I am not saying that it is better one way or the other or ideal PurplePidgin. I am just knackered and still struggling to work full time and I would like to sleep at the moment!

PurplePidjin · 18/10/2012 13:14

I was made redundant shortly before i got my (unexpected) bfp. Between December 2011 and July 2012, dp and i were made redundant/had contracts terminated 5 times. I would love to have a job to get up for, not working makes me itch and every essential item of baby stuff has to be weighed up and sourced cheaply second hand. The grass isn't any greener over here, I have the same lack of sleep you do just for different reasons Wink

FriendofDorothy · 18/10/2012 13:17

Fair enough. I am just bitter and twisted today so ignore me!

kate2boysandabump · 18/10/2012 13:23

Honey Glad things are looking up for you ad your baby. I had a similar experience with ds2. The steroid injections hurt like hell, but worth it. I went to nearly full term with him, but if it does happen, I know 2 very sturdy and healthy 27 weekers.

Spotty Do you feel better for the rant? Grin Only one more day to go.

Stacey Congrats on not killing xh!

I feel very tired at the moment, I'm not sleeping too badly, but everything feels like an effort. I'm waiting for the nesting to kick in so I can get some stuff done, but it feels like it's never going to happen. I've forced myself to the shops today to get more things off the baby list at the Boots baby event. So now I have a breast pump, lanisoh and bepanthen all at a third off, with extra points too. Now I just need to find the energy to put them away Blush

The boys are away at grandparents next week, hopefully my nesting will coincide with the peace and quiet.

WerewolvesDoTheFandango · 18/10/2012 13:26

Daydream I've found that when the pressure on my lungs gets really bad and I'm struggling to breathe, I can move the baby off them by shifting onto my hands amd knees for a bit. This tends to move him around and I can breathe much better afteerwards. I woke up in a panic a couple of times the other night as I just couldn't get my breath and this was the only thing that helped.

Glad to hear you're being looked after honey

Getting very uncomfortable sat at a desk all day now. 26 more days to work! Wahoo!

I'm just back from hospital with ds, who's two, and was finally getting his bloods done to check for chromosome abnormalities and underactive thyroid. Bursting with pride as he was an absolute superstar, didn't even wince when the needle went in and happily sat and watched the blood drain from his ickle little body. the doc do her stuff. The worries just don't stop with kids, u think once they're born all your fears cease, but actually I think its worse when you have a proper real-live child that you would do anything to protect. They're just so precious.

JoJoB77 · 18/10/2012 13:33

Just watched a news clip on the conjoined twins successfully separated, Ruby and Rosie, 11 weeks old now, made me cry!

Lovely news to hear, makes a change from all the bad stuff going on.

PurplePidjin · 18/10/2012 13:36

Me too, FoD, backache and gas twats and starting the day at 5.30 for absolutely no reason! It's not up to me to express an opinion but it's very hard, knowing how much dp hates his shitty job, to hear or read conversations about this new pram or that new cot, each of which costs the equivalent of a month's wages for us. (not just here) I'm using cloth nappies out of necessity, for example

2blessed · 18/10/2012 14:15

daydream I?m regularly short of breath. Talking on the phone, walking up stairs, walking anywhere?
Will try the on all fours trick

SpottyTeacakes · 18/10/2012 14:16

No kate I don't! He lied rally talks to people like they're at school when in fact I have done all I'm supposed to and he's just assuming I haven't. He's got someone to cover my ML but I didn't know until they turned up this morning asking what to do?! Then he moaned about what I was telling them! Er it's my job I know what I do!! Three hours and ill be on my way home....

mwah that's so lovely I have been wondering about your ds what a brave boy Smile

SpottyTeacakes · 18/10/2012 14:17

Oh yes I'm out of breath too especially if I lay down I can't breathe even in the bath Confused

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 18/10/2012 14:50

Oh mwah it's awful to see them at hospital even for tests and stuff but kids are amazingly resilient! Dd never kicked up a fuss about blood tests etc and she's normally the biggest cry baby going! Big hugs to your special little boy!

Well I've typed and got DH to print my birth plan. And will be going over the hospital bag again in the next few days. Need to get around to putting drinks in the freezer etc (although I can almost guarantee that I will forget to take them with me!).

FriendofDorothy · 18/10/2012 15:20

I haven't had too much problems breathing, the only time I notice it is when I am singing with choir. There is definitely less luncg capacity there!

MyDaydream · 18/10/2012 16:07

Thanks for the all fours tip, I'll give it a go next time I'm suffering. It really amuses DP when I've eaten too much and I alternate between rocking on all fours and standing up circling my hips in a figure of 8 to get things moving and make some room.

kate2boysandabump · 18/10/2012 16:12

spotty sorry the rant didn't make you feel better, he sounds like a right star. Am I right in thinking you aren't going back after the baby?

pidj all babies really need are somewhere to sleep, something to eat, a clean nun and a way to get about. Everything else is a choice and one of those things can be free. The only thing our baby has had new, we didn't pay for!

mwah what a brave boy! Hope all turns out well.

Do you think the all fours trick is ok anywhere? School run, sainsbury's, shopping centre...? The possibilities are endless!

MyDaydream · 18/10/2012 16:17

kate I've not been on all 4s in the supermarket but have bent over the trolley/shelves while DP rubs my back because I was in so much pain!

kate2boysandabump · 18/10/2012 16:27

Oh dear daydream poor you! A friend kindly pointed out I was panting yesterday, I think I'm beginning to sound like my dogs...

PrunellaDeVille · 18/10/2012 16:34

kate Grinlove that a 'clean nun' is one of your baby essentials, that's made my day.

SpottyTeacakes · 18/10/2012 16:38

Oh yes all babies need a clean nun Wink

Nope I'm not going back mwahaha that'll learn him Wink

When I'm walking I ten to kind or carry/lift my bump with my arms because it's so heavy I must look like a right weirdo!

Mummycox · 18/10/2012 16:41

What a day you've all had. Sending hugs, Biscuit and tea.

I've come back from growth scan - the upshot: I'm a tubby short arse and he's a normal sized baby Smile

Going to try and sleep now.

EggsMichelle · 18/10/2012 17:33

My bump hurts when I walk, feels like its going to tear off! And I have a foot under my rib, little git!

Knitting continues, I am on a blanket now, I knew building my wool stash and not giving in to my DHs demands to declutter would come in handy eventually!

kate2boysandabump · 18/10/2012 17:33

Oops Blush

Meant bum, sorry.

WerewolvesDoTheFandango · 18/10/2012 18:37

Kate my boss came into the office the other day to find me lying on the floor with my laptop as the rib pain is so bad I can't bear sitting up anymore! I have no shame! I have also don't daydream's doubled over the trolley thing, that was morning sickness though, when I stood up I threw up!

StrawberrytallCAKE · 18/10/2012 19:20

feeling slightly better about life now. DH realises he has been a total dick which is good. He was good last pg but it's different when there are no dc's as all he had to worry about was me and I had nothing to worry about other than how big my waddle was getting! It is possible I'm slightly hormonal.

Where is Honey? How are you getting on?

Exercise ball is helping me when I'm without breath but I have to get up in bed and go onto all fours sometimes too, dh woke up and though it was his lucky day...dream on baby!

pidj With dd we honestly had absolutely nothing and we lived in a very small flat and made do with seconds and anything we could scrape together (dh had his contract cancelled when I was pregnant then too), we were so happy...money and the ability to buy stuff means nothing really it's just an easy conversation to have with people. You can at least make things, I can make bugger all!

itsMYNutella · 18/10/2012 19:29

I'm going to have to send the nun I got back, I demand a clean one!
