Me too purple and I think I remember feeling similar with DS, sort of as if my period was going to start at any time? And an achy lower back

persuasion I think there might be some MS mixed in, but think its mostly a bug as most of the action is at the other end (sorry for tmi!)

cottonsock fingers crossed for you let us know how scan goes today, hope you're alright x

emblosion · 08/11/2012 07:58

Thundercatz · 08/11/2012 09:36

Hi all, I'm newly pregnant too (first baby) and due in mid July. Very very excited but also scared and although I don't want to wish this time away I can't wait till Jan when I can hopefully tell everyone and hopefully start developing a little bump.

Symptoms at the mo sound v similar to many of you - exhaustion, insomnia, sore boobs, hormonal and so bloated I look 5 months pregnant already! Blush

Doing tons of googling and feel a bit obsessed with it all! Have my doctors appt tomorrow.

Anyway that's me - just wanted to say hi and wish you all a happy healthy 8 months or so ahead! Smile

Hai1988 · 08/11/2012 10:00

Hi thunder welcome

Cud i ask a few questions, one is who is gonna be getting the flu jab?
As the gp told be to book and app with the nurse so have it but im not sure about it :$

Also on avrage how long does it take for the referal for the.midwife normally take?

esme80 · 08/11/2012 10:49

Welcome thunder!

Good luck today cotton, hope you are ok.

Hai hadnt thought of flu jab yet, had it when pg with ds and was fine so will probably have it again. Saying that still managed to get flu!
Seem to remember midwife contacted me around week 8 to make booking in appointment for week 9.

So tired, went to bed at 9 last night only to wake up at 4 feeling sick! And DS is being a nightmare today...

elliejjtiny · 08/11/2012 11:15

I thought I had a flu jab tomorrow but when I checked my appointment card it was tuesday, oops. So I'll be making a grovelling phonecall to the dr surgery later.

I normally see the midwife for booking at about 8-10 weeks.

photographerlady · 08/11/2012 11:50

Hi ladies am I join? Just got my BFP after three years of trying! We were saving for IVF but as a last ditch my consultant prescribed clomid. Our first cycle in and this week I saw a faint line turn darker and darker day by day.

Can't discribe how amazingly happy we are such a long road and brings me to tears. Estimated due date July 18 :)

wifey6 · 08/11/2012 12:12

photographerlady....that's amazing news! congratulations.

CottonSock · 08/11/2012 12:35

Hi all, back from EPAU and we actually have a live baby (well a blob more accurate description) with a heart beat and dates measure correctly at 6+6!!! I actually didn't belive her I had gone in armed with the protocols for Recurrent Miscarriage ready to demand referals. I was a blubbering mess anyhow and the nurse and doctor were so nice and so happy for us. I had a bit of melodrama about the internal scan (just me, it's not that bad ladies!) and she was really gentle. I just kept asking again and again was there really a heartbeat and there was and we heard it ourselves. DH had managed to get away from work just in time and i'm so glad he did.

She also gave me a repeat scan in 2 weeks, baby asprin and progesterone. Only because I asked I think, but anything worth a try.

There is some some bleeding evident, but hopefully just old implantation blood. I have no symptoms AT ALL now (apart from the emotional wreck bit) . So maybe things could still go wrong, or maybe I am just lucky.

So shocked / happy and have every thing crossed for next two weeks.

Hope you are all having a good day.. :)

wifey6 · 08/11/2012 12:45

Cotton Grin Grin Grin
That's wonderful news. Smile
That's great you get a repeat scan in a few weeks. Smile

Persuasion · 08/11/2012 12:55

That must be such a relief cotton!

Welcome and congratulations photographer and thunder.

I already had a flu jab this year, because I work in healthcare, so that's one less thing for me to worry about.

Today I feel really sick. Not actually vomiting yet, but had a few thinking I need to be near a toilet moments! I'm pleased in a way because at least something is happening!

