ellliebellie if you can't find drawers that match, why not find something completely different, as a contrast? Eg a different colour or pattern.

I've always fancied buying a cheap piece of furniture and painting some kind of pattern on it - saw one with a sort of coloured checkerboard design in a homes magazine and it looked amazing. I have some plans to do comic-cook decoupage on some old cheap bedside tables we have.

SpottyTeacakes · 14/10/2012 06:17

JoJo hope you're ok. The force you feel when I car goes into you is ridiculous. I reckon the person who went into us wasn't doing more than 20 or 30 on impact but I can still feel the shunt. Makes me so glad it wasn't a high speed crash!

Dd thinks 4:30 is an acceptable time to get up Angry

Bellaboo123 · 14/10/2012 07:22

Yay my app is working again - haven't been able to reply argh!

jojo hope ur ok and not too sore today

zoe welcome

Thanks for the reassurance on my bump issue I'm feeling better now - if the mw was that worried she'd have sent me for a scan (I hope!)

SIL over today urgh but gotta do my duty. Hope u all have lovely Sundays x

SpottyTeacakes · 14/10/2012 07:27

Bella the app is being totally crap. Turning my phone on and off sorts it out. Have fun with your SIL Wink

knottyhair · 14/10/2012 07:31

Hi everyone! Welcome Zoe, and sorry to hear about all the car related incidents - Jojo, hope you're OK.
Had a lovely day yesterday - was in town with DS and he insisted (as usual) that we go in Mothercare. He looked at all the Christmas outfits and wants to "dress Rosa up so I can have my own mini Santa" Grin. Promised him we'd go back in nearer Christmas and get something. Then my niece came over with some more baby clothes for us and we all got lovely cuddles with my very smiley 4 month old great niece. Ended the day with shepherds pie in front of SCD and Merlin. Hope everyone has a lovely Sunday x

SpottyTeacakes · 14/10/2012 07:32

Mmm I'm gong to have shepherds pie for dinner today! Thanks knotty!

knottyhair · 14/10/2012 07:38

Enjoy Spotty! I could easily eat it again today Blush. I'm making venison stew for tonight -trying to up my red meat intake to help get my iron up.

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 14/10/2012 07:58

Oh jojo I hope you're ok. Did you go and get checked out? It's times like this I'm thankful I have a tank of a Volvo, my car mainly consists of airbags!

Well for the past 2 nights I've managed to sleep through, well not sleep through but wake up for a wee or whatever and get straight back to sleep, which has been wonderful. My ear is on its way to being better, it doesn't feel closed up today and only hurts when I poke it so that's a good sign!

Off to a friends with the dcs to help walk her dogs today! Should be fun, haven't seen her since I was about 18 weeks or so! Lol

Morning, thankyou all for your well wishes Smile

I've rang the maternity unit so i'm going in this morning to be checked over. The midwife wasnt concerned at all when i first rang but once i mentioned my back aching she suggested i do go in. I do feel ok apart from a bit achy, i just don't fancy going into labour just yet!

Hopefully that is all the horrible car stuff done & dusted for all of us!

spotty & barbeasty did you get checked out when you had your accidents?

SpottyTeacakes · 14/10/2012 08:35

Yep I did they checked the heartbeat and had a feel of my tummy. I could feel him moving but the seatbelt really crushed me so it's always best to get checked I think Smile

PurplePidjin · 14/10/2012 09:12

Jojo, hope all's well. Dp had back ache for ages when he got rear ended so it's probably unrelated.

I have embarked upon The Washing Of The Baby Clothes! Thankfully i have a 30 minute 30* quick wash cycle to just freshen things up :o

utopian99 · 14/10/2012 09:44

Hi zoe and jojo hope you're okay? Hope car related horridness is finished now, after so many accidents! We went out to look at a car to replace the mini yesterday. Sad I'll miss it so much, but it's really not a family car; dh is doing the research though, as i got to choose last time.

Had a jolly day though on the whole as we were taking MIL out for birthday lunch, and they offered to give us some money towards the pram, so showed them the Stokke which they seemed to like. Dh let me watch SCD then asked to watch The Thing, which is a vile film, so spent most of it behind my hands, but got a massage to make up for it afterward.. Grin Am now waiting for Dh to wake up, watching my bump suspiciously while the Crumb larks about, can't get the film out of my mind! Ugh...

