Hooya · 21/09/2012 14:46

Hello everyone!

Scan confirmed I'm still pregnant! About 5 weeks, too soon for heartbeat but sac looks good and my risk of MC is now the same as anyone else so I think I can move over to this thread properly Grin

something that sounds awful, really hope they are getting you sorted.

Wing glad your head is better, I think I might try to work from home a bit in the next few weeks.

I am so jealous of you all talking about shopping for maternity clothes! I live in an Asian country where even at my normal size-12 non-pregnant weight I am larger than the local women when they are 8 months gone Blush I think some internet ordering may be the plan, though I do fancy an announcement trip back to the UK Grin

So nice to be here at last though I have been lurking for days

Rang about my eye appointment today and they didnt know anything about it :(!

Hooya · 22/09/2012 06:33

Thanks all for the welcome! Grin

something that's terrible, can you go to A&E and demand to be seen?

I am both delighted and Envy to read about your scans and heartbeats - right now it feels like there are so many milestones to clear before I can be really happy and tell people! Can't believe I have to wait another 7 weeks til reaching the 12-week mark - any tips for the waiting game?

I am so tired today, slept 10 hours with an hour awake in the middle of the night to eat and feel wibbly every time I stand up! Glad it's Saturday Smile

FrustratedSycamorePants · 22/09/2012 07:50

Hello can I come in?

somethingwittynot · 22/09/2012 13:28

You can borrow my DS if you want hooya? Makes the waiting time go very quickly!

Hooya · 22/09/2012 13:51

Frustrated yay and welcome! Isn't it all so exciting terrifying

something ha ha probably not yet, I have no clue how to be a parent, hoping to figure some of that out over the next 8 months Grin

FrustratedSycamorePants · 22/09/2012 14:09

I'm still trying to figure it out hooya Smile

And yes very slightly terrified and excited. Currently more terrified.

tiredteddy · 22/09/2012 17:01

Oh hello frustratedsycamore welcome!

Well I buckled today though I've been trying to resist and bought a small, fluffy, purple snowsuit for my little winter baby! Too cute!

FrustratedSycamorePants · 22/09/2012 18:10

Aw, tiredteddy they look so cute and snuggly in fluffy snow suits.

tiredteddy · 22/09/2012 18:23

Have you found the stats thread yet frustratedsycamore and hooya ? Tell me about yourselves as I think I'm the furthest along here I don't know you from the JS thread! Do you have DC yet? Etc..

FrustratedSycamorePants · 22/09/2012 19:12

Hi tiredteddy not found the stats yet. Will hunt it out tomorrow.
I have 2dc already. Been TTC for 5cycles. Which was really quick. --dcs were 14 and 7 months ttc)
Only a true just-shagger for 3/5 cycles. cycle 5 was pure and simple just shagging. Grin so it clearly works.
I think I'm the least furthest along as only 4 weeks from last ertd tomorrow.

tiredteddy · 22/09/2012 19:29

Ah nice to know a bit about you frustrated I also have 2dc both boys. Age 8 and nearly 5 at 20 week scan they said this is a girl I'm expecting but I think only believe it when she's born! I'm keepi g all the boy things just in case Grin

ICompletelyKnowAboutGuineaPigs · 22/09/2012 20:42

Welcome Frustrated (brain is adled so not sure whether I've said hello yet!). Nice to see another 3rd timer! I too have 2 DCs (v.nearly 6 and 2). I have one of each so this one will match one of them which is a good job cause they'll have to share

Hooya I agree that the waiting is rubbish, especially because I am awful at not telling people (hence why loads of people know!). I did find the first few weeks were the worst but the last couple haven't been so bad. Unfortunately I went from being 8+ weeks to 6 in the space of a minute (early scan) and so the waiting has seemed interminable!

Just watching One Born Every Minute special - oh I do love babies!

Ps Tired the small fluffy purple snowsuit sounds lovely, I love purple - its my favourite colour to put DD in.

