something sorry you've been worrying. I hope everything is ok. Fingers crossed it's an anterior placenta that means you are just not feeling so much? Thinking of you.

ICompletelyKnowAboutGuineaPigs · 09/10/2012 07:58

Sorry to hear of your worries Somethinghoping that everything's ok for you. Have you seen your midwife? Have you listened to the heartbeat recently - I know I find that really reassuring.

My friend has only just started to feel movements because of an anterior placenta and she's 25 weeks. Do let us know how you get on.

FrustratedSycamoreBonks · 09/10/2012 09:24

I hope everything is okay something

somethingwittynot · 09/10/2012 11:33

Im wondering if i have an anterior placenta as i heard they like to attatch themselves to section scars

FrustratedSycamoreBonks · 09/10/2012 13:08

Could explain why you can't feel the kicks something
My dc2 just wasn't a big kicker.

tiredteddy · 09/10/2012 14:06

something I have an anterior placenta this time and movements feel very different. I felt the first flutters as normal while it was all low still but now it's very muffled feeling. I feel kicks on my bladder and at the top of my stomach but not at the front really. Did you have a Doppler of your own? I can't remember?

somethingwittynot · 09/10/2012 16:30

Yeah hard to find heartbeat but can here he/she moving

Practisingparent · 09/10/2012 16:35

Hi all. Im so gutted to hear fryings news, we conceived together IYKWIM!

My scan is next week. Child where we are, the nuchal and dating scan are done at the same time, so still only 2 scans in the whole pregnancy.

I asked my midwife friend to try and find the heartbeat using a doppler, but she said i should wait till atleast this week (week 12)as the womb is still behind the pubic bone. Will ask her again this week, but slightly worried in case she cant find it.

Iv told pretty much everyone already, am dying for the scan to reassure me everything is ok.

something hope you are feeling more positive, hope everything is fine.

ICompletelyKnowAboutGuineaPigs · 09/10/2012 19:18

My obstetrician friend came round at the weekend with her doppler as I was having a major panic that something was wrong. She had a listen and whilst it took a while she did find a lovely strong heartbeat - very reassuring! I was 10 weeks on Saturday.

She also left it with me which was a total mistake and I had a play on Sunday morning, but in my defence it was so I could ask her advice if needed at Church! Then my friend wanted to hear her baby's heartbeat (she's 25wks) so she came round this morning. Then I figured that - whilst it was out of the box - I could just 'check again'. It was much easier to find but still as lovely to hear Smile.

I am, however, slightly perturbed that my uterus is not behind my pubic bone, it is infact half way to my belly button Confused. Apparently when you've already been pregnant it's more likely to stretch quicker and so I'm just putting it down to third baby stretching plus I was MASSIVE with DD so it really has stretched!

Spoke to the CMW team leader again today and she has assigned me to a midwife who called today. She sounds lovely and booked me for blood tests on Friday morning.

I'm only 10+3 and I already feel like I've been pregnant forever! I think I will be much better after my scan (2 weeks today) and then when I feel the baby move and have a lovely and hopefully moderately sized bump.

tiredteddy · 09/10/2012 19:28

Hi practising looking forward to some scan news next week. I wish I had more scans to look forward to! Hope you are feeling well and not too sick or anything.

Hi guinea im having dc3 this time too. I seemed to get big quickly and at the 12 week scan they said my uterus had popped up already. Now 26 weeks and a smallish bump, seem to have levelled off a bit but can feel kicks well above my tummy button. The only way is outwards now!

Practisingparent · 10/10/2012 08:37

Wow tired, very Envy of your kicks. Guinea interesting you could find the heartbeat already. Really hope my friend can find my little bean today, have had a bit of a worry on recently, as Iv actually lost weight, rather than put any on, but was really sick last week, so thats probably it. cant wait to be sporting a bit of a bump!

WingDefence · 10/10/2012 09:57

Good luck with the heartbeat Practising. I haven't heard my little heartbeat yet and I don't know if they will listen for it at the 16 week MW checkup?

I got my first big batch of papers out yesterday but another huge one to finish today. Then Boss has decided that not only does he want me in London on Monday, he now wants me in London on Tuesday too so I'm going to have to ask my friends very, very nicely if anyone will put me up! Trouble is one of my mates who I'd usually stay with is going travelling around the world TODAY and the other one is my mummy mum but I don't want to put upon her as I'm hoping we may be able to stay with them for NYE!! Grin

Perhaps I could ask my cousin in her huge £1m mansion...?!

somethingwittynot · 10/10/2012 10:55

I had beans heartbeat listened to at 16 week appt.

My ds is growing up to fast! Pulling to stand on anything he can and this morning cruised the sofa!

WingDefence · 10/10/2012 11:14

Thanks Something.

I PM'd and have heard back from Dysgu and Mandsand and they are both fine. They have both been really busy with work. Manda is nearly 19 weeks and the twins are doing well :)

Dysgu is laying low for the time being until she has her scan next week and knows that everything is okay.

Hopefully they will both pop their heads back in soon :)

tiredteddy · 10/10/2012 12:11

Hello all!

wing your cousins mansion sounds like a good option! Good to hear news about the others so well done for pm ing them. Hope they come back to this thread soon.

something sounds like not long until your DS will be walking, maybe by Xmas. What will the age gap be between yours?

practising it's easy to say but try not to worry. I didn't put on any weight until after 14 weeks in fact I'm sure I lost some. Only put on 6lbs so far in total. I'm sure your little one is fine as your body will prioritise the baby. Not long to wait til the scan now.

