I would encourage anyone who has not heard about the jags to be proactive as we do not have long before these bumps are no longer bumps.

Evilwater · 28/09/2012 21:31

Vq always useful to have an eleoquant DH. I nope you get all thi sorted out next week. Thanks

I have read to whooping cough thread which is quite interesting actually and everyone seems to be desperate to get to the front of the queue. I have also dropped a note to a couple of my American friends to see what they say.

As well as this am wondering about a colleague, that I sit next too, who has had a cough since July! It says that often adults don't get the whoop but a persistent lingering cough. So, if she has got it then I must be super dooper immune because alltough I did get a cold in the summer hols it went away. She is still coughing and has been back to the drs three times. I might mention it when it when I see her on mon.

applepieinthesky · 28/09/2012 21:33

Sorry if this is tmi but my diarrhoea is getting worse. I went to the toilet just now and it flushed out of me like water. This has been going on for more than a week now. Am I worrying about nothing or do you think I should mention it?

ValiumQueen · 28/09/2012 21:42

They call injections jags in Scotland. Honest. I am trying to sound Scottish. I go for my messages, and my DD takes a play piece to school.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 28/09/2012 21:44

What are messages? And hat an earth s a play piece?

ValiumQueen · 28/09/2012 21:44

apple it is worth getting it checked out as you are at risk of getting dehydrated, which is not good for you or baby. Hope you get lumps soon.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 28/09/2012 21:46

I think you shoul mention it apple though I do notice when preggo you are either one extreme or the other. I alternate between mild constipation and going all the time. Best to mention anything out of then ordinary I feel.

Xx

ValiumQueen · 28/09/2012 21:47

Of course, I should say 'we call injections jags' Grin

Messages is shopping, and play piece is snack for play time. A piece is a sandwich. When I first moved up here I was puzzled that my clients were forever going to the post office.

horseylady · 28/09/2012 22:13

Pass what detective said.

Vq I think an email is fine. I usually write, store, calm down and check!! Plus with an email you can save a copy!

Apple - worth getting checked. Have to say I have to total opposite problem!! I can't remember who else is suffering.

Evil I'm checking when I see mw. Will see what she says!!

kissyfur · 28/09/2012 22:19

Hope the school really do take action to protect your DD next week VQ. She sounds like a lovely lass, hope this doesn't affect her too much.

Urgh, I feel rotten tonight - feel a bit sick and have got heartburn but also still feel hungry?!? V weird! Am so bored too, DP has gone out to his mates after only getting in from work at about 7. Feel like I hardly see him these days. Sad

Catbag · 28/09/2012 22:35

Thanks for the translation VQ- I too had no idea what that meant! Just for the record, I think you've been more than reasonable up to this point, but it's definitely time to pull out the big guns. It sounds a little like the school is floundering and I don't think it would hurt to push them in the right direction, even if that means getting emotional at them. Hopefully DH will be able to help guide this too.

CandyPop · 28/09/2012 22:48

kissy heartburn is such a pain. I find swigging gaviscon really helps :)

Ok rant: why do ppl especially strangers like to comment on how big I am?! It's really peeving me off now. I've had this week 'Are u sure ur not carrying twins ? You r huge!' WELL NO IM NOT..... I got measured a week ago the exact size I'm meant to be thank u very much!' soooo annoying. Another girl from ante natal class gets the opposite and get comments on how small her bump is. Why do ppl think this is ok?! It's kinda implying that our babies are too big or not growing properly?! It's soo rude ESP when ppl don't really know how big someone should be! I am gonna flip on the next person that comments on my size!!!!! Angry

MissMummy1 · 28/09/2012 22:56

Candy 5 different people have commented on how small I am today - including the chemist who apparently didn't even realise I'm pregnant Hmm - it's driving me mad too.

Currently propped up in bed with worst heartburn ever. Even the yucky tesco tablets aren't curing it. I'm really breathless as well it's horrible. Dh's phone dropped out of signal but he's coming home early tomorrow a day early from diving as I've been sooo exhausted the past few days and ms has returned with avengence. Juniors had a quiet day too, but every time i've gone to phone mw i've been kicked so just keeping an eye on it. Uhhh wish the next 8/9 weeks would hurry up so i could stop worrying and find something elee to be paranoid about.

Sorry for the me me me post. Feeling shit.

VQ hope it's resolved asap. I'm famous for sending fiery emails in fits of rage. Not always the best tact but sometimes needs to be done.