FrustratedSycamorePants · 22/09/2012 21:05

Hi iknow good to know bub will match one of them. Grin. I have 2 girls. 7 and 4. So this may or may not match. But have a 50/50 chance. Wink

I don't like that wait in the middle where you don't see anyone. I'm not holding much to dates as been dd1 was late and dd2 was early (and carried too much water so always measured wrong) So if i aim for a 4 week period either side of what I think dates are, and if the scan dates bub in there, I'll be happy.

ICompletelyKnowAboutGuineaPigs · 22/09/2012 21:36

Me too Frustrated, I was always mistaken as the 'triplets lady' at the hospital I was so big (58cm by wk 39 when she was born)!. Plus she was always big for dates so I was convinced the dates were wrong, but when she was born she was covered in vernix so I guess she was just chunky!

I just figured this baby will come sometime next year!

Hooya · 23/09/2012 01:42

Hi everyone!

tired snowsuit sounds lovely! How exciting starting to buy baby things!

This as you will tell from my general terrifiedness will be my first DC. Have been with DP for an eternity (we are both 33), never ever wanted kids then changed our minds very suddenly 2 months ago. Got upduffed second cycle! I feel like a bit of a fraud given how many people out there are struggling to conceive, but I guess you just can't think like that.

Desperate to get to 12 weeks or even just hear the heartbeat, as I'm currently at the stage of randomly worrying "I can't feel any symptoms, it must have stopped growing" Sad . Assuming all goes well, we get the fun of telling our parents who have absolutely no idea we even want a baby and will be delighted and shocked in equal measure. We live in Asia (not saying where until people know, just in case) which means not so much support network family-wise but on the plus side brilliant private healthcare courtesy of my employer Smile

Sorry for superlong post but thought I should intro myself properly!

FrustratedSycamorePants · 23/09/2012 10:22

This is it hooya Grin good work on 2nd cycle, I'm impressed, dd1 was over a year trying, you're not a fraud, you're a true just shagger Wink I thought you were an old hand
We weren't going to have another, then changed our minds, and wham, this is really happening. Grin

somethingwittynot · 23/09/2012 19:17

We're on the snowsuit wagon to! Dc2 due feb. sold my shite berry so were having a yummy Indian tonight on this horrible evening! Getting myself a shiny new galaxy note tomorrow in stupidly excited! And starting my DS Christmas pressie shopping! Way to excited for his First christma s

tiredteddy · 23/09/2012 19:57

Ha ha something like the snowsuit wagon! I must start Xmas shopping soon need to be organised before I'm the size of a small whale. New phone sounds fab! Grin

Hooya · 23/09/2012 23:46

Frustrated yup, it really is I can tell from the huge load of wind trapped in my stomach

something I am thinking of getting the Galaxy, is it good? Easy to use (I am terrible with technology)?

somethingwittynot · 24/09/2012 08:08

I'm going to pick it up in a bit so will be back with a review!

WingDefence · 24/09/2012 09:32

Ooh lots of fred activity in here. Hi Frustrated!

Hooya I was just like you - willing the days to go faster and here I am having my nuchal scan today at 12:30! I'm intrigued as to your life in Asia :)

I have decided that even if it is that grumpy sour-puss sonographer I had ten days ago, I am going to put my foot down and ask to see lots of the baby on the screen. I'm sorry, but their job isn't just to take measurements etc - they can't ignore that part of having a scan is for the mum/parents to start to bond with their little bump.

I was telling myself last night that I am a professional who can gets results out of people in the workplace so no way am I going to become a quiet, mouse-like 'customer' of the sonographer who doesn't have a say in what happens. I'm not leaving there until I've had a good nose and some good pics too (or one, if they are going to charge £4 for each Hmm ).

That's if it all goes well of course...

I haven't tried to think about Christmas yet. DS's birthday is the 30th Dec so it all becomes a bit of a blur really and we're hoping to be down south for it this year but I've got a bit more planning to do before that is all sorted out.

Right, TONS of work to do (I was working yesterday boo) so must get on.
Will update post-scan... Brew