Clarella · 14/10/2012 10:29

Oh not more car bad news, hoping all is well jojo x

Queen, I ended up doing a similar calculation and came to the same result (thought I'd be getting a little carried away posting!) And why everyone sticks to weeks and can't be bothered to translate for non baby people!

Welcome zoe!

Did bf workshop yesterday, v amusing to hear which dads had either assumed not for them, asked permission to miss it, looked hungover and were called to get there pronto, the other dads are here! Quite shocked by bf figures in the NE, apparently highest down south and reduces as you go further north, in one area up here recently it was as low as 30%. Another girl had been very worried by an experience where she had sat with a friend outside bf and a middle aged woman walked by and said 'I can't believe you're doing that, disgusting' - the wasn't bothered but it had really worried her. Im thinking of retorts in preparation ....!

Clarella · 14/10/2012 10:30

*the,mum wasn't bothered

Clarella · 14/10/2012 10:57

Ahhhh so excited, v close friend just told me she's 10 wks after nearly 2 years trying - we now know 8 friends all expecting between now and May! Better buy a good birthday calendar!

FriendofDorothy · 14/10/2012 11:13

I am finding that I am doing a lot of sleep talking. I seem to be having very vivid dreams and and then waking up sitting up in bed and talking. I actually shook The Mister awake last night. I was really distressed and sleep talking. My poor husband didn't quite know what to do!

Barbeasty · 14/10/2012 11:29

Jojo hope you're ok. Yes I got checked. My bump had gone hard and the baby wasn't moving (for about 2hrs when I got down to the mlu). All was ok, and like Spotty they had a feel of the bump and checked the heartbeat.

JoJoB77 · 14/10/2012 11:57

All ok Smile. There is still protein in my wee but she didnt seem concerned.

Glad i went now, was reassuring to hear the heartbeat.

Clarella · 14/10/2012 12:12

Glad all well jojo :)

Lol Friend! I too have very vivid half awake dreams in early morning (ive always sleep talked and sometimes do this thing where I laugh hysterically - apparently its started happening again) This morning it was about cutting the grass very neatly on a farm track on a hill, fabulous glossy grass, but then became about a run away lawn mower followed by a run away dyson (ball).

Subliminal message to check ladybush?

No way could I have watched that film utopian.

Oh who was dribbling? Me too.

EggsMichelle · 14/10/2012 13:27

Dribbler and sleep talker, DH got quite a shock first time we spent the night together, and it hasn't stopped since, I still can't work out why he shares a bed with me!

SpottyTeacakes · 14/10/2012 13:29

Just been shopping and got new Moses basket mattress, little hat and breast milk storage bags. Just got to get swaddle blankets and changing bag and we're done! Also got two jumpers and a pair of trousers from h&m as I have nothing warm enough to wear and my over the bump jeans are all too small!

WerewolvesDoTheFandango · 14/10/2012 14:10

Glad to hear all's well Jojo I think it's always better to get checked out, stops you working yourself up. But when it's you you don't take your own advice!

I'm just back from my first aquanatal class, I found it really easy while I was doing it, then got out of the pool and felt so heavy and lumpy! Also ravenous!

Off out for a nice tea tonight with dneph hopefully he's in a good mood as when he's not he makes sure everyone knows about it Confused

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 14/10/2012 18:28

Grrrrrr sorry girls so angry. Today while I was out DH went to mils to sort out bils Xmas present. DH has just said that she made him sit down and go through a baby name book as her and fil don't like our choice of baby name as it has some religious connotations.

Aibu to be pissed off? If it were my mum I'd never have put up with that, it's our decision what we name our baby not theirs! Also angry that DH told her a name he'd like but I hate and now she's decided that that is a lovely name

Urgh I don't hate my il's but I do wish they'd piss off!

OP posts:
Bellaboo123 · 14/10/2012 18:45

stacey I'd be so pissed off too - who the*** does she think she is! It's ur baby, you can call it what u like...and to do it while you're not there! Grrrrr I'd be fuming! Angry feeling your pain...

I just had to ensure SIL...she just annoys me!

PurplePidjin · 14/10/2012 18:48

I think I'd be fuming at dh actually, Stacey - ILs were asked for, and gave, their opinion. H is the one that a) asked and b) gave them duff info...

We're keeping names to ourselves apart from my Gran (at 91 she deserved to know in case she doesn't meet her 1st ggc) for just that reason
