zoey That is lovely of your DH. Mine kisses my bump goodnight :)
Lexi Blood results, finally, that's good. Glad all is ok.
Our boy name was going to be Sebastian. We both had reservations about it at first but then decided it was our favourite after all. For girls I love Celeste but DH says absolutely not and the other day I came up with Estella but he doesn't like that either!
You all have good name taste btw.

zoeymlucas · 04/10/2012 14:44

I found it rather sweet and when I told him this morning he just shrugged and said so, lol!! He always kissing bump and talks to it and this morning told it that Daddy kisses him everyday and mummy never does - Might have something to do with the fact I physically cant, lol!!
Blimey have eaten so much rubbish today - I really need to stay away from the sugar otherwise I will be boucing off the walls all night or will hit a MAJOR sugar crash!

Amanda I really cant imagine seeing a scan with 2 babies that must be so amazing and surreal as I find it amazing with 1 let alone 2!

theTramp · 04/10/2012 14:48

I like most of the names you guys have quotes but most of them fail my rules so wouldn't make the list. Right now my front running girls name is Morgan (yea pirate ref)and for a boy Roman (nonnot the Chelsea bloke, ref to fact that we were away in Rome when I started to think hmmmmm).

MrM prefers Clara, Finnbar (for Fs sake!) and Inigo (which I adore but not sure it works with surname). We both like Conrad (Joseph Conrad one of my face writers, weirdly he didn't like Wilkie?!) and Calypso (another pirate ref) (Cally).

It keeps shifting about though so lots of fun to be had yet.

Zoey - your OH sounds like a fab big softie

TheAngelshavetheOod · 04/10/2012 15:12

manda we have a Matilda who was going to be Florence until David Cameron nicked it!

Em2010 · 04/10/2012 15:46

Oh I love all the name talk! I also love Matilda and Florence but dh doesn't. The only boys names we can agree on are Harry and Freddie - both extremely popular although strangely I dont know ANY little Harrys! My favourite boys name is Archie but dh says that sounds like a gangsters name??!

Agree with gummi on not having siblings names starting with the same letter!! Dh thinks I'm odd and is sulking cos I said no to Jessica, Joshua and jake on this account!

Must run as my lovely aunt has just announced she's coming found in 5 minutes and the house is a bomb site!!

Rainbowbabyhope · 04/10/2012 16:10

Ug just returned from a wasted morning at LGI in Leeds seeing yet more specialists who again have absolutely no answers for me. I thought LGI was one of the most horrible hospitals I have ever had to visit. I was supposed to a have a growth/reassurance scan but they hadn't booked me in properly so I had to beg them to squeeze me in and it lasted all of two minutes. The scanning person just did one clearly rushed and inaccurate head circumference measurement - the total opposite of reassuring and left me very stressed out and worried. When the consultant asked me whether I was thinking of giving birth there I had to make myself diplomatically respond that I hadn't decided while thinking no way I am coming here unless I absolutely had too - I am going to stay put and have my baby at home! Those of you who have been to LGI, is this just my stressed out skewed impression of this hospital or is it in fact a bit of a shambles? Would love to hear some positive experiences because I still need to keep my options open if I decide not to have a homebirth.

Love all the baby names everyone is coming up with. When we lost DD1, some people criticised us for naming her while I was still pregnant, as if having a stillborn child would somehow have been easier if she hadn't had a name. Actually it was wonderful that we got to call her by her name for all those months of pregnancy and I think the process of selecting a name as a couple is such a special experience. This DD already has her name which thankfully DH and I totally agree on. It would have been very difficult if we had a boy as we found selecting boys names so much harder. Love the name Felix though (but we called our goldfish that so not an option for us if it had been a boy!).

theTramp · 04/10/2012 16:30

Rainbow - that sounds v stressful and far from reassuring. If you can afford to have you considered a private scan? Best £150 I ever spent and eased most of my worries which NHS scan would in no way have done.

