Why never Glasgow Ikea? The crèche is free there.

Passmethecrisps · 18/10/2012 20:58

You know, I did once bring the bits of paper home to show DH but I got rid of them as I was worried I might get sacked! Not everyone would see the educational value - I personally think it is awesome! 13 year old boys lack modesty when it comes to naming their penises. 'Big Dave' etc tens to be very popular. I wish I could remember more. I won't be doing that lesson again until about April 2014 actually! What a thought.

Edinburgh ikea was better laid out, quieter (unfair actually as we went on Sunday to Glasgow) and had more stock arranged out. Glasgow was utter chaos on Sunday. The downside of Edinburgh being so pleasant was that we spent a fortune. DH was all over it - he wants the big leaf canopies and was planning the next room makeover.

tits ring them today. I know someone who shouted enough to get induced early because of spd.

Yes horsey you make me feel like a sloth, I think you could have a couple of slow weeks owing to you.

Am glad it has all stopped detective I would miss you.

Little bugger has moved back to ROA Angry so I am on the bed with my bottom in the air! What else can I do? I always stit on the birthing ball, or lean over it, I sleep on my left ( untill about 4/5ish when. Flip to my right side).

Also, my shins look like they are covered in bruises, it's horrible. Will that go awawy after birth?

Passmethecrisps · 18/10/2012 21:00

Oh, and you would never have guessed that there a) was a crèche in the first place and b) that it was free. It was absolutely tithing with children roaming free and generally going mental.

MissMummy1 · 18/10/2012 21:02

I think I was there about half 4ish? I had a red stripey cardi and stone coloured troos if that helps?! I do have long wavy dark hair though (although it was scraped back!) Don't think I sae any other preggo ladies, but then I'm not very observant and I was in a strop about the hangers.

I too have done the 'different names for boys bit' activity, but with a 'challenging' class of P7s. In Peterhead. It was certainly an eye opener!

YW I love room with a view but from memory it's not very child friendly? (keep forgetting their bringing the brat our lovely 7yo niece!)

Georgee will report back on the wee restaurant next week. I may be tapping you for that list sometime in the next few years! The Cedar Inn in Aberdour is a good shout for child friendly places, or at least it was when I worked there a few years ago. It's been bought over since.

georgee · 18/10/2012 21:02

In terms of sleeping on your left side, isn't it better to sleep most of the night on your right side then flip to your left for the latter part of the night so that when you actually get up, the baby is in the correct position? Or wouldn't that work? I just cannot stay on one side all night so I've been figuring as long as there's a spell on my left before I get out of bed, all's well! Probably completely misguided there!

MissMummy1 · 18/10/2012 21:05

Sp saw, they're

horseylady · 18/10/2012 21:08

I just sleep.

Invariably I wake up on my back.

I've not been to ikea. My new blind is still too small. Do you think I can take it back a third time? I actually opened it this time as I thought it would fit?! It's about 1inch too short!!!!!

Sophiathesnowfairy · 18/10/2012 21:08

georgee I will try that tonight.

horseylady · 18/10/2012 21:09

Not been to ikea pregnant. that should say.

I'm going to bed shortly!!

MissMummy1 · 18/10/2012 21:12

Horsey I was knackered after walking around IKEA edinburgh! And didn't think I could manage meatballs after just being out for lunch. A trip back with dh and his credit card next week is a definite though!

horseylady · 18/10/2012 21:19

I think I'd hate it!! Plus we dont need anything really!! At least I don't think we do??!!

georgee · 18/10/2012 21:20

Hi MM. Look for Edinburgh for Under Fives. Available at all good bookshops in Edinburgh, inc Waterstones. Before you have a baby you don't know it exists but afterwards it becomes a useful piece of kit! Maybe get someone to get it for you for Christmas!

Passmethecrisps · 18/10/2012 21:23

Hmm MM I think this lady had her hair down.

I found walking round it hard going but not half as hard as the walk round bloody Costco afterwards

ValiumQueen · 18/10/2012 21:55

pass the leaf canopies are a PITA. Dust, kids swinging off them, a hanging risk IMO, so bloody big in a normal house, and you are for ever bumping into them. They look great though.

sophia has anyone looked at your bruises? Might be best to check with the MW when you see her next. I do not think it is a common side effect of pg, and could possibly be a clotting issue, like my DD had. I may be wrong though, so do not worry, but if not already seen by a medic, please do.

Passmethecrisps · 18/10/2012 22:03

Good advice VQ. He'll have forgotten about it by the time we get to that stage. Nice to see him so excited though.

ValiumQueen · 18/10/2012 22:08

As I said they do look great! Grin ours was up for about six weeks before it went to the charity shop. They sold it that day for more than I paid for it!

YellowWellies · 18/10/2012 22:09

Woo georgee my sister swears by that book! All this talk of Ikea is making me Envy. Still at least I'll get to see the wee one at our last scan tomo!!!

TheDetective · 18/10/2012 22:09

MM I got 4 lots of hangers. To go with the 6 lots I already had!

They had loads. I'd of picked you some up if I'd known! I now have 80 hangers with baby clothes on them. I have too many baby clothes.

Ah well!

Will need to go back for more hangers if anyone buys/gives us clothes

MissMummy1 · 18/10/2012 22:11

I've run out of hangers and I've not even washed my MASSIVE new bundle of baby clothes yet Sad

Off to sulk in the bath dh has run me. If it weren't for last night's lecture 'chat' about his lack of man points, I'd be paranoid he'd done something bad and was trying to butter me up! I guess in a way though he has, sailing trip my arse.... Grin

MissMummy1 · 18/10/2012 22:14

Detective I must stress I have 9 drawers full of neatly folded vests, sleepsuits and knitted cardis/jumpers from my gran! Post 3 months though we have nothing!! yet

The wardrobe is purely for outfits and 'posh' sleepsuits!

ValiumQueen · 18/10/2012 22:16

I do not have any clothes on hangers until they are at least two, except pretty dresses. Things get ironed once pre birth, then only for church or school. If folded well things are perfectly presentable IMO.

80 hangers detective?

ValiumQueen · 18/10/2012 22:18

posh sleepsuits?

Now then, MM can play the PFB card. What is your excuse detective ?

Night night all. Sweet dreams!

TheDetective · 18/10/2012 22:26

I hang, so I don't iron!!

Everything in this house is pretty much hung up! All of mine and DPs stuff is on hangers. We have no space for both wardrobe AND drawers in both our room and the baby's room! DS has one tall narrow wardrobe and tall narrow drawers! The only things in his drawers are pjs, tshirts and shorts!

We have clothes up to 3-6 :)

Dixiebell · 18/10/2012 22:30

Only things of DS's I hang up are coats Hmm
