We went to the Blue Lagoon but didn't swim as I was a bit concerned about the high water temperature. It is stunning there though.

We did the Golden Circle tour on Friday and the South Shore tour yesterday. Lazy day today as we come home tomorrow.

It really is a stunning country.

You're very organised with your list. I'll consider that after my first scan. Feeling very un pregnant today :-( Not good for a natural worrier like me.

tiredteddy · 21/10/2012 11:12

Only being organised with my list because I'm due 18th jan so am 27 weeks now and the focus is going to be on Xmas too so want to be ready this side of the holiday!

MrsBri · 21/10/2012 11:19

Ah, good plan :-) Especially if you go early!

Dysgu · 21/10/2012 11:26

Gosh, Iceland does sound fabulous although not sure it will be the place to go with 3DC so unless we can get someone to have all three for a weekend, it might be another place we dream of visiting until they have all left home!

As for the list of things you need for a new born - gosh, I think we are going to be starting again as we were pretty sure that we were stopping at 2DC until we changed our minds! Surely there are lots of things on the list we never used though...

somethingwittynot · 21/10/2012 11:53

Thanks for the birthday wishes had a scan yesterday and everything is all good they gave me a new due date though so now im all confused!

tiredteddy · 21/10/2012 11:57

Is it earlier or later?

MrsBri · 21/10/2012 11:58

Ooh...I missed your birthday something, sorry. Thanks

What's your new due date?

WingDefence · 21/10/2012 18:46

Pineapple welcome! Grin Getting nice and busy on here!

Had a busy old day today. DS had a birthday party this morning but I took him to 20 mins of Sunday School first then went straight to a restaurant for DDad's birthday lunch, back to theirs this afternoon and then home 15 mins ago. I'm knackered and DH has gone out to play geetar at church so I'm going to get DS into bed and then completely veg in front of the tv!

How many days difference is the new EDD Something? If it's a private scan I don't think the NHS will listen.

Dysgu did you give the baby stuff away or sell it? If you gave it away, can you get it back?!

Dysgu · 21/10/2012 20:45

We freecycled most of the stuff we had when DD1 and DD2 were little - to be honest, we might have a look around and see what is on freecycle nearer the time. At the moment, we have not even thought about the stuff we are going to need. We do still have all the nappies - reusables - and have no problem using the pink ones should this bump turn out to be a boy!

I have been signed up to two national studies into premature birth - I guess we are going to be more realistic this time that this bump will likely come early although we have our sights set on going to term. This way I will have a test at 24 weeks to check for some hormone that shouldn't be there and then I will join another study (whatever the outcome as DD1 was 'early enough') that will give me a 50/50 chance of progesterone/placebo pessaries! TBH I am not sure what we would do if we were to bring this baby home the day it arrives - will certainly be an new experience!

somethingwittynot · 21/10/2012 21:04

Nhs due date is 26/2/13 private scan due date is 3/3/13

AWomanCalledHorse · 22/10/2012 07:52

A few days either way fine, but a week!? Confused
Hopefully you'll get a more accurate due date soon!

MrsBri, my symptoms have buggered off too, if I wasn't being hormonal (shouty & teary) I wouldn't know I was pg!

Hope everyone had a good weekend...and has a great week! Anyone upto anything exciting?

WingDefence · 22/10/2012 08:04

Morning all! I've got that we've-JSed-grin on my face!

I was going to post last night about whether you lot were still doing it like something as we all were before BFPs. Because I don't think DH and I had JSed for a month because my libido has hit rock bottom!

BT then I had a lot of very rude dreams about DH overnight and woke up very much in the mood Wink Only a quicky but put a smile on my face this morning! Grin

Something do you remember after my 12 weeks scan they put my EDD 8 days later? It's not unusual is it - but I'm just not sure the NHS like the fact that private scans exist so probably will be stubborn and ignore it! Just assume this DC might be a bit late?

tiredteddy · 22/10/2012 10:09

Good for you wing we are not up to much JS at the moment, my fault the low libido has arrived!

something the nhs scan measured you small didn't it? Did they change the date or just say baby was small. Maybe as baby us petite the private scan changed the dates because if the size? Does that make sense at all...

somethingwittynot · 22/10/2012 11:10

Yeah makes sense! Nhs people just said small baby the private people looked and the onky bit of the baby due on my nhs is the bpd they have a wide head! Shock

AWomanCalledHorse · 22/10/2012 11:27

Wing, hurrah for morning JS!

