Im 22 weeks today!! Had hardly any symptoms through out but have just spent 10 mins watching bean move

MrsBri · 23/10/2012 18:43

Wow...that's impressive. Would you prefer to have had them before now?

Now you've seen the scan, are you happy to not have them?! :-)

WingDefence · 23/10/2012 18:55

MrsBri some women would love not to have any symptoms at all - and you have got some! I didn't have any sickness with DS and only morning nausea this time round before I ate breakfast. I actually couldn't have coped with more than that.

Your symptoms are otherwise just what I have had - really painful boobs!

That's a real bum about work. Looks like you will have to tell your boss then but ask them to keep it silent :(

ICompletelyKnowAboutGuineaPigs · 23/10/2012 19:01

Hello all. Big welcome and congrats Swimming. I'm impressed at your resolve at waiting until your scan to join us. Glad evrything looks ok.

I had my scan today and they dated me at 13+3 so a week after I thought! My new due date is 27/04/2012. Baby was very active and wriggly, it was all very exciting!

DS was off school today - we went to the Drs this morning and he has tonsillitis. He will probably go tomorrow if he's ok, but he's enjoyed perhaps a little too much having a day on the sofa with his duvet.

tiredteddy · 23/10/2012 19:04

Ooh guinea 13+3 already! The scan sounds great what a clever wriggly bean you have. Sorry your DS is poorly hope some Medicine sorts him out quickly!

MrsBri · 23/10/2012 19:13

Poor DS, hope he feels better soon. I'm sure a little spoiling will have the desired effect! :-)

And 13+3 is fantastic. As is the wriggling around. Active bean!

And I know, Wing, it's a total bugger. But I'm kind of cornered now. My boss is a nightmare for keeping secrets too, so god knows how she'll keep it to herself. She'll just have to, else I may go all hormonal on her!

Dysgu · 23/10/2012 21:20

I saw my consultant today and she agreed I can stay with the MW. No need to spend hours waiting around in the hospital. She did sign me up to have steroid injections at 26 weeks to make sure the lungs develop in preparation for this one coming early too but we are planning on going all the way!

I have so many appointments already I am nearly halfway down the page inside my notes already - scans, swabs, injections, glucose test, appointments for preemie research stuff - and that is before I call to make a MW appointment for 16 weeks.

Did get a bonus listen to the heartbeat today though as the hospital MW was lovely and said 'as you are hear, shall we have a listen?' even though my scan was only last week. The heartbeat is a gallop, which 'might' mean it is a girl Hmm

DDs are very much into the idea of a baby growing in my tummy - they like to stroke it already as that is what they see DP do! They know it will take a long time to come out...

MrsBri I told my boss very early on due to having extra appointments and other stuff but I reminded her that it was confidential and that I wouldn't be telling other people until after my 12 week scan. She therefore couldn't say anything but did have to make it easy for me to have time off (even though she might not like it especially when my appointments mess up Literacy and Numeracy lessons!)

And I have now gone 2 whole days without being sick. I have lost just over a stone since my +ve test although am feeling like I look like I ate all the pies! Still this is DC3 so it is going to show sooner.

somethingwittynot · 24/10/2012 08:32

My DS sounded like a horse this one sounds like a train

WingDefence · 24/10/2012 10:40

Morning all!

Talking of heartbeats, I've just got back from my 16 week check-up and I heard the heartbeat for the first time. Much slower than I expected - could it be another boy?! Grin

I'vejust heard some good news too - a friend of mine, who had a MC in her last pregnancy last year, is 13.4 weeks pregnant :) I'm so happy for her.

But not so good news about the neighbour whose name I saw at the Sure Start centre way back at my booking-in appt. I told her a week or so ago and she didn't react and I was nattering with a joint friend at a 5th birthday party on Saturday and she said that the mutual friend had been trying for about 5 years but had had three miscarriages. It came about because she was asking me how I was getting on etc and I didn't ask, she just volunteered the info.

I felt very :( because that must have happened this time round as well. She's such a lovely lady but is 40 now with a DD7 and she may be thinking it's not going to happened for her again. So sad.

Anyway, I'd better get on with work because I am two days behind in sending some papers out and I am going to be roasted when my boss finds out Blush Have a good day, y'all!

WingDefence · 24/10/2012 10:41

Ooh that should have been [hgrin] [hsad] and [hblush]

tiredteddy · 24/10/2012 11:54

Hi everyone. Just been to 28 week check had bloods done. Heard heartbeat and a big swoosh when baby moved! Measuring 28 so spot on for now. Baby is transverse at the moment but plenty of time to move.

wing glad you heard the heartbeat it's just lovely isn't it! Happy and sad news about your friend and neighbour.

MrsBri · 24/10/2012 17:42

Dysgu - told my manager today and told her it is totally confidential. I'm due to sign a training contract soon and have specifically said that until it is signed work isn't to know.

