Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Mummycox · 18/10/2012 00:33

It's vile... I can feel him squirming, which is lovely, but know that if he doesn't stop soon I'll be awake for hours more as it takes so long for it to go. Mother natures way of getting you ready I guess.

monsterchild · 18/10/2012 00:55

Try sleeping with your head ans shoulders higher than your chest/abdomen. That has helped me some.

And I think they tell you not to drink during the third trimester because the liver can't detox AND take a beating at the same time!

SpottyTeacakes · 18/10/2012 06:10

I've had a crappy nights sleep too. Dd was being a pain and my arm, for some weird reason, is really painful and achy Sad

Walnut8 · 18/10/2012 06:31

Feeling fluey and awful, just lay down for a nap while DD is sleeping and my phone started ringing. urgh. Also burst into tears at my DD's gym class this morning as she was being such a brat and I couldn't deal with it. So embarrassing. Does anyone else have a 2 yr old? I hope you are coping better than me.

Honey, I hope you are okay. At my hospital they will only take babies born from 32 weeks onwards as they don't have the facilities for younger, so I'm guessing that they are a bit more robust by that stage. Thinking of you though. What made you go to the hospital? Sorry if you have already said and I've missed it along the way.

Walnut8 · 18/10/2012 06:32

Spotty, sorry to hear about your bad sleep and sore arm and to everyone else with problems sleeping Sad

SpottyTeacakes · 18/10/2012 06:36

I have a two year old Walnut (btw where are you?) she goes from lovely to horrible in 0 seconds. Yesterday we got caught in a torrential downpour, I had a really heavy bag and she divided she didn't want to walk so just sat on the floor, we didn't even have costs on! I've just found a local soft play which I'm going to take her to next week, stop me feeling so guilty Wink there really isn't anything to do with her round here!

EggsMichelle · 18/10/2012 07:32

Bella I went too boots to buy nipple cream for my hospital bag, send discovered there were so many different types I came away with a before and after birth cream, thought i might as well prep them now.

My mum and aunt were born at 32wks (twins) and apart from my mum being a short arse 5ft there is definitely nothing wrong with them!!! And that was in the 50s.

I thought I was looking forward to the toddler stage, but all this tantrum talk is making me panic. Has anyone read this? It's very amusing.

HoneyMum21 · 18/10/2012 07:36

Morning all. Thanks so much for all your well wishes and thoughts. Just wanted to update you- cant quite remember what I said yesterday so sorry if I repeat myself. Came over to the hospital because of reduced movement which all turned out fine but they were worried at the regularity of braxton hicks and how hard my belly was so did a swab test which came back positive of the potential of going into labour so gave a steroid injection straight away just in case and have kept me in till at least tonight when I get dose number 2. They've also givens some big red pills which are supposed to stop any hormones which are trying to get me onto labour. Apart from a crap nights sleep that's all there is to report. Thanks again so much for your support xx

SpottyTeacakes · 18/10/2012 07:48

It's ok Eggs for everything ghastly they do they do one hundred funny/cute/impressive things in return apart from dd who kept me up just the night Angry Wink

So glad things are looking ok Honey hope you have lots of trashy magazines to read.

Speaking of braxton hicks I can't even get dd a drink without my stomach going rock hard, walking into another room/out to the car/up the stairs anything that isn't sitting causes it. It's so uncomfortable and seems a bit much so early on. Mentioned it to mw yesterday, although down played it a bit, and she said I just have to take it easy but I already am! Anyone else got them like this?

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 18/10/2012 07:54

honey at least They're on top of it. Huge love being sent to you and your bump.

Well last nights sleep was almost non existent and today is the kids harvest festival and my XH will be there Angry really don't wanna see him! But thankfully I will be there early from dropping the kids off so will make sure I get a seat. After his behaviour recently I'll be fucked if I'm having him sit next to me!!!

utopian99 · 18/10/2012 08:43

honey sounds like you're in a good place, being kept an eye on, at least..

Had a dream last night that it looked like i was going early, and dh decided we should walk through really crowded streets to the hospital! (only 10 mins drive in real life, but would still rather not walk...)

2blessed · 18/10/2012 08:54

honey that must be reasuusing that you're being monitored. YOu're in the right place, just try adn relax now.

Went to bed before 9 last night and up at 3.30. Got a really busy day at work today and I can already feel my eyelids drooping!

spotty my belly feels hard/tight nearly all of the time but with no pain. Am I Hicks-ing?

StrawberrytallCAKE · 18/10/2012 09:02

spotty I got that when I was around 27 weeks - 30 weeks, I have no idea why but not getting it at all now and I am resting a lot more.

