Hi wing good luck for your scan tomorrow. I've been a bit under the weather, I'm blaming the jabs one arm is still aching. Heartburn and feeling sick too. So yesterday a slept and today I went to spend the day with my mum. She's on the mend now. Her wounds are taking a while to heal but they say that is related to her age. Are you going to find out the sex then if you can? Exciting Smile

tiredteddy · 15/11/2012 21:23

Oh and hello dysgu nice to see you and glad you are ok.

Hi everyone else, I'll be back to proper posting again soon x

Pineapple80 · 15/11/2012 21:46

Good luck for tomorrow wing Smile

Get well soon tired. Rest up plenty!

cola - I can join you in feeling sick too Sad, very blah this week with not much energy. Bring on the weekend Grin

ICompletelyKnowAboutGuineaPigs · 16/11/2012 10:23

I was so ill last night...being violently sick all night. Feel marginally better now but still can't keep anything down, not even water Sad Waiting for Dr to call me.

Wing can't wait for an update! Hope everything's ok

tiredteddy · 16/11/2012 10:31

Oh no poor you guinea hope it's just a 24 hr thing.

CuriosityCola · 16/11/2012 10:41

Guinea, hope you feel better soon. Water can actually feel quite heavy on your tummy. Might be worth trying sucking on some crushed ice cubes.

Feeling less sick today. Ds and I have woken up full of the cold though. On the up side it has made me realise that putting Vick under my nose is good for changing stinky nappies.

I need to go to the shops to get lunch, but can't be bothered. Why isn't there a take-away aimed at babies.

tiredteddy · 16/11/2012 11:33

I think you have just found your million pound idea curiosity baby take away! Hope you aren't too ill either.

WingDefence · 16/11/2012 11:46

Yuck Guinea that sounds awful :( Try diluted juice if water is too difficult to drink or flat cola (no, not you Curiosity!). :(

So...... The scan went really well! Nothing untoward which is fantastic news and I can really start to get excited now! Grin

MiniWing was kicking away during the scan, putting hands over face etc and generally being a bit of a monkey but the scanner got everything which is good.

Then she started showing us all the bits of the body which never ceases to be amazing. Stomach, diaphragm, heart, limbs, full-frontal face shot etc and then... Well she wasn't very committal at all which made me a bit Hmm but I finally got her to confirm ("we're only 90-95% certain though") that's we're having a GIRL!!! Grin Grin Grin

Exactly what I thought from the moment I got my BFP weirdly enough!!! I can honestly say that I would have been completely happy either way but DH and I have just been beaming since we got out :)

We have the name pretty much decided as well but I'm not telling you lot! Grin

We met my parent in a coffee shop afterwards to tell them and my dad asked to know before he'd even taken his coat off which is hilarious because when we told them with DS that we were going to find out in advance they were horrified but we have completely converted them to the fun of finding out in advance! Mum said she'd been praying for a girl so I told her off because we would've been happy with another little boy.

But woo! A girl! With girly bits and everything Shock Grin

Can I just say I still can't quite believe I'm at this stage chatting to you lovely ladies when it only seems like yesterday that we were all on the JSing boards, nervous every month in the 2ww etc. Thanks

ICompletelyKnowAboutGuineaPigs · 16/11/2012 11:57

Wing that's fantastic news. A girl...how exciting!

Glad everything looks good, such a relief and the 20 week scan is such a milestone - you're half way through now! It does seem like not that long that we were reporting the frequency and quality of the JSing not that there's any danger of that in this house at the moment

I remember finding out and feeling like it would be ages til I got to this stage, and the early days did drag until that first scan. Now I'm just counting down the days until my 20 week scan (3 weeks to go, woo hoo!)

I've just attempted some mini cheddars and some weak orange squash but feel a bit delicate now. Quite fancy some flat coke but don't have any in and am still in dressing gown on sofa. Me and DH were meant to bf going away for 2 night tonight - not sure what to do now.

tiredteddy · 16/11/2012 12:05

Congratulations wing how exciting!!! Glad everything is looking healthy too. A girl what fun.

curiosity maybe do the starvation think and eat nothing only drink water to see it off and you might feel better by tonight?

WingDefence · 16/11/2012 12:07

What rubbish timing :( Were you going far? Can you jut got away for one night (ie tomorrow) instead?

Pineapple80 · 16/11/2012 12:10

Hope you feel better soon guinea.

What lovely news wing, it must be a relief and a little girl!!!! So exciting Smile

Have been trying to get my first scan booked and the hospital is being so difficult and was just told no, it's pretty much because I am leaving the UK soon and I will not be 12 weeks by then and they will not scan earlier than that. I'm really disappointed as I feel I am entitled to the care and feel like I've been written off since I told them I wasn't going to be staying here for long. Not to worry i guess, Private Scan is locked in now, found a good place on Harley St. I will have to be patient and wait till then I guess! A little anxious to know things are ok in there.

Have a good Friday ladies

MrsBri · 16/11/2012 12:19

Congratulations Wing! How lovely and exciting and fantastic all in one :-)

Sorry to everyone feeling sick today. Hope you all feel better soon.

I can relate though...went sleep very early again last night - in bed, for once, not on the sofa! - and woke up just before 11 feeling sick. After about 5 mins threw my dinner up, which was awful.

Still a bit ropey today, but I'd rather have (not anywhere near) morning sickness than not. My sister thinks I'm hilarious for embracing puking.

