Sorry for the not very imaginative title. Noticed old thread was full and couldn't find a new one.

Good luck bunny mine is today too. Had a crap nights sleep worrying. Hopefully it will be a happy day for both of us Smile

shelly81 · 09/11/2012 07:29

Good luck bunny & lolly isure everything will be fantastic enjoy it as it goes soo fast xxxx

wilderumpus · 09/11/2012 07:44

good luck bunny and lolly. is terrifying but odds are high that all will be fine :)

don't forget you need a full bladder bunny but not to be so full you need to pee yourself! Just so you feel you need the loo - you can let some out (I had to twice yesterday) to be more comfortable. I was told to drink one pint one hour before, so stupidly runk a bit more than that and needed to wee so badly I wouldn't have been scannable! so i went for a bit of a wee before and still had a really full bladder (said the sonographer!)

Bunnychan · 09/11/2012 07:52

Thanks for the advice wilderumpus! It's confusing, I've never had to know my bladder so well! Lol!
Forgot we were scan buddies lolly! Fingers crossed for us both :-) x

LittleBairn · 09/11/2012 08:28

pedanticpanda so pleased to hear we are near each other! Once the babies come we should try meeting up, it'll be like a real life antenatal group. Grin

Ah yes I'm another one who is pissed off that maternity appointments are so inflexible. Just because I can legally take time off doesn't really change things, I still have to let 2 families down because as a nanny there is no backup.
My scan is this Wednesday afternoon so I need to take the whole day off.

I can sort of understand the NHS having limited services but don't quite get why classes like Aquanatal and pregnacy yoga are all on in the middle of the day, no evening or weekend classes!

My MS has been really awful so bad I had to tell the kids because they were worried, they didn't believe I was preganant they though it was make believe because I don't have a 'baby belly' Grin think I've convinced them now.

DH and I are running out of restaurant we can visit. On Wednesday night we were just about to walk into one and I vomited everywhere. Blush So last night ( I had been fine all day) we went out for dinner Finished it only for me to throw up everywhere as soon as out got out the door. Blush

LittleBairn · 09/11/2012 08:34

Trimoloa my grandad wanted to be at my birth! Shock He complained all they way through that my mum wouldn't let him, it wasn't fair in his opinion because he hadn't be allowed to watch my mum being born.

I would be really blunt with your MIL telling her not at ask again because it put presure on you and stresses you out and she wouldn't want to endanger the baby... Lay on the guilt!

peardrop2 · 09/11/2012 08:51

I was told to half fill my bladder. 250ml of 7up (half a bottle) did the job perfectly!

mwncigirl · 09/11/2012 09:13

Oh my god, the rage! DH and I have just had the most awful row. I am so stubborn I will not back down. It's gonna be a long day Grin

seven77 · 09/11/2012 09:33

Glad I'm not the only one suffering from rage, poor DH is getting the brunt of it.

Glad to hear of the good scans, and of nuchal tests coming back with good results. My scan is on Thursday, nervously excited!

Is anyone else very emotional? I cried twice yesterday Blush.

FlaminNoraImPregnantPanda · 09/11/2012 09:51

I'm suffering from huge insecurity. My husband works very long hours. I stay at home and sponge off him. I used to work but can't since emigrating as I don't yet speak the language well enough. So I'm a part-time student instead. He is completely fine with this as he knew it would be this way when he accepted the job. All of a sudden though I'm completely racked with guilt, I'm convincing myself I'm too much of a burden for him and I'm terrified he's going to get fed up and leave me. Thoughts like this never once entered my head in the 5 years prior to pregnancy.

Bunnychan · 09/11/2012 10:41

Oh my god, since my bug yesterday I'm struggling to drink. Trying to drink lemonade as water isn't sitting right. They've got no chance of me drinking a pint :-s

Bunnychan · 09/11/2012 13:10

Wahoo there is a baby! Even saw bubs turning over! So relieved! Hope all is well with my scan mate lolly x

Boodstress · 09/11/2012 15:01

So glad all the scans are going well. Its nerve racking getting to that stage. For any one that hasn't and can't handle a full bladder - I emptied mine right before and it was as clear as a bell.
Trying to do the nub theory thingy but as the baby is sort of curled up, its hard to tell. I can see it but the spin isn't flat enough. I need a nub expert. Ironically I am too nervous to find out the sex at 20 weeks. Blush

berri · 09/11/2012 15:12

Not having a good week :(

Have been having bleeding on and off and it turns out my placenta has a tear where it attaches to the uterus.

So I've been told to 'move as little as possible' for the next week - not ideal as I'm SAHM to 3yo DS! Think he's going to be going over the TV viewing guidelines.....

DH is being great & helping out but house is a mess and I can't stand it.

I have another scan next week to see if it's getting smaller but the docs all seemed v worried :(

15+1 Can't believe I could get to this stage and still it could all go wrong.

Wirrawoo · 09/11/2012 15:28

Oh berri I'm so sorry to hear that. Do you have people around to help take care of you? Rest up, get into some good DVDs and we'll be thinking of you xx

MammaBrussels · 09/11/2012 15:53

Berri, so sorry to hear that. Rest up - don't worry about anything else. Are your family nearby to help?

Picklep · 09/11/2012 15:58

berri so sorry to hear this- just try to keep calm. Like wirra says, rest up and call on some help from friends/family so that you can rest. Sending a big hug and lots of positive thoughts.

Boodstress · 09/11/2012 16:01

Berri so sorry you're going through thatg stress. Positive thoughts it will all be ok.

LittleBairn · 09/11/2012 16:01

Berri Sad that sounds so stressful and worrying. I hope it all goes well for you.
Don't worry about to much TV it's times like these that tv was invented for, your DS will love it.

berri · 09/11/2012 17:10

Thank you for all your lovely wishes - I'm homesick as we're living in the USA so no family nearby to help out. Might have to fly my Mum out if things get to that stage!

DH is being lovely and luckily isn't too busy at work so has been going in a bit late & leaving early. I have a couple of lovely mates here too so I should think myself lucky I'm not on my own.

LittleBairn you're probably right about the TV...!

Thanks 10 - that's lovely to hear. I was wondering whether she had to have bed-rest, and did she go full term?

DS was born early after my waters went at 31 wks so I'm presuming this one is going the same way.

Ellypoo · 09/11/2012 18:31

Oh berri, that's really scary - try to rest as much as poss, and I hope that your scan next week is positive.

I've managed to get an appointment with my consultant next fri, so I'm hoping that I'll get another scan then.

Glad today's scans went well!

Am also feeling the rage, although it's constantly simmering away rather than flaring up from time to time! DH asked me last week if pg ladies have 'a time of the month' - I told him yes, its called pregnancy and it lasts approx 9 months!!

14+3

beaver33 · 09/11/2012 18:54

Thinking of you berri and sending healing thoughts to you and your placenta. The body is an amazing thing and, just like cuts heal on the outside, tears will also heal on the inside. I'm sure the doctors are being extra cautious to give you the best possible outcome and to make sure you do what they tell you!

I know flowers mean thanks, but thought you could do with some... Thanks

xx

LittleBairn · 09/11/2012 20:33

elly PMSL at you amd your DH.

It really made me laugh when the kids ( aged 3,4 and 5) didn't believe I was pregnant because I didn't have a baby belly when DH had pretty much asked about the same thing at the start of the pregnancy thinking that women go around with a huge bump for 9 months.
