Urgh so emotional today just feel the need to cry for no reason. Left DP at christening party and came home as feeling so down. Feeling very sorry for myself cuddled up with the dogs...sobbing sofa here I come! Sorry for the moan Sad

emilyeggs · 06/10/2012 21:23

Need to rant! I'm really angry with DH!! He picked up the kids this weekend with a giant barbie about 20 years old from his sister that she has given to dd, that's fine but it's ugly as hell and we have no room for it. I said to Jess to remember to take it home with her and he butts in saying her room is already full of junk. He then asked Jess what she wanted to do (she's 6 by the way) and she says her room has no space! I felt totally undermined.......by a six year old!

Secondsop · 06/10/2012 21:30

honeymum nappy dalek is my name for a nappy disposal bin that bags each used nappy up individually into a sort of nappy sausage.

emily a giant barbie as in a barbie doll?

emilyeggs · 06/10/2012 21:41

Yeah, scary looking thing! It's not so much the doll, he could have said to me later that she has no space in her room. It's more the way he questioned what I was saying and asked Jess instead what she wanted! What does that say to the kids other that it doesn't matter what I say....they can do what they like!

I might be being totally unreasonable but just don't like being questioned in front of the kids,

EggsMichelle · 06/10/2012 22:03

Emily I'm imagining some kind of blow up sex doll, and that's scaring me!

I can't read as fast as you all chat, so sadly I have missed a few pages, but barbeasty don't over do it this weekend, you need to get rest (useless female drivers Confused)

Went shopping in London yesterday, which wasn't our usual high speed shop, but did enjoy getting offered a seat on every tube train, mentally noted that it was middle age ladies who stood up the most, although a school boy in his uniform gave me his seat!

After a couple of months of silence from my neighbours, they came home drunk last night and proceeded to beat each other up in my front garden. The police must be getting pissed off with me reporting them, but felt this time it was very justified!

mwahmwah · 06/10/2012 22:08

I made my first purchase today :D little baby gro and jacket new with tags at a baby mkt for just £2 each - they retail in a designer baby shop here for £26 and £37, what a bargain! Person must've got them as a gift or I imagine there's no way she'd be selling that low. All the better for me!

Cookiesandcream06 · 06/10/2012 23:11

I'm with you bella this weekend, so big hugs and sympathy to you! DP has been out drinking since 5 and won't stumble in til 3/4 and tonight it's just grinding on me (totally unreasonable pregnant woman alert!)

Also , how are others coping with other DCs?! I know there are wonder women amongst us that have 4- seriously how do you do it?! I am completely exhausted and feel like a terrible mother for not having the energy for DD, she's so hyper and on-the-go and I just want to hibernate in my sobbing sofa and nap?!

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 07/10/2012 01:55

Grrr, always awake with heartburn at this time of night! Bored and uncomfy!

EggsMichelle · 07/10/2012 04:29

If u were to buy a gun and shoot my neighbours, I wonder if I could claim insanity on the grounds of pregnancy hormones?

2blessed · 07/10/2012 06:19

eggs I've had that very same thought number of times....
Morning! Yep, been up tossing & turning for a while now - grrr
Went to a baby show yesterday at bluewater and bought pushchair with car seat thrown in. soo happy that I've done it.
Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend and pains/sobs/fighting neighbors are subsiding

Flumpy2012 · 07/10/2012 06:43

Awake with heartburn too!!

Had a v productive weekend here. Despite parents lack of tact they've been amazing practically! The house is totally sorted and ship shape, all furniture moved and ready to go. And tomorrow they're cleaning top to bottom :-) who could ask for more.
Baby clothes sorted into ages, furniture moved. XP's possessions relegated to spare room. Bliss

Just one sad note, dog has been relegated to the landing Sad it's best for her and baby so we're starting now but the paw knocking on the bedroom door broke my heart at bed time as I ushered her back to bed. How do I show her I still love her! xx

Cookiesandcream06 · 07/10/2012 07:42

A awful night of heartburn AND restless legs, added with 4/5 toilet trips. And DD up at 6. Zzzzz
Sorry to hear about everyone else's bad sleeps, it rubs salt in the wound when DP is nursing his hangover in bed Angry
Moan over Smile

SpottyTeacakes · 07/10/2012 08:20

I JUST WOKE UP Grin dd stayed at my parents for the first time ever so this is a big lay in for me! Sorry to hear about everyone on the sobbing sofa, pain au chocolate and coffee all round??

cookies I feel like the worst mum ever too at the moment I'm just so lazy poor dd Sad it's meant to rain all next week which is rubbish but her favourite thing is splashing in puddles and that doesn't take much effort on my part so hopefully that'll keep her happy!

pmgkt · 07/10/2012 08:34

emily - i have step kids too and dh does the same to me, i dont think they see what they do, and even though mine arent naughty and are told off when needed by either of us, i think the dads want to make them as happy with the things that dont matter so that they dont feel so bad when they have to tell them no, or feel guilty when they cant do what the kids want. another slightly annoying thing is i have been asking to take ds1 swimming for weeks so that he can show dh his new swimming skills, but i get "i dont feel like swimming, its not something i want to do on my day off" then he rings the girls in the week and asks what they would like to do this weekend and they say swimming, so swimming it is, no questions asked.