ChildOfThe1980s · 10/10/2012 14:11

Hi

All the best for your scans something and practicing

I saw my doctor for the first time (since the MC) today. She was genuinely pleased for me :) She has contacted the MW and the hospital and hopefully I will get my scan date through asap, as I can't wait to see this baby and that everything is well.

Pretty sure it is as I am being sick, always tired and already feel very pregnant. Also I'm feeling emotional, for no reason.

Hope you are all well.

ICompletelyKnowAboutGuineaPigs · 10/10/2012 19:35

Huge million pound mansion sounds good Wing! I think it's standard to listento the heartbeat at 16 week appointment so not too much longer to wait Smile.

Hope you get to hear the heartbeat today practising, let us know.

Glad Dysgu and Manda are good, and hopefully get to catch up with them soon.

A friend at church offered me her Dream Genii today and I'm very excited! Slept terribly last night because I kept waking up on my back feeling really funny - the 6 months if side sleeping has started early it seems Sad.

Been a busy old day but going to a bible fellowship thing tonight so will be nice to chill out a bit. Then I think I'm going to treat myself to a late night bath. It's strange, I almost never have baths except when I'm pregnant and then I seem to become addicted to them!

Hope you've all had a good day Smile

WingDefence · 10/10/2012 20:29

Evening all. DH is away with work so I had fish fingers and chips for my tea yum yum :)

Cousin said yes! I felt so bad about asking with such short notice but they have a few spare bedrooms so that's okay Grin It's not really a mansion, just a reeeeeally big house on an unadapted road with other reeeeeeally big houses with its own swimming pool and behind gates.

But other than that, not a mansion at all!

Guinea, enjoy your fellowship meeting tonight. We host a house group at ours but the timetable is very erratic this year which is a bit annoying as last year it was every other week and that worked well. This time it'll be a bit random.

Practising, hope you heard the heartbeat today? And I'm so glad to hear Child that your doctor was nice. Of course she would be :)

Right, a bit of reading to do tonight then BED!

tiredteddy · 10/10/2012 21:29

child really glad that you saw the doctor and that she was nice. I'm still emotional for no reason but sickness gone at long last. Symptoms are Good in the early stages though, very reassuring.

guinea I'm no longer making it though the night with out waking up for a wee Blush and have to sleep on my side now too. Maybe I should look at a pillow but there's not much room I. Our bed as one of the boys usually gets in at some point! Baths do sound like a good idea though!

wing you've made me crave a fish finger sandwich!

ICompletelyKnowAboutGuineaPigs · 11/10/2012 13:47

Glad your meeting with Dr was positive Child.

Wing I'm so glad it's not just me that occasionally eats 'kids' food - I had banana and custard for lunch the other day! Which I blame entirely on the pregnancy even though I eat it when I'm not pregnant.

I think Tired that dream genii pillows are designed to make you more comfortable but not take up all the room in the bed. I'll try it and report back!

DD keeps getting up at 6.30 (which is not hugely different from 7am I know) but it feels soooo early. Luckily this morning I had to get up for a wee at 6.15 so I was already sort of awake. She goes to sleep fine but has a habit of waking us up in the middle of the night shouting us. When we go in it's usually for something she could do herself like pick up her Peso penguin toy. This morning's joy was 'MUUUMMYYY' [cue mummy rushing in asking what's the matter] 'My duvet isn't straight!'. Not impressed! DS on the other hand takes an age to get to sleep (though thank fully stays in bed) but once he's asleep the house falling down around him wouldn't wake him up. I'm hoping this baby will be a good combination of the two - falling asleep easily and soundly until 8am but knowing my luck miniGuinea will take ages to fall asleep and then will do so fitfully, waking early! Any suggestions gratefully received!

I have a PhD supervision this afternoon and I can't decide whether to tell my supervisors about miniGuinea or not?! I'm rubbish at keeping secrets, especially as I'm on very good terms with one of my supervisors - help!

WingDefence · 11/10/2012 13:58

Hi there Guinea and everyone else :)

Remind me how many weeks you are? I would wait until after 12 if I were you (that's what I did with work). Obviously, it's completely your decision but that's just what I did.

But I have never done a PhD so I don't know if it will make a massive difference to anything e.g. will you need to take time out of doing it (like going on maternity leave) when the baby comes or will it make no difference apart from you getting bigger etc? If it will impact on plans for 2013 then perhaps tell them?

I don't know! Confused

Funnily enough Tired, these past few nights I haven't had to get up for a wee! 1st trimester, weeing for England. Now, not so much Grin

somethingwittynot · 11/10/2012 14:11

ill have a 13 month gap between my two imagine if my DS walked on christmas day Grin

somethingwittynot · 11/10/2012 14:12

very Envy of the less weeing im still weeing for england at 20 fucking weeks!!

WingDefence · 11/10/2012 14:49

Oh something I fully expect it to get worse again once my bladder starts to get squished!

How are you doing btw?

somethingwittynot · 11/10/2012 15:20

i just keep telling myself only 20 weeks haha! im good thanks you? have 20 week scan next week and have booked a private scan for my birthday to
