Congratulations on your little girl mwah

My little one doesn't actually stop moving Hmm well obv it does but I feel movement every hour, wether that be day or night. If im up and about I may not notice it so much but it just never stops! Most active is after dinner though. (or 3 am raves)

I have been very productive today. My wardrobe has been thoroughly sorted. My room is free from clutter, the bathroom has been decluttered and cleaned. Dd's room has been blitzed and tidied to within an inch of its life, and she hoovered it. The kids sorted the front room including sorting the messy play stuff and I managed to almost get the kitchen straight. Next job is declutter kitchen and living room. Clean out and organise all kitchen cupboards, and under stair cupboard, and blitz ds's room. Not much then huh?!

DH is home tomorrow :)

ellliebelle · 30/09/2012 22:22

stacey wish i was as organised as you. We cleaned our garage out last weekend threw loads of stuff away and have a massive pile to ebay i sorted kitchen cupboards out yesterday and went through all the dd's clothes and mine and dh's still need to sort tops of mine and his wardrobes and under our bed our lounge is pretty clutter free anyway thank god but got playroom to do in a few more weeks hopefully convince the dd's to get rid of some stuff and put some stuff away for baby before he/she arrives and father christmas comes :)

Clarella · 30/09/2012 22:26

Lots of girls at nct were talking about water births, but then again many winced at the idea of a net to catch floating poos.... I'm alright with that if it means a free pool Grin

Queenofsiburbia · 30/09/2012 22:31

Still waiting to find a better place to move to (which is getting abit daunting now!) fingers crossed there's something about to come up but don't want to tempt fate.

Anyway it means I've had no incentive to sort out nursery so it's just lots of baby stuff on the bed & my shoe boxes all over the floor . That also makes me feel almost like I'm waiting for us to move before doing anything at all.. Including hospital bag! Think I need to get on the case.

The wriggler does move alot but most movement happens when I'm still, particularly lying down. I think my movement 'rocks' him/her to sleep. Anyway it means like everyone else it's mostly at night!

Anyone else's baby taken up permanent residence in RHS of bump? Mine likes kicking my liver into my rib cage. Thanks a bunch baby!

Also, how are they happiest upside down? Confused doesn't blood go to their head?!

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 30/09/2012 22:34

To all those who's babies love the bath, does your bump go underwater? I'm wondering if I have a really shallow bath or if my bump is as huge as I think coz it sticks out of the water Hmm

Fingers crossed for you queen

Steroid injection 2 - complete!! Thank god for that! Ouch Sad

Stacey - my bump doesn't fit under the water either and I have a fairly normal depth bath I think.

Baby active all day and all night here. Hates anything resting on my belly and also hates monitors on her at hospital.

She is just mostly residing in my rib cage which isn't totally comfy if I'm honest.

And the heart burn!! It's waking me at 4am its so intense!!!

Thanks for advice too. Time is a great healer, time and moving forward instead of looking back. So much is going to happen and change, there's just no telling what's going to occur with XP or his DS

I think I'll have to upload a pic of my granny pants - they're huge, almost cover my bump! Haha.

Would it be strange for birthing partner to take flask of coffee if we have time to make it?? xxx

mwahmwah · 01/10/2012 03:01

What is with these 2.30 wake ups?!
Re the birth pool question; i've wanted one on both labours but by the time I got to hospital it was too late!
And bump out of water in the bath here too, but baby just loves to b wriggling about. Freaky seeing it move over my tum in the bath!

Flumpy2012 · 01/10/2012 06:09

Awake with heartburn Angry

SpottyTeacakes · 01/10/2012 06:57

Flumpy my hospital has a kitchen with tea and coffee making facilities for the dads they can help themselves to.

I've got a really painful hip, combination of walking yesterday and then sleeping on it. Also feels like my ribs are getting worse since the crash, think the expanding baby isn't helping!

Congratulations mwah Smile

EggsMichelle · 01/10/2012 07:52

I love bathing cause Shrimpy's movement causes ripples on the water, hours of fun for sure. And if I had enough water to cover the bump, my bathroom would be flooded! Had loads of activity yesterday, but think that's cause I spent most of the day laying on the bed, got to see the alien like movements.

Back to work today after a long weekend off, got a massive project to do this week but think that's my last bit of work before ML starts (3wks to go!!!)

Spotty your body probably isn't going to get the chance to heal from the accident until after the birth, you will have to make the most of getti g rest while you can until then.

SpottyTeacakes · 01/10/2012 07:56

EggsMichelle do you find your bump is cold as it's poking out the bath? I always seem to have a cold bump!

