Good luck tomorrow x

tiredteddy · 07/11/2012 13:39

Glad that you have an appointment livi and I have everything crossed for you x

tiredteddy · 07/11/2012 18:58

And for everyone's amusement, I forgot to go for my whopping cough/ flu jabs yesterday so had to re-book them! Blush I'm blaming the pregnancy brain I'm loosing brain cells by the bucketload!

WingDefence · 07/11/2012 19:59

Oh no tired! I'm not laughing at all!!
What a pain in the... Arm Grin

How is everyone? Nice to see you back on here Practising and Guinea, what were you thinking?!

Well I have a 'fun' couple of days lined up. Tomorrow DH is kindly driving me 45mins to not-my-normal-station, then three trains and a 4hr journey to give a presentation in Huntingdon, then train back to Peterborough and staying at a lovely colleague's house, then up early to get the train back into London on Friday morning and a day-long meeting at a Government dept (ooh get me Grin) before heading home and getting back at 9ish on Friday night.

I am praying that I don't have any travel problems this time round...

At least it is now going to be obvious to people that I'm expecting. In fact, I'm digging out my proper maternity work tops to show it off :)

Anyone else got any likewise 'fun' plans?

ICompletelyKnowAboutGuineaPigs · 07/11/2012 20:16

Nothing quite so hectic Wing - sounds full-on. I really hope it all goes smoothly.

I am teaching tomorrow and my PhD supervisor rang me today to ask me to give one of her lectures for her tomorrow as she's ill. 3 hours of non-stop talking, the students will love me!

Got a midwife appt on Friday and going to discuss the vbac further. I'm really.keen on a vbac but put off by continual fetal monitoring so I'll see what the community midwife thinks. I wouldn't mind a home birth, though I know that it wouldn't be advised at all. I was talking to my mum the other day who pretty much implied that I am incapable of birthing children effectively and this is the reason I shouldnt even think about it. Strangely this makes ne want one more! Grin

ICompletelyKnowAboutGuineaPigs · 07/11/2012 20:18

P.s. really glad you've got an appointment livis and I really hope all is well.

Practisingparent · 07/11/2012 21:25

livi really hope everything is alright, is it still just on wiping, or heavier? let us know how it goes.

tired low platelets means I may have complications bleeding after the birth, so they will be keeping an eye on me and my bloods, so appointments and tests every month from now on. It sucks cos they seem incredibly slow at the hospital, having to wait at length for each appointment, not to mention waiting for bloods after each visit. (its a 3 hr wait each time in phlebotomy!) Any way got to hear the heart beat again, defo a boy i think.

wing you seem to do a very busy 'highflying' role at the mo (loads of travelling about the country), is that going to continue when u return to work? I speak in awe from a part time perspective!

Practisingparent · 07/11/2012 21:33

Guinea Mums are the best! my mum always manages to dash my hopes disguised as encouragement, i don't know how they do it. Im interested to know why a vbac is so important to you?

WingDefence · 08/11/2012 08:17

Morning all :)

First nosebleed of the pregnancy! Woo hoo!! Hmm

Pineapple80 · 08/11/2012 10:53

Good luck today livismum.

wing - I don't know how you do it! What a week you have! Hope all runs smoothly Smile.

tired - boo to the nose bleed! Being a novice at all this, why does it happen?

I'm feeling ok lately, still queasy all the time but mostly in the morning. Eating smaller portions which is keeping me from being bloated which I'm glad about! No more fainting or dizziness, been taking a seat on trains this week just in case. One week till my first midwife appointment!

Pineapple80 · 08/11/2012 10:54

Oops not tired but meant wing regarding nose bleed!

StuckInTheFensAwayFromHome · 08/11/2012 11:08

What a lot of news...
Lots of good luck and fingers crossed for livismum and something

Hope everyone is doing ok with their pregnancies... I'm quite excited as had a midwife appointment today and my scan date has come through - it will be in 2 1/2 weeks as that is 12 weeks on basis of my last period, even though my first scan would suggest that will be 10 weeks. DP is under instruction now to make sure he gets the time off work Grin

After my quiet happiness at having no symptoms I now seem to have them! After a lifetime of solid sleep I am waking up at least once a night to go to the loo, the wind I seem to be creating could be used as a weapon of mass destruction, I spend every night after work asleep or dozing on the sofa and I feel sick sometimes but when I go to the loo all I do is retch and gag but nothing comes up. How lovely and glamourous does all that sound!!!

But I'm keeping in mind a lovely friends words of comfort - that this all means things are hopefully progressing normally and that makes me smile!

Hope the nosebleed has stopped wing...

tiredteddy · 08/11/2012 11:28

Thinking of you livi

livismum · 08/11/2012 14:14

Thanks for all of the thoughts and good wishes, not good news from the EPU Sad I was prepared as bleeding had gotten worse, the nurses were lovely and as I've still got some "losing" to come said not hesitate in getting referred back if I'm worried at all.

I will try and be back ASAP (before u lot all disappear off with babies!) DH won't know whats hit him! Best of luck ladies, I'll be lurking! Smile

ChildOfThe1980s · 08/11/2012 15:14

WingDefence · 09/11/2012 17:08

Hi all :)

Well my two manic days are nearly over. I was going to say something like "I am definitely not going to work on the train home tonight but the last time I said that, the trains were all up the creek etc etc so I don't want to jinx things!

Hope you're all okay? I haven't felt MiniWing move as much these past few days but I'm thinking that it could be for various reasons (it's only small so could have moved, I've been wearing more over-the-bump trousers whereas I felt it more when I wear my old trackies which pull in at the bottom of the bump and I've been out and about and not just sitting at my desk) so I'm trying not to think about it.

I did think MiniWing might have moved around a bit at the Jack White gig on Tuesday evening as it was so loud but it didn't...

Anyway, scan next Friday morning so going to try not to think about it much before then. Can't wait!

What are your plans for the weekend?

Pineapple80 · 09/11/2012 19:31

Glad your hectic days are almost over wing! And maye miniWing is just in a comfy position and its too good to wriggle out of it Wink. And like you said only a week until your scan too, I'm sure all is good.

mrsbri - I hope your scan goes well, I think you mentioned it was this weekend?

We are starting our packing this weekend for the big move back home to Oz, not very excited about it but must be done! Hope to have a lie in but been having broken sleep lately, too many toilet trips in the wee hours (excuse the pun!).
