Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Clarella · 12/10/2012 23:01

Also, technically we aren't pregnant for the first two 'weeks' so it all sort of works out

ellliebelle · 12/10/2012 23:05

Ill be 30 weeks on monday so 10 to go and month wise ill be 7 months on 24th october

EggsMichelle · 13/10/2012 02:55

Bugger, DH woke me up coming to bed (he was trying to be quiet) and now I'm wide awake. I'm going to have to find something on Netflix to send me off to sleep. At least it's not the neighbours killing each other!

StrawberrytallCAKE · 13/10/2012 03:46

utopian thank you that is excellent news!!! I am a hoarder of recipe books both electronic and the 100+ sat in my kitchen Grin

So it seems this is my middle of the night wake up time! I don't think pizza and diet coke were a good idea as the acid reflux is quite nasty. Sorry for tmi! Had tums feeling better. Not so good that I have been having hiccups at the top of my bump Hmm she has been head down since 26 weeks and has now decided to flip!?!?

EggsMichelle · 13/10/2012 06:48

Where is the good food recipes? Is it the App Store or iBook store? I'm still awake from 2am, but feel a nap on the sofa coming on, watching cbeebies has made me tired (I wonder if that's why so many parents stick their kids in front of the tv all day every day?)

SpottyTeacakes · 13/10/2012 06:53

link here Eggs Grin bargain!

Secondsop · 13/10/2012 07:04

I'm awake too. Woke because i heard the catflap go half an hour ago, but our cat was in his usual place on the bed sleeping between us. He woke up for the noise too but is such a big scaredy cat (ridiculous for a former feral cat) he didn't move off the bed, he just did his outraged face. So I got up and started walking down the stairs at which point the catflap went again so the interloper cat must have heard me and gone back out.

I should start locking the catflap at night.

SpottyTeacakes · 13/10/2012 07:14

Thanks for that utopian I'm stupidly excited by it Grin

SpottyTeacakes · 13/10/2012 07:14

Oh secondsop cheeky bugger!

Secondsop · 13/10/2012 07:16

Yes utopian thank you - I'm going to download onto my iPad later.
spotty I'm dead jealous of your 100+ cookbooks - I have a big bookcase in the kitchen that I dream of filling entirely with books (although I'll need to find somewhere to put the other books in the bookcase!).

WerewolvesDoTheFandango · 13/10/2012 09:13

Hello all, I've had my 3rd night of being awake 3:30-6:30am and its starting to grate a bit! Slightly comforting to know some of you were up with me but still. The peanut butter on toast at 4:30am did make up for it slightly though, may have been the most delicious thing I've ever eaten as I was so ravenous!

EggsMichelle · 13/10/2012 09:40

Thanks for the link, got it installed on the iPad which is just made for being a cook book! I fell asleep at about 7.30, and woken at 9 by the dog wanting the toilet, grrr!!!

Queenofsiburbia · 13/10/2012 09:49

Hello all,

I've been so confused by the month thing too. Basically I think because everyone thinks its 9months long but they say 40 weeks = 10 months!

Which it doesn't because clearly only February is exactly a 4 week month & all the rest are longer than 4 weeks.

Here's my calculation....
40weeks X 7 days = 280 days

280 days / 30 days (ave length of a month) = 9.3 months!!

So at 33 weeks now, I'm about 7 & half months.

Does this seem right to everyone else?

Phew, my brain hurts Confused

WerewolvesDoTheFandango · 13/10/2012 10:06

I just say x weeks and let people work it out for themselves! I keep saying 28 weeks but I'm 30 today. Only about 9 weeks til induction, yay!

EggsMichelle · 13/10/2012 10:11

Oh dear Queen that's a lot of maths for a Saturday morning!

PurplePidjin · 13/10/2012 10:30

Queen, that's the same conclusion i came to with my date to date method. Must be the right one Wink

Most people are now asking how long I've got, though, so no complicated arithmetic required!

Secondsop · 13/10/2012 11:10

I count in weeks not months as it makes me feel like I'm further along...

utopian that bbc food app is really ace, thanks again for the tip. Lots of great ideas for Christmas.

StrawberrytallCAKE · 13/10/2012 11:10

Hmm, I've just been working in calendar months back from due date, due on dec 3rd so every 3rd of the month i'm 1 month more pregnant. I like to round up to make myself feel better to the nearest 1/2 month so I would say I'm 7 1/2 months. :)

Just at the cinema with dd watching juniors sat morning film, she loves pirates and this week it's pirates in an adventure with scientists which is thrilling.......but she did just have her booster injections and was a very brave girl so deserves it.

SpottyTeacakes · 13/10/2012 12:13

I just had newborn (well 4 week) snuggles!! My friend said she forgot how painful labour was aaaahhhhhh panicking again now! She didn't have pain relief though and her local didn't work for stitches....

PurplePidjin · 13/10/2012 12:40

Dp's washed all the grown up clothes and buggered off camping for the weekend, I've sterilised all the hand-me-down toys and will take the cot up and assemble it later. I've also scrounged myself a lift to a gig tonight :o

MyDaydream · 13/10/2012 12:58

spotty I'm jealous of your cuddles, I know no newborns but I've taken to awwing every child under the age of about 2 that I see while out!
I saw a man with a sling carrier thing today and it was just adorable, he was surrounded by lots of other adorable children of assorted sizes too. Very jealous of all you ladies with baby wearing men.
DP is off for a boys night so I'm going to my mums to be spoilt. She seems to have forgotten DP worked nights until 4 months ago and I'm very used to being by myself, whenever she finds out I'm alone she insists I come round for dinner and cuddles with her and the dog!

zoebowee · 13/10/2012 14:31

Long time lurker here, thought it about time I join in. 31 + 1 at the mo, due Dec 14th with DC1. Don't know the sex, live abroad with DP due to work so pretty much all aloney. Will be asking many questions about, err.. well.. what to do with a baby?

PurplePidjin · 13/10/2012 14:41

Welcome, zoe. 33+1 with my first (boy) and pondering getting the mw to write "boob in here" and "nappy fastens this side" in permanent marker in the relevant places before i leave hospital Wink

MaMaPo · 13/10/2012 15:29

Hi Zoe - I'm the same as you! Due Dec 15th with my first, effectively clueless and also living 'abroad' (which for me, is the Uk). Welcome!

Secondsop · 13/10/2012 15:29

Hi zoe. I had to ask my mum what you do with a baby, ie where do you put them when they're newborn. I wasn't sure if you needed a crib downstairs or a chair or whether you held them all the time. She firmlh said "on a mat on the floor" which settles it.

Whoever said something about car stuff happening in threes...
We pulled over in front of the house and started to reverse into the driveway, and as we were doing so, as the car nose swung outwards (as they are wont to do when a car reverses) a massive 4wd suddenly appeared as if to overtake us and braked suddenly as the car nose came out. The woman shrieked "fucking hell!" at us and my husband (who was driving) said sorry, but what on earth were they doing trying to zoom past round us as we reversed? There simply isnt room in the road for any car to do that yet alone a big car like theirs. And surely any idiot knows that a car reversing into a driveway will inevitably have to swing its nose out as, well, that's kind of basic geometry? Luckily no contact was made but we both felt a bit shocked what with having to brake suddenly when they appeared next to us, and also from the yelling.