Those of you on your 2nd+ baby...when did you start to show?
I'm 5 weeks & I can't get my trousers done up, have been looking for maternity wear on eBay already!

Pineapple80 · 22/10/2012 11:32

Morning ladies. I hope you all had a nice weekend. It's interesting reading about the changes in EDDs etc. There is so much to take in at the moment!

I am seeing my GP today to confirm everything and get referred to hospital and midwife etc. Unsure what to expect - how soon would booking in appt be or does it really vary?

Anyway I am feeling fine, just extremely tired all the time and boobs are still quite sore!

Hope everyone has a good day Smile

StuckInTheFensAwayFromHome · 22/10/2012 13:13

hello all... good luck with the gp appointment pineapple - I rang my docs and there's no need to see the GP at our practice, so am going straight to the 'booking in' appointment, but our midwife is so busy she can't see me till the 1st of Nov.

But I am not too worried as I have an exciting day today - I spoke to my GP about 4-6 weeks ago about why I wasn't getting pregnant. I have been previously diagnosed with fibroids and I was wondering if they could have been having an impact. Well lovely GP organised an ultrasound for today - and I haven't cancelled it even though i have got my bfp. Am hoping they will still scan me and I may get an early view of the 'tiny' one... Fingers crossed and not that they send me home...

I would still like to be JSing at previous levels, but we've got my mum staying with us so its not very conducive to disappearing for a bit of a session. She's going back on Wednesday so am hoping for a very JS weekend!!!

MrsBri · 22/10/2012 13:22

I have to see either the nurse or the GP for midwife referral, which I'm doing tomorrow as I've been on honeymoon so couldn't go any sooner.

How much is an early scan and when is best to have it? I need some reassurance I think. Twinges today, however. Not painful as such, just a reminder I'm up duffed!

Pineapple, let me know how your appointment goes :-)

WingDefence · 22/10/2012 13:27

Hi Pineapple and Stuck :)

My booking-in appt was at 10 weeks. Have you signed up for the emails from various places yet? I found babycentre excellent (stay AWAY from the forums though!) and there are a couple of good free apps too. They tell you about appointments etc as well as baby development.

Stuck - ooh early scan! Let us know how it goes

Woman I needed stretchy trousers etc week very early on as well but actually that subsided a bit so I wonder if it was all bloating etc in the first couple of weeks?

I still think I look really quite fat but I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror naked Shock this morning and my bump is definitely there. And I am feeling more of the little inside bumps from MiniWing now. Roll on listening to the heartbeat at the 16 wk appt this Wednesday though for more reassurance!

WingDefence · 22/10/2012 13:29

+-posted Mrs Bri! Not sure how much they are but I think in general private scans are £99ish? Google for ones in your area or your GP may have info.

AWomanCalledHorse · 22/10/2012 13:57

MrsBri, looking locally to me (london/kent) they're between £59-99 each. They say any point from 6weeks onwards (early enough to see heartbeat).

Pineapple have fun(?) at GP! My booking was 2 weeks after intial appointment with DS.
I've got my GP's appointment today too!

Stuck, hope they scan you!! Exciting!

I would assume they'd get a wiggle on with all us early pregnant ladies as we're just in time for flu jab season (and the whooping cough one)?

Wing, I was just starting to rebuild my abs post DS! I didn't want to put everything on hold just because I was ttc, now I wish I didn't bother doing all those crunches!
I have an angelsounds fetal heartrate monitor (from Amazon), was really reassuring last time & it helped me to notice DS had an irregular heartbeat (fixed itself at birth) so I'd recommend one of them!

Pineapple80 · 22/10/2012 14:10

Oooh thanks for the info ladies, thats good to know Smile. And good luck today as well horse!

MrsBri · 22/10/2012 14:25

Ooh...let me know about your appt too, Woman.

I had a little look on Google on my phone, but couldn't see much. Now we are home (boo!) I'll look on the laptop as it'll be easier. I want a scan!!

MrsBri · 22/10/2012 14:26

Oh, and I was wondering about the flu jab too. Maybe I can get it tomorrow.

CuriosityColaKilledTheCat · 22/10/2012 14:28

I can't keep up with this thread at all. Should have lurked on the jsing thread first Grin

Very exciting about feeling more movements and getting a little bump wing

Does anyone have any food cravings?

Just over 6 weeks here and nervously awaiting scan on Friday. The past two days I have been feeling really nauseous, so I'm hoping that's a good sign.

If you want a private early scan it's worth posting in pregnancy. There is normally someone from your area that can recommend a place.
