Haven't had a chance to catch up on the thread yet it moves so fast!

LO wasn't moving a lot yday and after trying all my tricks to get her to wiggle she just wasn't having any of it so we came to the hospital for monitoring and I got admitted early hours this morning, there was a drop in baby's heart beat which they said could of been her moving awayfrom the monitor r tugging her cord and that's what changes the reading but they wanted me to stay in for more monitoring so waiting for a scan at some point today

Cacacaz · 28/09/2012 11:01

Valium and Iheart she is 38+2 today, I said all along that a party might not be the best idea, given that her edd was so close to my nephews birthday. She wanted to make it special for him, being the last time he would have a party without having to share sil and bil attention (which I understand) but I have tried to reinforce the fact that he is about to turn 3, so chances are he won't remember this anyway. It's also much more important that his mummy and baby brother are safe.

I also saw the osfa offer on little lambs have you used those Valium?

horseylady · 28/09/2012 11:02

Hope all ok nervous!!

Do we need to call the gp then for whooping cough or should we be contacted? Seeing the mw wed but will be 36 weeks then?

Iheartpasties · 28/09/2012 11:04

nervous20 i am glad that you have gone to the hosptial. fingers crossed for you.

ValiumQueen · 28/09/2012 11:12

Sorry cacacaz I did not realise it was your nephews birthday. I though it was to celebrate the birth Blush. I would think he would be upset having a party without mummy there. I have not used the OSFA nappies as they would not fit my daughter. They have been put away for my boy, even though they are pink. I would recommend them though having seen and felt and washed them, but may need something else for night time once baby bigger and weeing more.
they would dry very quickly, but I doubt they would last to potty training unless you have a really skinny child.

THose of you who have had/are having the flu jab, did the midwife tell you to get it or have you just rung your surgeries to say you want it?

My midwife didn't mention it last week but then when I was picking up my prescription I saw the signs in the surgery. Not sure whether to wait for midwife at 34 weeks or just to ring up and get booked in.

applepieinthesky · 28/09/2012 11:14

Nervous I'm pleased they are taking it seriously and monitoring you. Hope all is ok x

Peaky1 · 28/09/2012 11:27

After reading all of this about jabs I've text my midwife but she hasn't got back to me yet. I imagine they'll all have an influx of calls about it this week. I'm just going to call my GP surgery when they start accepting calls in the next ten mins to ask them as I'm 35+3 already. I'll let you know how I get on...

ShellyBobbs · 28/09/2012 11:32

Fatima, when I spoke to the practice nurse today about the whooping cough jab, she asked me if anyone especially my midwife (and I've seen LOADS lately) had mentioned about me having the flu jab, she was all Hmm when I said nobody had even mentioned it to me. So I'd give your surgery a ring or ring your midwife up even.

Horsey wouldn't hurt to speak to the surgery rather than wait until Wednesday, it has to be done before 38 weeks to give your baby the most protection they are saying. After 38 weeks they will still give it but can't guarantee that your baby will get the full 'hit' of the vaccine, you may have to wait so the sooner the better.

Nervous Good luck with the scan, hope everything with you and baba is OK.

My doctor has just rang (you have heard about the astronomical amount of times he rings me) to see how I am, my thyroid is acting up apparently and he didn't want me to wait to get the standard letter of 'make an appointment to see your GP'. Think I may have the best doctor in the world Grin, I sound like some sort of yokel lol.

Peaky1 · 28/09/2012 11:49

Just booked my flu jab for Sat 6th Oct at 11:07 Hmm. Receptionists at my surgery haven't heard anything about the whooping cough vaccination yet so advised me to wait to hear what the midwife says when she gets chance.

Brockle · 28/09/2012 11:55

Just called the community MW's who said they have just received an email in that it will be done through the GP's who should be sending out letters offering the jab. I called the GP's and they knew nothing about it and I haven't been offered the flu jab. I will give it a few days and call them again.

DesperateHousewife21 · 28/09/2012 11:55

I've booked my flu jab for the 13th oct and will speak to mw on mon about wh cough jab.

Got my next scan in 2 weeks too that's coming round fast!

