Congrats garden!!! Glad all well and amazing weights!!

blonderthanred · 03/10/2012 09:31

Wow many congrats garden! Glad they are doing so well. What lovely news.

kirrinIsland · 03/10/2012 09:32

Wow - congratulations garden - lovely names :) and lovely weights too!

I am another one with no sleep last night - must be something in the air! DD woke at 4.30 and just wouldn't go back to sleep without me there. After 4 times of going back to my bed and having to get up 5 minutes later cos she was up again, I admitted defeat and slept on her floor. Not wildly comfortable but at least I got to doze a bit.

Good luck with the scan today detective - good to know they are keeping an eye on things now. Shame it may scupper your home birth plans, but, like you say, the baby's health is what is important.

StuntNun · 03/10/2012 09:35

Congratulations Garden those are brilliant weights for such early babies.

I managed to get the boys to school but I still feel really dizzy and nauseous despite drinking loads so I think I will go back to bed. How can I still be tired after 12 hours sleep?

Congratulations garden Smile They sound like they're doing really well. I know someone who had a baby recently at 35 weeks and she didn't weigh as much as that so they are fabulous weights for twins!

LittleLolly · 03/10/2012 09:43

Congratulations Garden, lovely names! Hope you get to take them home very soon!

Just had a phone call from my GP surgery, appointment at 9.30 am tomorrow for whooping cough vaccine! Persistence has paid off!

DesperateHousewife21 · 03/10/2012 09:47

Yay! Congrats garden so pleased for you! It's lovely to hear these stories, it's really happening!

Someone I know had their baby on sat, she was 4 weeks ahead of me so would have only been 37/ 38 weeks. Scary to think that could be me in 4 weeks!

kissyfur · 03/10/2012 09:53

Congrats garden what lovely news and beautiful names Smile hope they continue to do well and that you are getting plenty of rest

ValiumQueen · 03/10/2012 10:15

I had a dreadful night too. DH works late on a Tuesday, and DD2 would not go to bed. She has been ill so not surprising really. Had to bring her into bed with me as I could not physically do the rapid return. DH put her in bed at 11 when he got home, but she was in with us again at 2.30 as she would not settle after waking. 2yos take up more room than a large adult, and not much sleep was had. I woke up so very sore.

I am very envious of you first timers in some ways, as you can nap when you can and rest when you can, but I have sympathy also as I remember how awful the waiting was.

Catbag · 03/10/2012 10:21

OMG Garden! Immense congratulations to you! I have to confess that, despite all my whinging, I am utterly terrified that I'm going to go into labour any second now! :o

I think I may be the only twin lady left on this thread now?

Catbag · 03/10/2012 10:22

Hmm, that was supposed to be a 'shock' face!

Catbag · 03/10/2012 10:27

Weeelll, I suppose that I should stop procrastinating on MN and drive the 40-odd miles to my local DVLA office so I can change the tax class on my car. I have however, after reading Garden's news, also picked up my Maternity notes and my labour bag to put in the car, lol Grin

ValiumQueen · 03/10/2012 10:28

I think you are cat I was expecting you to say you were envious Grin

The 4am thing is when we are at our lowest ebb. Most deaths happen at that time, not that any of us are likely to die obviously, but the very old for example are most likely to pass in their sleep around that time.

detective it is tricky being a professional in the area that you are currently a client/patient. I know with my own mental health it is hard to be counselled for example, when I know the theory and am experienced in the practice. I do hope your lovely plans are not scuppered, but what is important is your little belly dweller and his health. Please do not push yourself too much.

ValiumQueen · 03/10/2012 10:29

My notes live in the car now.

ditsygem · 03/10/2012 10:30

Congratulations Garden, that is lovely news and they were both good weights too for early twins!
Enjoy your little ones and look after yourself too - make sure you get lots of rest if you can.

FatimaLovesBread · 03/10/2012 10:38

Wow congrats GardenPixies They're fab weights.

I've got a day off today, also have my first CBT appointment at lunchtime.

I rang my GP this morning and booked a flu jab appt, first clinic they're doing is 6th Nov when I'll be 37+4. Will this be too late?
I also asked about Whooping cough and they say they haven't heard anything yet apart from what's in the news so they don't know when it will be available. I'm 32+5 today so still have a bit of time to play with, but what should I do now? Ring my MW?

Iheartpasties · 03/10/2012 10:45

gardenpixies sorry, I cross posted with your wonderful news. The girls are a very good size ? wow it sounds wonderful. I am so happy for you :)

stuntnun please look after yourself? Have you been over doing it?

catbag yes, please look after yourself as well, I think you are the last twins on our little group!

Well I am so happy I could dance ? the pram is lush and it had all the added extras that we wouldn?t have been able to afford, and it was a total bargain and it was just down the road for pick up!! For a second hand pram it is excellent condition and I am very very very happy!! Wooh!

Iheartpasties · 03/10/2012 10:48

fatima is that cognitive behavioural treatment? if so - good luck :)

YellowWellies · 03/10/2012 10:52

Oh garden that brought a tear to this hormonal lady's eye! Many congratulations on your beautiful girls and what an epic 'carrier' you have been of them - they are such good weights. I was born (as a twin) at 36 weeks and was only 4lb and my sister 4lb 4loz. I bet they'll be home with you before you know it. I can't wait to have a sleepy little chest frog snoozing on me.

LittleLolly · 03/10/2012 10:57

fatima when I couldn't get answers from anywhere I phoned my PCT and then spoke to public health... And the very next morning I have an appointment. Don't be fobbed off. The earlier you have the jab the longer its got to get through to the baby. I will be 36+3 so if I go into labour at 37 weeks it won't have got to baby anyway, but still worth having.

ValiumQueen · 03/10/2012 11:02

fatima the optimum time to have WC vaccine is 32-34 weeks, so no urgency on that one. See if you can get the flu jag at the same time. It is not too late to have it at 37+4, but it would be better to have it sooner, before flu season hits. S

TheDetective · 03/10/2012 11:08

VQ I'm undecided on the jab, so haven't contributed! I need to look in to it, am off tomorrow so that is my plan!!

Im back in bed for an hour before work. I ended up going to Tesco for a mooch after the school run as I wasn't sleepy enough!!! I ended up buying more baby clothes. I fear I am addicted!!!! They are gorgeous though! And cheap :D DP made me cry a little because I sent him a picture of what I was buying and apologised for my addiction and he said he didn't care because he loves buying them too :D

He couldn't be any more different to my ex who used to go mad everytime I bought clothes, toys, or anything for DS :/

rowingdowntheriver · 03/10/2012 11:12

Congratulations garden! That is fantastic news and sounds like they are great weights too x

Iheartpasties · 03/10/2012 11:13

thedetective aww thats cute that your dp loves you buying cute outfits :)

TheDetective · 03/10/2012 11:24

He loves buying anything baby related tbh!! He loved the sheepskin liner I bought, even though I was Shock at the price!

He's a real softy! He can't wait for baby to come now! He's impatient where as I'm still chilled and happy for baby to stay in a few more weeks!
