Oh and the tshirt plan is absolutely lovely!!

Iheartpasties · 19/09/2012 13:39

eurgh! I've just had a really uncomfy half an hour, feeling sick and wanting to lie down. I am off to bed, hopefully I feel better in the morning. I am entering the dreaded phase of pregnancy - when you cant get bloody comfy anywhere and when you ache and feel sick want to punch someone :)

Evilwater · 19/09/2012 13:42

i hope you feel better soon pasties

t-shirts sound fab!! night all.

horseylady · 19/09/2012 14:00

Just back from mw. All ok.

She was upset, had a tradegy this morning :( didn't ask too much but think she couldn't find a heartbeat :( must be awful :( that or someone had died in the drs surgery ? They all seemed shook up :(

Right been and got some raspberry leaf tea capsules. Health food women said start taking straight away. Health protocols say from35 weeks. She said you should take them during last 12 weeks as it's used to strengthen the pelvic wall? Now I'm confused. I was going to start next week? Wwyd?

YellowWellies · 19/09/2012 14:13

I've got my raspberry leaf tea but don't intend to take until such time as I wouldn't mind junior arriving as it is meant to strengthen the pelvic wall by causing contractions. I'm having enough of them for the mo! I'm going to start taking at 35-36 weeks I reckon. What about anyone else?

Oh horsey that must have been horrible. :(

We were at the docs too this am for DH to get a dodgy mole removed - between me, the lady doc and female nurse - he was teased rotten about men having a low pain threshold, and not to get any notions that this pain was any way comparable to childbirth. Poor soul! He got no sympathy. And it looked really sore actually when the doc was poking around with the local anaesthetic needle. Eeek

horseylady · 19/09/2012 14:29

I think I'll wait till 35 weeks too just in case!!

ShellyBobbs · 19/09/2012 14:30

I took them form early 30 odd weeks with my first, I got to 42 weeks! Things like that won't make baby come if it's not ready so I really wouldn't worry.

I can't stand Asda usually, I'm an Aldi girl [girl] But today I got a right bargain. They must have seriously over-ordered on the Pampers sensitive wipes because I picked up a pack of 6 for £2.50 (Half their baby even price), so I bought 4 packs! Then when I got to the checkout I'd got a baby sleeping bag for £12, it was £6 when it went through. Yay for Asda!

I still feel like shit and it was my first venture out of the house today since my visit to the labour ward the other day. I was knackered and couldn't make it all the way home this morning after dropping the nippers off, hence my stint in Asda (after a sit down).

I've gone off tea again! At the moment I'm surviving on tinned fruit, water and cranberry juice as my appetite has gone completely now. I had a bowl of mandarin oranges with some full fat ice-cream slapped in them at 12.30 today (first thing I could face eating), it took me over an hour to eat them. Ah well, I can hear the countdown, just wish it would bloody hurry up!

WaitingForMe · 19/09/2012 14:45

Yes we have the same name YW although mine is spelt Kathryn. I refused to be a Godmother earlier this year as I felt saying something I didn't believe made light of the service. My insane alcoholic cousin refused to take me seriously and still put me in the service! I managed to avoid the bit where you make a cross in water on the kids head but it was still awkward. I just don't get it, you wouldn't expect a Muslim to take part in a Christian service would you? Naturally I was considered to be the rude person and my beliefs dismissed. Still, it wasn't as bad as when DHs ex had the boys Christened and DH didn't participate (and of course nobody saw how reasonable he was being in consenting to the Christening!). And breathe...

I'm massively impressed with your t-shirts Stunt. Baby is DHs third son and I'd love a trio of clothing items but hadn't seen any. I should take inspiration and do it myself but I know I won't

ValiumQueen · 19/09/2012 16:25

I am the same spelling as waiting. I was one of 4 in my class at school.

Got my peppermint oil ok, in Holland and Barrett. Also bought some apricots as my digestive system is slowing down.

So tired today, and feel huge. Took DD1 to school in the car as I could not face the walk.

I am thinking what gift the baby can bring his sisters. I am thinking chocolate may be the way to go, as it is dear to both their hearts.

ValiumQueen · 19/09/2012 16:26

Elijah is too religious now, and this is coming from someone who is considering Vicar school! Grr!! Men!!!

StuntNun · 19/09/2012 16:46

Evil yep we are now at Defcon 1, no XBox until tomorrow [ultimate child punishment emoticon].