She has said she will cover me for going early by saying I have to go to see a Barrister in Chambers, which is good.

It helps that she's also trying for a baby, so understands where I'm coming from.

Very exciting hearing about listening to the babies :-) How wonderful for you all.

WingDefence · 24/10/2012 18:11

Oh that's great about your boss MrsBri. Did she tell you today that she was trying too? [hsmile]

MrsBri · 24/10/2012 18:28

I knew she wanted to try, but she confirmed they'd now started. I passed on my wisdom about Conceive Plus too :-)

Just got to hope nobody works it out now!

WingDefence · 25/10/2012 09:52

Morning ex-shaggers [hsmile]

I was working till 00:20 this morning [hshock]

I MUST get my papers out today - they are for a big meeting on Monday so I'm a few days late now [hblush]

Hope you've all got fab days planned.

AWomanCalledHorse · 25/10/2012 10:09

Morning all!

Great news MrsBri!

[henvy] Wing, wish I had the energy to be up at midnight! I was in bed by 2130, and even that felt too late (or it could be that 0500 is too early to get up, she says glaring at DS who is now napping).
Wonderful news about your friend!
So sorry for your neighbour, having one DC & another on the way I can't imagine anything worse than having that urge for a child & not being able to fulfill it.

Dysgu, are you likely to be on bedrest at anypoint?
Well done for not being sick!

tired, hope baby moves in time! Will you be lying upside down on the sofa for a few days?

Have my pre-booking appointment today (it feels weird that so many of you are so far along but I remember when you got your bfp's).
Feel guilty for DS, as I've been too knackered to take him out so far this week, DH is taking him out everyday when he gets in, but I should be doing it.

livismum · 25/10/2012 13:37

Hey ladies, just dipping my toe in the water over here (got BFP yesterday!) kind of don't know where I belong at the mo!
Hey tired something and co who were over here in the summer when I had the mmc, turned out not to be molar yay! But have been taking it fairly on the JSing front so I'm a bit surprised to be here! Also v nervous, already worrying with every twinge and frequent knicker checking, could need a good few "hooyas" to get me through the wait to a scan (keeping everything crossed, legs included Wink)
I am also yet to tell DH Blush he knows we weren't not trying but think its going to take him even more by surprise than me! I've got another test, and as he was laughing at me struggling in to my (newly tummbled dry!) jeans today I may do it in the morning and show him then, he works nights and enters hectic house helps with girls then goes to bed, then I worked yesterday when he got up! So feel bad him not knowing but we go away for wkend tomorrow so should actually see him for once!
So anyway hope I'll be sticking around this time Grin

WingDefence · 25/10/2012 14:54

Ooh welcome Livismum!! I looked up molar pregnancies after you left us and do sound scary so thank God it wasn't one in the end!

How exciting that we know before your DH [hgrin]

If you don't want to post much but just lurk until you have a scan, we'll understand of course. Will you be eligible for an early scan because of what happened last time?

In other good news, my papers have been sent out! I may even treat myself to a half hour lie down!

WingDefence · 25/10/2012 14:55

Oh and Woman I don't really have The energy to work that late. Banana and grapes at 10:45 did help though. I just had to get it done...

AWomanCalledHorse · 25/10/2012 15:28

Livis, oooh hope DH finds out soon, you could always wait a long, long time & then get offended when he asks why you've gotten so fat [hgrin]
Fingers are very crossed for you & your sticky bean. x

Wing, well done on the work!!

I've just started bleeding so think I'll be off here shortly, any idea if I'd get a scan if I let my midwife know? If not I'll book a private one in a week.
Will still lurk here (and fb) until I know either way.

MrsBri · 25/10/2012 16:02

Oh no, Woman. Call your local early pregnancy unit. The one near me takes self referrals.

Fx for you. xx

WingDefence · 25/10/2012 16:16

Oh nooooooo Woman. Don't forget, it might not be a bad sign. Lots of women experience bleeding in early pregnancy and everything's fine.

When I had spotting with DS they sent me off for a scan the next morning. Definiteky call the MW xx

tiredteddy · 25/10/2012 16:20

Hi LIVISMUM so pleased to see you again!

woman hope you are ok? did you speak to midwife/ GP/ epu? Fingers crossed for you x

AWomanCalledHorse · 25/10/2012 16:28

Called MW's, nice lady said to wear a pad, relax tonight, get pampered by partner & update them in the morning.
By pampered...they mean send DH out for McDonalds [hgrin]

I'll phone them tomorrow, and hope that it all stops, hoping for an early free scan now [hgrin]

tiredteddy · 25/10/2012 16:33

Oh good woman pampering and mcdonalds sounds like just what you need. I bled a lot in both my previous pregnancies. It can happen for so many reasons. Or for no reason at all. Rest try and relax and hopefully all will be ok x