Boo for pineapple. Bloody NHS bastards. Hurrah for private scanning. :-)

tiredteddy · 16/11/2012 12:19

pineapple that must be very frustrating for you. Especially as sometimes people get scans as early as 10 weeks for dating. Put it out of your mind and don't get stressed. Enjoy the private one. It will probably more detailed than an NHS one so you will have more time and pictures too? I'm guessing. It working on the principal that since you are paying they won't rush you. How's the packing going?

CuriosityCola · 16/11/2012 12:35

Yay to a little girl wing. It's all getting very real and exciting now. Grin

pineapple I have had a previous scan on Harley street. They were amazing. There is also a great place in Wimbledon if that's nearer to you? At the Wimbledon private scan I got about 6 or 7 pictures and a chance to look at the baby for ages. You won't be missing anything with the nhs one, but Angry on your behalf that you have to pay for good service.

tired I can just see Jamie Oliver protesting outside my baby take-away now Grin

I don't think I can go without food. I am one of those annoying people that needs to eat every 3 2 hours or I feel faint. Blush

WingDefence · 16/11/2012 16:45

Thank you all Thanks Grin

Please don't pass your various sicknesses onto me though - we have a busy weekend of playmates and parties planned! (And of course I hope you all feel much better very soon.)

Pineapple that's so frustrating. Sorry that as you leave our otherwise not so perfect country, it lets you down.

Do enjoy your private scan. I bet they will treat you like royalty!

ICompletelyKnowAboutGuineaPigs · 17/11/2012 09:10

Well after packing the DCs off to my mums yesterday afternoon I sat on the sofa and watched Strictly on catch up, then after a shower and getting dressed I did feel more human. We decided to head off for our weekend away, mainly because its only the next county we've come to. The guest host is nice and they have super duper Egyptian cotton bedding! Just going to get up.and have breakfast prepared for me!

Pineapple I am really shocked that you've had such poor service, especially because my first scan was actually scheduled for just before 11 weeks (it was changed, but still). If its any consolation it was incredibly short - I was in and out really quickly and did get to see baby on screen but only momentarily. I bet the private scan will be much much better.

Sounds like you have a fun weekend planned Wing - anybody else up to anything nice?

tiredteddy · 17/11/2012 11:46

Enjoy your weekend pineapple and everyone else too!

My best friend is coming down with her daughter to visit. We are planning on going to Walton-on-Thames for the Christmas festival of light this afternoon, there will be stalls, rides and a lantern procession. Here comes the festive spirit!

Pineapple80 · 17/11/2012 16:37

Ahh thanks ladies. I'm not too worried about the scan not being possible. Looking forward to the private scan anyway! curiosity - I'm not near Wimbledon but Harley St is only a few stops away on the tube for us. On the upside my scan & NT screening in Oz is booked & I've also booked in with my old Aussie GP to have shared care with her and the hospital she is affiliated with. Things will work out fine, I'm sure.

Packing is going well tired! DH has been super as he has finished up with work so has most of it done except all my clothes which I need to sort out. About 15 boxes packed now sitting around the flat!

Enough about me! How are you all feeling? Hope those that were poorly are feeling better this weekend.

What has everyone been up to and have planned for tomorrow? Hope you're all well Smile

CuriosityCola · 17/11/2012 18:10

Just realised my post made the Wimbledon one sound better, but they were both very caring and professional. Will be very exciting for you Smile

WingDefence · 17/11/2012 18:13

So glad you got away Guinea!

Had a lovely playdate/lunch today and came back for a rushed tea before I head out as the ladies from my church are singing at another church 45 mins away tonight. I've been losing my voice for a few days so I hope it holds up!

Well done on getting the packing well under way Pineapple Grin That event sounds lovely Tired :)

Right, better rush out!

ICompletelyKnowAboutGuineaPigs · 18/11/2012 11:46

Just picking DCs up from my mums but DD has given me a cursory cuddle and is currently attached to DH, she's such a daddy's girl.

Hope the singing went well Wing and your voice held out.

The weekend away was nice though somewhat marred by all my vomiting. I don't feel ill like i did on Thursday/Friday but I don't seem to be able to keep anything down (except apple juice Confused ) - sometimes its within 10 minutes and sometimes 2 hrs later. Have no idea what's going on with my digestive system but its not enjoyable!

Doesn't feel like a Sunday today as I'm not at Church this morning. Nothing planned for the rest of the day, so probably going to make the most of the bright weather and go for a wander in the park.

tiredteddy · 18/11/2012 21:27

We've had a great weekend. The light festival in Walton is going to be a new teddy family tradition it was really lovely. Am shattered now though. Just having a nice cup of hot chocolate and some toast and marmite before bed. Hope you are feeling better guinea

Pineapple80 · 18/11/2012 22:24

Get wel lsoon guinea.

tired that sounds lovely! I love Christmas festivals and markets. Will really miss the wintry Christmases in England!

We visited our friends today who have a new little DD! She is SO cute & I got to hold her all afternoon & she didn't cry like babies usually do with me! Cluckity-cluck Grin

Can't believe the weekend is over again! Goodnight all Smile

Pineapple80 · 19/11/2012 12:20

Everyone must be having a busy Monday! Last few days of work for me! I'm trying to work out or I'll cover up my non-drinking at my work farewell drinks in a couple of nights time Confused! Stomach bug?!

Hope you're all doing well. Have a good week ahead! Smile