I believe that Socs has a similar aversion to spicey food as I myself do. Ate a Pret hallumi & falafel wrap for lunch, which sounded just the thing. I ate it even though the weird sweet/spices aside wasn't v nice. Now feel bleurgh. Is my child going to be as fussy an eater as me? Lord help us if the answers yes!

OP posts:
theTramp · 04/10/2012 16:31

Aside?! Sauce. Where on earth did aside come from?

OP posts:
Rainbowbabyhope · 04/10/2012 16:43

Tramp after I left the hospital I immediately booked myself in for a private scan this evening. Feel a bit guilty as it is my second private scan in as many weeks but to be honest at this point in time I just can't put a price on preserving my sanity!

HermioneBoo · 04/10/2012 17:28

Love all the names talk, I think we've decided on Ethan David or Elijah (Eli) David for a boy, David is FiL's middle name. I feel a bit bad because there's none of my late dad's name there and I was such a Daddy's girl. However his middle name (his first name I wouldn't wish on anyone!) is John and doesn't seem to go as well as David, and with Eli it sounds very religious!
For a girl we both love Amelie Jane, Amelie was decided on before BabyBoo was even thought about and Jane is my middle name and my mums name. It was a struggle to find something that goes with my surname, as FBers know I couldn't choose anything like Ella or something that could be shortened to Ella, poor thing is going to be teased enough as it is! I also like Jessica, Olivia, Caitlin and Libby. Oh and Everly, which I've only seen in the US.

tramp BabyBoo has a big aversion to garlic, I can't stand it at the moment whereas before I loved it, and I also loved falafel but that's another thing I can't eat now. I think they can taste it in the amniotic fluid now can't they? I think even I would dislike garlic flavoured amniotic fluid! Grin

Feeling very crampy today, might be because things were so busy I didn't have chance for lunch so just been snacking on plain crisps and hobnobs! Having Jacket with halloumi and a veggie Niçoise salad for tea so will improve that! Got rice pudding too after that's all I could think about after reading it on Facebook!

GummiberryJuice · 04/10/2012 17:30

Good luck tonight Rainbow think you are just right as peace of mind will be so much better for you

Em dh likes Henry I prefer Harry, I love love Archie but I already have a Mr A Gummi in the house Sad (glad I'm not the only "odd" oneWink)

theTramp · 04/10/2012 17:53

Harry is too royal for my catholic Belfast lad OH.

Rainbow - you've no reason at all to feel guilty. If Peace of mind is what you need and this helps go for it.

I've 4 weeks til next scan and have pushed every irrational EEK to one side and have a little internal positivity mantra. But if I felt even the slightest twinge or had even the teeniest spotting I'd be at the private scan place in a heartbeat.

Hermione - lord I'd be lost if Socs reacted negatively to garlic or cheese. Without these items lifes not worth living. The downsizing of veg and salad due to Socs issues is bad enough. I feel for you my dear I really do. And rice pudding is a great call. Blimey I'm tempted to cry off my evening engagement now for a can of creamy Devonshire rice pud and the sofa. (sounds like heaven)

Holly cracking posts ladies ref names, my boy favourite has been Felix for ages but think DP vetoed it on basis of cat food brand.......worse luck. Sorry wasn't having a go at IDRIS per se, just doing the free word association thing, apologies if I offended Blush

Morgan will be DC surname (to match DP) so yay for that!

David is DPs name. He has done weird ideas red names and I was PMSL at the rock guitarists; sounds like what he would do, as named DSS after racing car driver also......

rainbow have a big ((((()))))) sounds like a rough day, hope tonight goes well

Well done on twin scan antics!

And sorry to the poor poor ladies feeling so yukky, and having food probs.

My day off tomorrow but having to come in AngryAngry off to drive home now after a 11hour day in the office, 9 of them spent in the same workshop meeting...........OMG lost the will to live!!