BreeVanDerTramp · 08/11/2012 12:58

Hello, I sound mad but I had to drop by - I was on the July 2012 thread and am currently feeding 17 week old DD. the year will fly by like the last one has for me!

She was due 3rd July and born Friday 13th after a very quick labour!

Good luck and congratulations Grin

MrsWildermac · 08/11/2012 13:29

Congratulations and welcome to the newcomers and cotton, that's wonderful news!

Think the idea of it all is beginning to sink in now! Did another test today and a stronger line came up quicker than before! Still only 14dpo though.

Anyone finding the days really dragging?

Purplemonster · 08/11/2012 13:48

Oh thank goodness Cotton, you must be so relieved.
Yes, the days and weeks are dragging here too. Time has never moved so slowly!

Thundercatz · 08/11/2012 14:06

Thanks for the warm welcomes! And congrats to those who have just found out!
Yes!! Time is dragging like it never has before! And I'm impatient by nature anyway... Aarghh!!
It's crazy that nothing seems to really change at first except for the random symptoms and yet it all suddenly will in a huge way in just a few months! I think what I'm finding hardest is being unable to share the news (we have only told parents and siblings so far) and just general worry that all goes ok. Due to my impatient and anxious nature we have an early private scan booked in at 8 weeks. Anyone else doing one? I've been told at 8 weeks if all is well there should defo be a heartbeat detectable Smile cannot wait fingers crossed!

Thundercatz · 08/11/2012 14:08

Hai i would have the flu jab and hopefully will. I've had it in previous years (was offered at work) and I think it made a difference as i think it stopped me from ever coming down with more than a mild cold.

emblosion · 08/11/2012 15:19

cotton FANTASTIC news Grin am so happy that everything was ok :)

Welcome Thunder and photographer & congrats to you both.

Hai I posted on your other thread too, but I'll be getting my flu/whooping cough jabs as soon as I can get it sorted, prevention better than cure n'all that!

photographerlady · 08/11/2012 16:48

Thanks for the welcome. GP appointment next Thursday :) when it comes to early scans what week were you when you had one. I really like to book one in before Xmas I think I manage 7-8wk by then.

Bodice · 08/11/2012 18:28

Congratz cottonsock, so pleased for you.

And welcome thundercat and photographer lady.

I think I will get a flu jab but gonna wait until I get a heart beat and quiz the flu jab woman like mad before I let her near me.

My boobs are busting out of my bras. I was already a 32E - goodness knows what I will be by the end it. Hubby thinks I look like I've had them dons. can't use the term DH by the way - not a massive fan of acronyms!!
Really wishing I could fast forward time now. Gonna tell my mum tonight. it's still early but I would tell her if i had a miscarriage anyway so I may as well.

Shenanagins · 08/11/2012 20:14

Thats good news cottonsocks.

I have had the flu jab before i got pregnant so that is crossed off the list but if i hadn't i would get one as its bad enough having a heavy cold and not being able to take much especially if you get blocked sinuses. will also get the whooping cough one when due.

Tashtastic · 08/11/2012 20:37

Great news cotton and congrats to photographer and thundercatz

I had the flu jab just before i got pregnant (work) and had it when pregnant a couple of years ago. No harm to baby and good to avoid flu. So do it Hai !

Going to see GP tomorrow. Should have a quiet day at work tomorrow which is desperately needed cos I am exhausted.

Cutandstick · 08/11/2012 22:22

Hi all
Great new cotton, just wondering how many of you have told your parents? We were going to wait til 12 weeks but DP is going abroad to work for a week in a week. Tragically I'm on my knees after work this week so am wondering whether to tell them and then go and stay. And why does it feel like such a big decision ?!! Confused
Already had to come out to boss as shingles at work Angry
Hormones ... Who'd have 'em! Wink

Bodice · 08/11/2012 22:50

Told mum and she said she had thought I might be pregnant before I even realised due to the increase in size of my boobs!
