If you have a young ds you should def make the most of quiet veg time and enjoy as I'm sure you don't always have the luxury..

esme80 · 10/11/2012 14:17

The nausea only really started for me a few days ago. But I am with you on the exhaustion... It got a lot better for me during my 2nd trimester though last time, suddenly felt like I had limitless energy amd was flying around everywhere! Try to let yourself enjoy the rest, your body is telling you it needs it!

photographerlady · 10/11/2012 15:47

I am on the light nausea stage 4 weeks 2 days. It's been coming and going with being bloated but thankfully haven't felt as though I would be sick. I'm either not hungry and nauseaous or starving.

Hardest thing is giving up coffee. I am such a latte addict. So far only one decaf red cup latte but its been tricky as the DH and I always enjoy a nice morning at the coffeehouse.

orangebubbles · 10/11/2012 16:13

Hi there and Congratulations to everyone Smile

BFP this morning, totally unexpected as no symptoms, just a bit late so poas! EDD calculator gives an EDD of July 20th! Sadly I'm no stranger to MC and CP so I'm not getting too excited yet (oh yes I am). I have one beautiful DD already but oh how she needs a sibling Grin

I have name changed btw because I think someone in my family has worked out my usual nn. I don't recognise anyone on here though so probably irrelevant!

Thundercatz · 10/11/2012 16:19

You're better than me then photo as I have cut down but still have about coffees at week at work as due to my sleepiness I can't envisage functioning w/o it! Think of it this way, at least you will save a few bob on the lattes!

esme I'm looking forward to that second trimester then and hoping to make the most of it! You're right, I've succumbed to the sofa for the day and just gonna pop out very locally for Thai food tonight Grin

Thundercatz · 10/11/2012 16:19

Meant to say 3 coffees a week!

Thundercatz · 10/11/2012 16:21

Congrats orange!! Wishing you a healthy happy pregnancy Smile

photographerlady · 10/11/2012 17:01

Lattes and Starbucks is such a weakness for me, I'm a large girl though and I have to be abit realistic with being as healthy as I can be the next eight months. Going to be a tough one though

esme80 · 10/11/2012 17:02

Errmm... Should I feel horrible that I have one coffee a day?

Welcome orange!

Ooo, thai food... May have to rethink the pizza I was originally
going for...

photographerlady · 10/11/2012 17:16

I think one coffe a day is fine,my thing is Starbucks put 2 or 3 espressos in a latte and I just can't be trusted :)

Thundercatz · 10/11/2012 18:16

Yes agree one coffee is prob fine - the nhs guidance seems to change regularly. How is everyone going to hide the whole not drinking at Xmas work parties etc? Or will you have "come out" by then?

esme80 · 10/11/2012 18:30

Okay, I dont have lattes very often just regular instant. Thought everyone but me was being super saintly with the caffeine!
My 12 week scan should be before christmas I think, so will probably be outed by then. Ive gathered from here that scans vary from 11-14 weeks depending where you are, but I thought they had to do the nuchal measurement thing by like week 12 at the latest as later they cant measure or something as baby too big? Or amI making that up?

photographerlady · 10/11/2012 18:36

thundercatz I am going to use the whole "getting over the flu" excuse I think. Luckily out Xmas party is more a dinner than a wild night of drinking.

Thundercatz · 10/11/2012 18:51

I'm not sure about scan date - I had heard 11-13 weeks esme but I imagine it may depend on availability etc? , I won't make 12 weeks till 27 dec, although we are getting early private scan at 8 weeks+ so I will be v tempted to spill then but will have to control myself esp at work I would rather tell them in Jan.

All being well planning to tell extended family on Xmas day!

I'm not a big drinker but we have a few Xmas parties around that time so it will look suss if I refuse each time but perhaps I will just try and keep a low profile? I don't know! Confused

TTCmay · 10/11/2012 19:00

Hi can I join please? EDD 6 July.
Am shattered/sick already! But also no stranger to mc so happier to have symptoms than not.

Here's to the next 8 months, girls !!
X

Hai1988 · 10/11/2012 19:39

Hi ladies )

Got my booking appointment today its on the 24th so will be 6+6 then :)

elliejjtiny · 10/11/2012 20:37

I'm still breastfeeding DS3 so only drinking occasionally anyway. I'm quite lucky as I don't like any of the stuff you're not supposed to eat in pregnancy. I think the dating scan is between 10 and 14 weeks but at my hospital if you have an early scan due to bleeding and they manage to date you, you don't get a dating scan. Not sure about the nuchal thing if the scan is earlier or later as I never have that done anyway. I'll be 13 weeks on christmas eve I think so I'm hoping I get my dating scan before christmas.

emblosion · 10/11/2012 22:23

Hi all, just popping in, my mum's visiting this weekend so not been online much. Got an excuse not to drink as DS is still so small & am on mat leave still so no work parties.

Driving is a perfect excuse not to drink tho, I normally say I drew the short straw & my husband deflects attention by making a big deal of being able to have a few drinks, ha ha!

Welcome to all the new ladies :)

whitedaffodil · 11/11/2012 07:28

hi and congratulations to all Smile

Still a little bit shocked after the BFP on Friday night (not that we haven't waited long enough, I was just convinced that yet again it hadn't happened) ... perhaps the excitement is why I'm not feeling tired like others. I hardly slept on Friday night and last night only slept a couple of hours. Worked out my EDD as 18 July and already daydreaming about long summer afternoons in the garden with a little bundle - hope that's not tempting fate!

photographerlad, thundercatz and emblosion, interested to hear how the various "wouldn't you like a proper drink" deflection techniques go. I go to a lot of work events and client events esp. this time of year and was trying to work out if I was holding a glass of wine every now and then, whether I could put it down when going to the loo etc. and then get an OJ without being too obvious?!

photographerlady · 11/11/2012 07:48

whitedaff nice we share the same due date and I am also looking forward to enjoying the fresh air when the little one arrives. I'm not really a drinker so luckily I pass at work anyway. I mainly work with men so at first I thought it would be hard to announce it. Then again it's really only the fact we have no HR so as tacky as it is 16 weeks in or so I guess I just take my boss aside and tell him or email the sorta HR guy. So many of the young guys have had kids this year the place has been mighty fertile.

Grannyapple · 11/11/2012 09:41