Can't remember what else, oh yes, a good etymological book of names would be good!!! Will do some snooping about.

Enjoy eves all x

theTramp · 04/10/2012 18:20

I've got a good one I'll try to remember to post ref later

Em2010 · 04/10/2012 18:57

rainbow really sorry to hear about your bad experience at LGI today. I'm afraid I don't know much about the obstetrics there (only what I've seen on one born!) I know in the while though it has a reputation for being a very large, busy hospital. Excellent if you've had a nasty accident and need emergency treatment probably not ideal for a reassuring or relaxing experience though. I think it's lovely that you had a name for your dd from early on btw.

tramp oh my! I went through a phase of craving those pret falafel wraps! How funny! Wonder if our babies are a different gender!

On twin names - a couple we know were expecting twins and they kept joking that if they were boys they would have been Thor and Zeus (they had girls...!)

Having a bit of a stress here, trying not to but baby has been kicking so much recently and then the last couple of days- nothing. Maybe a little nudge once... But I'm getting very scared. I know at 18 weeks its normal nor to have a pattern and given that some women can't feel their babies at all at this stage I'm probably over reacting but I'm feeling really anxious Sad

Em2010 · 04/10/2012 19:08

Ok. Determined to prove me wrong the little toe rag has just started wriggling!!! His/ her brother used to do the same thing to me too!!! I will be completely grey soon....

TheAngelshavetheOod · 04/10/2012 19:09

V lively baby here today although they could have just been objecting to dd3 being on top of them all day as she's not well and wanted loads of cuddles.

Vivee74 · 04/10/2012 19:23

Hope all those still sick are feeling better soon. I had my flu shot last week and am now fighting the a flu. Boo to long day at work and accounting conference on Saturday which not helping.

Loving the chat about names. We are really stuck on boys names. Another reason we fingers crossed for a girl. Think we have a first name but middle names would be Elizabeth Matilda. Elizabeth is a family middle name and Matilda as I am Australian and its quiet Aussie. It's too common at home for us to use as a first name. Millicent is nice but already a Milly in the family. G grandmother was Elsie which I like but I've seen around a bit. I'd love to be game and call my daughter cleopatra, girl power, but don't think I'd be game. Look forward to more chat on names...

em I was feeling loads of movement untill last week, when I used the angel sounds dopler thing I got a really good heartbeat. Maybe your placenta has moved? I am quite chilled out about being pg but even I get a little worried ocasionally. Having the reassurance of hearing a heart beat does help, especially at this imbetween stage. Might be a good idea?

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 04/10/2012 20:05

Just a really quick message, rainbow do you actually live in Leeds? I only ask as my friends live near to ilkley and had both DC at Harrogate.....

Will write more when I've caught up.

Lexiindisguise · 04/10/2012 20:09

Rainbow sorry to hear about the hospital, hope you feel better after the scan tonight.
MyJob I LOVE Caitlin but DH not so keen! Also like Freya, Coralie and Charlotte.
Suffering a bit today with what I think is ligament pain - just sent DH out for takeaway as feeling sorry for myself. I know it's nothing in the general scheme of things but it's really bloody sore!

ThreeForTea · 04/10/2012 20:17

Evening, I love all your names! I think when you have settled on your own you should find some for me because i am stuck

We are ok with a girl (just an issue over the spelling) but for a boy only have a crossed out list that one of us like but that neither of us will allow the other one. We did have a boys name agreed for dd and one for the baby we mc'd but dh has now decided against those as well which is annoying!
Dd would have been Samuel or Sam and other baby would have been Lachlan, which I still really like but dh has gone off of.

My crossed out list is full of lovely names: Benjamin, Ben, Nathanial, Jack, Charley, Ethan (love it but doesn't go well with surname) Jamie are some of them.

Dh likes Adrian, Callum, Adam and a few others that I can't quite get on board with

ThreeForTea · 04/10/2012 20:22

Tramp where does MrM get Finnbar from??