Totally fallen out with dh, not really over much just the fact that he hasn't once instigated a conversation about the baby/labour/how many weeks I am. Whenever he gets dd ready for nursery he puts her in something ridiculous and I have to re-dress her. He weed on the floor a little bit when going to the toilet in the middle of the night twice this week. He didn't actually do anything about it either. He has been cooking for me and dd and putting her to bed every night (although doesn't give her a bath unless I tell him to). He also seems moody a lot and is constantly on his phone for work, he's working loads from home at the moment and I feel like I've got no space in my own house. I'm at a really low point now and questioning what I'm doing here at all.

JoJoB77 · 18/10/2012 09:28

Hope everything is ok honey and baby stays put for a little while longer Smile

Sorry to hear you are feeling down strawberry Sad. I hope things improve as you dont need to be feeling this way.

I cant remember who asked but i have an 18 month old. Shes on the go all the time & has never been the best sleeper, always early rises but as spotty says they do some hugely funny things that makes me immediately forget about all the slightly horrid sides Smile

spotty my tummy seems to be hard more often than not but without pain. It feels so tight sometimes its like my skin will burst.

Ah well less than 9 weeks to go till due date.

Walnut8 · 18/10/2012 09:55

spotty, I'm in australia hence the time difference! Good to know that I'm not the only one with a tantrum'ing 2 yr old. I can usually deal with it (it's not that bad, honest Eggs) except that it has been such a rough week, with illness and lack of sleep. And yes, constant BH from late afternoon onwards. Much more than I remember from last time.

Strawberry, some of that sounds a lot like my DH, especially the clueless workaholic bit. At least he's cooking for you Grin. To be fair, I think they go through their own hormonal thing, when we are pregnant. How was he with the last pregnancy?

Went to a "refresher" antenatal class at the hospital last night, for those who have had one already. Spent the whole first hour thinking, there is NO WAY I can do that again. Ha. Interestingly, I did an NCT course the first time though, and I have to say this one was way a bit more practical. They were honest about the fact that walking epidurals are a safety issue and generally not allowed (the NCT teacher said that I could have an epidural and still be mobile for labour and then I was very disappointed when forced to lie on my back). No birthing pools or candles avail in the hospital for the same reason.

Walnut8 · 18/10/2012 09:58

oh and honey, so glad everything is okay!!!

Barbeasty · 18/10/2012 10:46

Walnut I've got a 2 year old. We went out for lunch on Monday and she threw the mother of all tantrums. It lasted about 40 minutes and then a switch flicked and she was charming and perfect. We popped to the same place last night with DH and the barmaid was the same one, who said to DD "ah, are you in a better mood today". I was very Blush although they couldn't have been nicer.

Honey - glad you're ok. A friend had the same thing a few weeks ago and everything was stopped and seems to be going to term now (fingers crossed!)

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 18/10/2012 11:03

Well I managed not to kill my XH. Aren't I a good girl?!

Vege pizza for lunch, yum!

MyDaydream · 18/10/2012 11:40

honey sounds like your being taken care of. A friend of mine showed signs of early labour and she went full term with her baby with help from the hospital. Good luck, hope your managing to get some sleep.
stacey well done on not killing XH. Enjoy your pizza, I'm debating pizza or eggs for lunch and just can't decide.
I'm really looking forward to the toddler stage, I'm terrified of baby but toddlers seem a bit harder to break.
Is anyone else short of breath? I can't go up and down my stairs without needing to really catch my breath at the other end, I feel so unfit. Last night DP had to stay up with me because I was breathless it just felt like everything was pushing down on my lungs and it was so uncomfortable, he was a bit worried but didn't know what to do.

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 18/10/2012 11:46

mydaydream you will soon learn babies are pretty hard to break and bounce well Grin

I've been much more breathless in the last few weeks, baby is definately encroaching on my lung capacity!

coffeeandcream · 18/10/2012 11:58

Hi everyone, hope we're all well. I've not long been up Blush like so may of you, am not sleeping great so am taking sleep wherever/whenever I can find it!

Thanks for your replies yesterday, am feeling much calmer and more rational today. But the silly staff at the ANC really do need a refresher in professionalism...

MyDaydream · 18/10/2012 12:19

coffee don't feel bad about not being up long. I'm lounging in bed still because its more comfortable than the sofa! DP is a noisy fidget arse sleeper so I get my best sleep once he's left for work already!
stacey my step dad gave me the babies bounce advice! I think there'll be a few days where we treat him like an antique vase before we relax a little.

FriendofDorothy · 18/10/2012 12:35

I am so envious of everyone who is able to stay in bed at the moment! :(

SpottyTeacakes · 18/10/2012 12:43

My boss is such a wanker only one more day of him and he's on holiday until I leave. He speaks to people (me) like crap and I'm so fed up of it. Twat. Angry

PurplePidjin · 18/10/2012 13:00

FoD, getting up in the morning beats trying to manage on one 16k income, believe me!