JoJoB77 · 07/10/2012 09:06

Morning Smile

Wow so Envy of your lie in spotty! Sounds like u made the most of it too, bet you feel great!

cookies i feel exactly the same about my DD too. Im so exhausted this week and finding it hard to keep her amused.

I was so uncomfortable last night, baby must have been wedged right under my ribs (as per usual) but i was struggling to breathe too which was very unnerving. I ended up in bed at 9. I feel better today so hopefully baby has moved a bit.

Hope you all have lovely Sundays

emilyeggs · 07/10/2012 10:36

Is it normal to be in constant pain! It hurts when I breath out, has been like this for a bit now. Feels like I'm winded all the time. I didn't realise pregnancy could be so uncomfortable/painful. Sad

I'm glad a few of you got some better sleep and totally sympathise with the others suffering hart burn. I'm off to work now, don't normally do Sundays by need an extra day off in the week for mw appointment

emilyeggs · 07/10/2012 10:42

pmgkt something similar happened to me. I was saying about taking the kids swimming and DH said he didn't want to as he doesn't really like it (I love seeing there faces all happy when we go). He finally agreed for us to go on the Sunday and when I had got home from work the sat night he had taken them, he said they had kept on at him all day. It's really hard being a step mum sometimes, they don't love me like a real parent and I understand that but we do have fun and all get on great. I just feel my opinion doesn't matter sometimes or when I arrange things I'm the one left out!

utopian99 · 07/10/2012 10:51

Those of you with prior experience, what size nappy bin is best? Planning on using reuseables and getting a liner, but have seen small 16litre bins or other people recommending 30-40litre ones!

Lovely wedding yesterday, lots of dancing and silliness from everyone's DHs as they're old school friends which was hilarious to watch. also the most amazing chocolatey cake, which i snaffled a bit of and now eating for breakfast Blush while watching grand priz with recovering dh.. Hope everyone else has lovely relaxing Sundays..

HoneyMum21 · 07/10/2012 18:16

What a quiet weekend it's been on here. Hope everyone has had a nice weekend and sorry to those feeling rough and having family problems of various types. Hope the sobbing sofa has offered some comfy respite.

My sister has been round this afternoon helping with the decoration in the nursery. Finished building the dresser this morning (it took 2 days - total nightmare) and unpacked the cotbed which looked relatively easy until we found that they hadn't sent us any of the fittings which led to a long conversation with John Lewis to get them to send some out.

emilyeggs · 07/10/2012 18:35

Hope all are well and enjoying the last of the weekend. I have my 28 wk app tomorrow. Should I expect the wc jab and flu jab or will I have to have pre arranged it? Also gonna ask about contraception after the birth that allows me to breast feed (injection maybe)!

SpottyTeacakes · 07/10/2012 18:42

You'll never guess who I saw as we were driving to go and feed the ducks?? The man who crashed into us! I got dp to reverse and chased him down the road. Finally got his correct number plate turns out was simple error on his part Hmm so hopefully will all get sorted now!

Dp is being an arse. Said he's fed up and is going to leave all because I snapped at him for standing over me saying 'ah you've put too much in it it's not going to work' when I was trying to wrap my fajita Blush in all fairness he was obviously just trying to wind me up and I was hungry and I'm tired and..... Oh yeah pregnant! Then he gave dd a biscuit after she didn't touch her dinner blatantly just trying to annoy me Angry

PrunellaDeVille · 07/10/2012 19:24

Great news spotty that's a bit of luck Smile, love it when things work out.

PrunellaDeVille · 07/10/2012 19:25

...obviously re the car not the DH Blush

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 07/10/2012 19:34

Sobbing sofa for me. Just bad an arguement with DH because XH hadn't done dd's homework with her so I've just had to do it with her and she's ended up in bed half hour late. So I sent a text saying this ;

Dd has homework at the weekends that needs completing regardless of what else is going on. She brought this weeks home on Friday and it needs handing in tomorrow. I don't appreciate still being sat here at 7pm, when they should be getting into bed, helping with homework that should have already been completed. I have told her it is also up to her to ensure it is done as I will not be doing it on a Sunday night again. I started handing the responsibility to you on your weekend because you requested to become more involved in their schooling. If this is no longer the case please let me know and I will make sure she completes the homework before coming to your house on a Friday.

Now DH has had a huge go at me saying I shouldn't have sent the text because it will make XH angry! But I'm fucking angry so I don't see why I shouldn't say anything! So now he's pissed off upstairs and I'm crying downstairs. Was already feeling like shit from shopping all day for all xmas and birthday presents and then wrapping them all. Really didnt need this!

Sorry for the ridiculously long rant!

WillYouDoTheFandango · 07/10/2012 19:41

Hopefully you'll get your car sorted now then spotty. Sorry you're dh is being a pain knob bugger off in the bath and leave him to it! mine has shouted at me twice in the last day (most laid back man in England has never shouted at me in 8 years together). Once for screaming at a daddy long legs, which are the only insects I am afraid absolutely terrified of and once for dropping a tub of coffee. It didn't even smash and he'd dropped a glass 30 seconds earlier and I'd only said oops! He apologised profusely when I got very angry (first one) and burst into sobs (second one) though! Hormones are good for something!