Peaky1 · 28/09/2012 12:07

My midwife has just text me back. I'm the 2nd of her ladies to enquire this morning but they've had no official message as yet in her team. I guess I just wait and see what action occurs as it should spread nationally if DOH are jumping on it.

Peaky1 · 28/09/2012 12:12

Oooh and I have to share the fact that I'm ridiculously excited that my Cheeky Wipes have arrived! Very nearly posted a pic on the FB group...fear I need to get a life.

The arrival of the wipes has brought a question to put to you ladies though - when do you think it's best to start using them? I'm very much all for the water and cotton wool for the first 6-8 weeks. The Cheeky Wipes are just terry towelling in water and essential oils but do you agree that I should resist my sad urges and use them after 6-8 weeks? Mind you, I guess terry towelling in the water alone might be handy for particularly messy bums. Any thoughts?

ShellyBobbs · 28/09/2012 12:16

Nope, sorry. I'm a chuck us those wipes kinda girl!

YellowWellies · 28/09/2012 12:20

Good luck nervous I hope all is ok. My bellydweller was really quiet for a couple of days after my 'rolled over and broke their neck' dream / paranoia on Wednesday and I was just working myself up to go and see the MW (and officially join the 'headless chicken' panic club that I'm sure she's mentally put me in) and I talked myself out of it. Today the wee one has been really active and I'm feeling reassured but you've given me a kick up the arse that even if I feel daft I should go and get checked the next time it happens.

Good luck! xxxx

Bluetinkerbell · 28/09/2012 12:22

Peaky I will be using the Cheeky Wipes from the first day :)
They're already in use now for DD1, for messy hands and washes in the morning :) I love them!

horseylady · 28/09/2012 12:25

Love the receptionist!!! No official word from the doh she then went on to say 'oh has it been tested, I dont think I'd risk it. What if they've not tested it?'

I just laughed, smiled to myself and said I'd speak to mw wed lol!! Think I'll end up missing out. It'll take weeks to sort it!!

Titsalinabumsquash · 28/09/2012 12:28

I've had 4 emails today (I get weekly updates on what baby is up too etc) that have all stated that reduced movements are to be expected from now on! Shock that's awful advice and I thought very out dated. Anyway nervous I hope all is well with yourself and LO.

applepieinthesky · 28/09/2012 12:40

I have had several similar ones tits. My baby is more active now than ever!

Dixiebell · 28/09/2012 13:06

Nebbo, love Niamh (although there is the spelling/pronunciation issue!), and Elin. Both unusual. Like Isla too although know a few babies with it.

Peaky1 · 28/09/2012 13:12

Horsey - What do you reckon are the time scales for surgery's getting the vaccine and clinics getting set up? I think I'd like to be vaccinated but I'm only a day apart from you on pregnancy. Thinking on it, if it can be done then I'm sure they'll prioritise those who are cutting it fine.

As for baby movements, mine feel bigger and more obvious now. I don't get many of the twitchy kicks anymore but more movements that make me pull a face as it feels really weird! When it kicks off (pardon the pun) I tend to just sit and watch now. It cracks me up!

FatimaLovesBread · 28/09/2012 13:21

Just been going through babies clothes and we've only got 3 long sleeved vests in newborn/first size. All the others are in 0-3months. Do you think I should get another pack or two of newborn? Or will 0-3 be ok? Seeing as this baby is predicted to be a 9lber will it even fit in the first size, although I suppose it could be born at 37-39 weeks and be smaller.

Arghh sorry for all the questions Grin

horseylady · 28/09/2012 13:21

Well if the doh has releasednkthing official yet to health professionals I would imagine it'll take 2 weeks or so. That takes me to 37 weeks!!

I guess those closet will get vaccinated first....will see

FatimaLovesBread · 28/09/2012 13:42

Does anyone else get annoyed by some of the emails?!
I've just got on from mothercare saying congratulations you are now in week 32 except I'm not, I'm 32 weeks today which means I'm starting week 33!! I got one from cow and gate last Friday saying week 32 so at least that's correct but then in a few hours ill get one from pampers saying "pregnancy preview: week 32". Well it's not a preview is it since I've already finished week 32.

Pointless rant of the day but it's been annoying me for weeks now