Cacacaz · 28/09/2012 23:04

I have a new nephew, born late this afternoon Grin haven't been able to visit yet. Mum and baby doing well despite the fact sil blood pressure is still quite high. He weighed 5lb 12oz and is utterly gorgeous, he doesn't have a name yet.

Valium how terrible for your daughter, you have had some wonderful advice here from everyone. You have handled this situation very calmly indeed, huge fact that your email tonight reinforces how you feel should speak volumes to the staff. Your post about jags, messages and play piece made me lol. We do have some sayings that confuse people, my favourite has to be "up the stair".

One week left at work before maternity leave Grin and after a 13 hour day, it can't come quick enough. Today was the first day that I have really struggled Sad.

I can't remember who it was that said being a teacher has given many names negative connotations. I have this problem too, having worked with children for the last 12 years, and have ruled out many names.

MissMummy1 · 28/09/2012 23:12

Congrats on your new nephew cacacaz. Hope SIL' b.p. stabilises soon. It was me who said about name connotations. It's really making choosing one tough. Dh doesn't understand...

Cacacaz · 28/09/2012 23:46

MissMummy my dh doesn't understand either, I have vetoed so many of his suggestions because of this. Between that and many of the names I like already being used by friends, we have a very small list of possible names!

Having lots of tightenings right now, they are very uncomfortable gong to attempt to use my heat pad in the hope that it will ease the discomfort. I am tired beyond words and really want to sleep now Sad

Iheartpasties · 29/09/2012 00:15

VQ your poor little dd, they MUST be sent out of class separately, her being harassed is so upsetting. Bless her little heart. And yes ? avoid AIBU as they can kick off for no apparent reason!! Really he is one year stronger than your dd too which isn?t fair.

tits oh dear ? that made me chuckle! Moan moan, stupid dh, and then ?oh no? he was in a accident! TYPICAL!! (sods law)

cacacaz congrats to your SIL!

Just had breakfast, it's overcast today so I'm not sure what our plans are. I had a shit nights sleep - probably because it was ridiculously hot! It got boiling hot and over cast yeterday and then we had lightening, and some rain, I had hope it would all clear away for today, but not so far.

DH has monday off work this week, its a public holiday.

StuntNun · 29/09/2012 00:27

Your poor DD is having a tough time VQ it's not fair on her that the school are not taking this seriously enough. Are any other children being harassed too? I don't think you should worry about the boy's mother, it's not like you're demanding he be removed from the school, you just want your daughter to be safe. At least she seems to be taking it in her stride but the problem needs to be resolved before it goes any further as the longer it goes on, the harder it will be to sort out.

I had a scan today and baby is measuring spot on for my dates. The registrar was a bit useless, she couldn't tell me if the baby was back to back or back to my front (this was while she was scanning) and seemed to think I should have another section even though DS2 was delivered normally rather than a sunroof job. She also said I should go into hospital as soon as I went into labour and not to wait for established labour. Err can't see the midwives going for that one somehow.

Can't believe I've missed out on the whole Ikea thing. I'm looking forward to going shopping tomorrow.

FatimaLovesBread · 29/09/2012 03:40

God I'm so frustrated I could cry. I just want to snuggle up in bed and sleep.
But my back aches, my pelvis hurts, my left hip is killing and I've got killer heartburn. That's before contending with the huge bump SadSmile

So I'm now up and sat on the sofa watching tv and feeling very sorry for myself

Titsalinabumsquash · 29/09/2012 04:21

Fatima I'm on the sofa too! I was asleep until 2am when DP got into bed and woke me up, then promptly started snoring again!
I was watching this weeks Great British Bakeoff and its made me want buns. Hmm

As soon as the kids wake up I plan to go get back into bed while he sorts them out Grin

FatimaLovesBread · 29/09/2012 05:15

Oooh buns sound good Grin
I'm surprisingly awake, I've been watching reruns of how I met your mother. DH will be due to get up shortly so ill try go back to bed then and use the whole bed to get comfy

Titsalinabumsquash · 29/09/2012 05:18

I build whole bests of pillows and duvets when DP isn't in the bed, I've always done it, even as a kid. It's marvellous to be just so comfy. Smile

Titsalinabumsquash · 29/09/2012 05:18

nests .... Silly autocorrect!

rowingdowntheriver · 29/09/2012 05:57

Ooh, I'm awake too and it seems like I've got company?! Will catch up on the thread now.