Waiting I just printed the transfers on the computer using Word then ironed them on the shirts. Easy peasy.

I'm staying in bed until DH gets home. FC he makes dinner. The cat is all curled up with me. She caught her first bird yesterday, I was a proud mummy. It was a blue tit though which seems a bit of a shame.

I have 50 days to go ULP! DH seems to think we've still got ages but he's going to Japan on business on Saturday and when he gets back there will only be 39 days to go. Looks like I might have to start getting the baby stuff down from the loft myself. I suspect he may have given all our 0-6 month baby clothes to his sister so we may not actually have anything for him to wear. Also I have no idea whether all the screws for the cot will be there or where the baby bedding is. My mum is over next week so she said she would give me a hand with it.

stunt I thought I was bad, but you make me feel so prepared, then again I only have 36 days to go. Oh shit!!! Aaaagh!

I bought a wincyette (sp?) granny nightie from M&S outlet today. It has buttons down the front, is very flared for my fat belly and arse, and is long sleeved, down to my knees, floral and has an attractive yoke! It is hideous, but ideal for feeding in the hospital while I still have the catheter in so cannot wear my pjs. I would look virginal, or at least chaste in it, if it were not for the bump! It will be good for cold night feeds too I reckon.

StuntNun · 19/09/2012 18:02

That's me VQ, just here to make everyone else look good!

DH has not come home (usually back at 4.30) so I'll have to drag my sorry arse out of bed and make dinner.

kissyfur · 19/09/2012 18:25

I'm spelt the same way as waiting and valium always have to spell my name for people! Wink so that's 4 of us on the thread with the same name!

I am a definite non believer too yw and waiting

I haven't done any preparing really yet stunt so don't feel bad. All the baby clothes are still in the loft and the only thing I've bought is a bedside cot and a few packs of nappies.

Titsalinabumsquash · 19/09/2012 18:40

Oh my god, I have spent the afternoon doing some seriously insane sorting. I have taken every dried ingredient (rice, pasta, flour, sugar etc) out the over flowing store cupboard and it's now in air tight, labeled Tupperware neatly stacked back in the cupboard.
The freezer is the same and I have listed everything we have in there.
Baking/cleaning cupboard is the same.
My kitchen is so anally organised DP is scared. Grin
I've had a day of people asking how long I have left, I must look like a near to popping woman these days.

DesperateHousewife21 · 19/09/2012 19:33

Why can't you wear pjs with a catheter? I wore jogging bottoms with a catheter after ds, I hated having it in, carrying around a bag of piss which the mws clearly hated emptying.

blonderthanred · 19/09/2012 19:55

We tried to explain to our niece (16 mths) that there was a baby in my tummy.

At the end of the time we spent with her we asked what was inside and she said, "bebe... woof woof!" so I think she thinks we're having a puppy.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 19/09/2012 20:01

Assuming you can walk with the catheter, and you have you joggers on do you put the tube out of the top then? Was it uncomfy or was it ok?

I have treated myself to a mamas and papas nightie incase of this event. I ended up with one last time but couldn't walk anyway so a nightie was easier until it came out.

Lots and lots of intense Brixton hicks today. Can ply be good, getting everything ready to go.

ValiumQueen · 19/09/2012 20:06

DH21 no reason why not, except that with a catheter, a maternity pad and a dressing on my wound and a spinal wearing off and granny pants, I think there is a good chance I could get something caught! The day after, as soon as catheter is out and I am showered, I can cope with the pjs. You must remember I am very old and very fat too!

ValiumQueen · 19/09/2012 20:10

Catheter would go down one leg as otherwise risk of backflow.

I am all for easy! Hoping for a single room too. Have not even seen the new hospital. Have you been for a look yet pass ?

ValiumQueen · 19/09/2012 20:11

Seen the hospital obviously. Drive past it most days, just not the Post Natal Ward.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 19/09/2012 20:43

I have just read that you shouldn't take raspberry leaf tea if you have had a caesarean? Does anyone have any wisdom on that?

daisychain76 · 19/09/2012 20:46

Ignorant question, but do you just have a catheter with a c section or is it with any epidural? Consultant hasn?t told me iff l?m gping to be induced or have c section, but neither is sounding great to me at the moment

Evilwater · 19/09/2012 20:49

TMI
I'd like to have a poo now! Sad taps foot. I'll have to get more lactose from the drs. (groan)