It's really frustrating because poor dd just wants to clamber on me and she can't, I could cope with a squished bump but can't cope with her digging her big head into my ribs! I feel like I'm constantly pushing her away (not physically Wink)

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 01/10/2012 07:59

Spotty I try and splash water over the bump every now and then to keep it warm Hmm

OP posts:
Flumpy2012 · 01/10/2012 08:32

I pour water over with jug!

Spotty - would lavender heated bean bags help?! I have them and they do help with aches and pains, great when I had whiplash. Just remind DD that it's not long and she can cuddle you and new baby as much as she likes xx

SpottyTeacakes · 01/10/2012 08:47

Might try that Flumpy, well dd has an owl with a wheat bag in so that'll have to do Grin

Glad I'm not the only one trying to keep bump warm!

Clarella · 01/10/2012 09:58

Morning! Would a flannel over bump help keep it warm in the bath? Will have to brave the horror of my barely working bathroom and try a bath! (only 2 more weeks and it'll be shiny and new :) )the women at nct all had the same discussion - I can see a market for a dragons den bath bump warmer...

I'm 32 weeks today. Trying to work out how I feel about that! Definately need to attack the lists and start the h bag collection.

Queenofsiburbia · 01/10/2012 10:07

spotty sorry you're still feeling effects of the accident. Once you're slightly on the mend do you think swimming might help? I'm going this a.m and cannot wait to feel weightless.

I feel like such a 'beetle on its back' in the bath that I've given them up rather. I do find if I have shower with back to shower head, my bump sticks out & gets chilly Blush!

I'm 32 weeks tomorrow clarella and just cannot believe it!!! 2 months is long but incredibly short too.
Dear friend had a baby last night, her first aswell & we've both been quite daunted by thought of labour. Looking forward to talking to her & seeing her DS!

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 01/10/2012 10:37

So uncomfy, can't get my legs together or sit on a hard surface :( bouncing on my ball atm

MyDaydream · 01/10/2012 10:42

queen I think baby has just discovered rib cage this past few days, I've been getting some pain in the bottom ones I've never had before.
Baby doesn't really get active in the bath for me, he loves it when I'm on my side, I think it's why DP hasn't seen my belly shake yet since he stops if I lay on my back.
Is anyone else finding the bottom of their back locks up sometimes? If I stay in one position too long when I go to move I can't because its too painful. I had DP and my step dad threatening (jokingly) to pick me up one arm and one leg each and swing me onto the sofa because I'd got stuck laying on the floor!
DP used babies name to talk about him last night and it sounded really strange. It was the first time he's been referred to by his name rather than baby or him by anyone

Secondsop · 01/10/2012 10:43

Hello ladies. Just had a call from the midwives, my glucose tolerance test had come back "a little bit raised" after the 2 hours. I have to be referred to the diabetic centre at the hospital.

ISpyPlumPie · 01/10/2012 10:51

New fun symptom for this week - nose bleeds! Had one this morning, and although it wasn't huge it freaked me out a bit as I don't remember ever having had one before, pregant or otherwise. The nhs website said it's normal during pregnancy though due to hormonal changes so feel quite reassured by that. Just hope I don't have any in public, esp when I take DS swimming later!

Hope everyone who is uncomfortable/in pain feels better soon.

Flumpy2012 · 01/10/2012 10:51

Secondsop - I'm just having mine. The stuff you have to drink is disgusting!!

MyDaydream · 01/10/2012 10:59

seconds hope everything is okay when you go to the centre. Have they said what the next step will be?

SpottyTeacakes · 01/10/2012 11:05

That's rubbish secondsop hopefully you can control it with diet, after that it will be tablets and insulin as a last resort. They will get you to test your sugar level before and after each meal, my tip is: get right on the side of your fingers just next to the top corner of your nail, it's the least sensitive part, and never do your little fingers!

Gosh Clarella 32 weeks! I'm not even 28 yet

I've got to go to physio for my 'injuries' anyway so hopefully they can suggest something.

Going to make Indian spiced tomato soup in a minute, super easy and yummy

Secondsop · 01/10/2012 11:10

mydaydream the next step is to wait for the referral to the diabetic centre which they said would call me in a few days. I have a midwife appointment scheduled for this afternoon though so will talk to her about it as to what dietary changes I can be making in the meantime. I went on a low carb diet before pregnancy - the India knight book - and found it fine.

spotty thanks for the tips. I feel so down about it, like I've failed in some way by being a bigger BMI before pregnancy. I thought I was doing really well as I haven't put on any weight, even allowing for the weight of the baby etc, and am now 29+4 weeks.
