Morning all. Ds1 and DH are out at football. Ds2 and I are snuggled in bed watching narnia with crumpets and hot chocolate.

ICompletelyKnowAboutGuineaPigs · 06/10/2012 09:43

Ooo Tired that sounds lovely.

DD is much better today and had a much better night thankfully, plus DH got up with the kids this morning and took them out so I'm MNing in bed!

We had people over last night and my kitchen is a nightmare ... But a nice evening had by all so worth the mess.

An obstetrician friend is dropping off her Doppler for me to borrow today. Can't decide if having a listen will make me feel better or worse, if its too early to hear anything then I might panic more but if I could hear something I might calm down a bit. Decisions decisions...

What you all.up to today, anything nice?

WingDefence · 06/10/2012 18:23

Evening all :) We've had a lovely day in sunny Southport and I managed to get to H&M which had a small Mama section at the back so I got a lovely knitted dress and stocked up on vest tops as those are the only things I can't really use from last time round because all the elastic went in the belly section!

They only had skinny jeans and I can't even pull those up past my knees (I have the biggest ankles and calves known to man) so I was really disappointed with those and they only had the puffa jacket which I wasn't as keen on in real life so I didn't get that either.

I must find a Gap maternity!!

Guinea so glad to hear your DD is doing better today. Did you use the doppler? I've not heard MiniWing's heartbeat yet.

Oh and I got my nuchal results through the post yesterday 1:100,000 risk which I think might be the lowest you can get. I'm sure it's far lower than it was for DS so that's great :)

Tired and Frustrated which sounded like me last night when I got in from London hope you've both had good days too?

tiredteddy · 06/10/2012 18:51

guinea very glad your dd is on the mend. Not sure about the Doppler I think I'd worry more if I couldn't find the heartbeat by not doing it properly. Bet you get the knack soon Wink

wing yay for shopping and low DS risk results. I sent my asos coat bag as it was huge! I've won a cream maternity duffel coat on eBay which should arrive soon. If its wet I'll have to wear dh's waterproof!

Police been today to take statements about the next door lodger. They were really nice and encouraged us to log a complaint every time there's noise or disturbance so they can build their case. Also done some more decorating and sorting out. My house will be minimal if it kills me Grin

ICompletelyKnowAboutGuineaPigs · 06/10/2012 19:12

Tired I think making my house minimal would kill me!! Glad the police were nice when they came round and something is going to be done about the neighbour's lodger.

Glad you found some things in H&M Wing. I bought a Jo Jo Maman Bebe denim skirt on ebay the other day in a 12 and it is HUGE on me! If anyone wants it let me know (not that I am suggeting that any of you are huge). I can't work out my size with maternity clothes. I tried a pair of size 8 combat trousers on in Mamas & Papas though I've no idea why as I haven't been as 8 for years but I couldn't even get them past my knees! In Gap I bought an 8 (Gap size 4) and I needed a smaller sized skirt! I think I'm about a size 10 but opted for the 12 and it's generous. Don't think I'll bother buying bottoms from ebay again.

A couple of friends at church brought me 2 huge bags of clothes this week so I think apart from a denim skirt, some knit wear and maybe a coat I think I'm good to go.

My friend came round with her fetal doppler. She happens to be a senior registrar obstetrician - which is handy - so she found the heartbeat for me and it was lovely and strong. I feel very reassured now.

Took the kids to Temple Newsam this afternoon and had a great time. There is a home farm and a fab playground I may also have treated myself to a large caramel shortcake in the cafe!

Do we all live in the North of England? If so we should arrange a meet-up/shopping trip somewhere we can all get to.

Anyone have any idea how Frying is doing?

WingDefence · 06/10/2012 19:42

Guinea so glad you could hear the heartbeat! Very happy for you as that's a big positive isn't it :)
You've reminded me that DH's aunt was a retired midwife and I remember going round to hers and she got her doppler out and had a listen to DS fairly early on. She passed away earlier this year and she was the loveliest lady ever.

How much did you pay for that eBay skirt? I may be interested!

And a meet-up sounds lovely, although I haven't told DH that I know a load of ladies on MN so I may have to make something completely random up. Any ideas?? Confused

I'm not sure if Frying will have hidden this thread after her sad news :(

WingDefence · 06/10/2012 19:43

Oh and Tired I hope the police can do something about the git next door. Not what you need with children and one on the way. Hope your mum is okay as well. Brew

ICompletelyKnowAboutGuineaPigs · 06/10/2012 19:49

Not how much I paid for the skirt but you could have it if you just cover postage. I'd rather someone get some use out of it.

Haven't heard from Manda for ages ... maybe she's just on the multiples threads? Have you joined an EDD thread?

tiredteddy · 06/10/2012 19:56

Oh no! I'm not in the north I'm in Surrey! Mums op not til the 19th oct (ds2 birthday so that will be an odd day) its strange when people have bad news as I wish to stay in touch and hand hold but can understand that they don't want to be on the pregnancy threads anymore either. I'm not on an EDD thread the jan is huge! About 40+ o. The stats list. Moves too quickly for me.

ICompletelyKnowAboutGuineaPigs · 06/10/2012 20:45

OK Tired well I propose a shopping and lunch date in London then!

Still not sure whether EDD is end April or early May but both threads are massive. Not sure I could keep up with either of them!

Just finished a massive bowl of chinese takeaway and feel very full now. Could murder a glass of Wine but will resist. I've not really fancied it up until today but am very tempted. I think after my scan I will treat myself to one glass and with DD I did drink very little but quite regularly. It's going to be weird not drinking at Christmas, although when DD was born (December baby) I was BFing so don't think I drank much at all then. I suppose I had lovely newborn cuddles as consolation! Can't wait to get a proper bump and feel lots of lovely kicks. Hopefully I'll feel them quite quickly as it's DC3.

How many weeks are you now?

WingDefence · 06/10/2012 20:57

I'm 14 weeks today - officially in the 2nd trimester woo hoo!!

I'm actually meant to be working which I wouldn't be if I hadn't sat on my fat bum for the first two days of this week but thought I'd pop back on here. Guinea, really? That is extremely kind of you. Thanks PM or text me the cost - you already have my address Grin

I have PM'd both Dysgu and Manda and I'm guessing that Something is far too busy on her other thread to find time for us!! Wink I think Practising is also AWOL and some others but I haven't gone completely back through the thread.

Mmmm chinese. I really fancied a glass of red this week so I had one and poor DH had to drink the rest of the bottle over a couple of nights!

I haven't joined the April thread as like the others they look HUGE. I am quite happy with you lot actually :)

I'll be back down in London for work a few times in the next couple of months but mostly for day-long meetings but if any of you are able to get into London easily in the daytime I'm sure there must be one day I could have a lunch date?

Right, 20 mins left on my battery (I'm working in front of the tv) so I'd better get on. Night!

tiredteddy · 06/10/2012 20:59

Good plan guinea !

We had Chinese too, yummy! I think I didn't really feel this one very soon (dc3 too) but I have an anterior placenta so that must be why. She's making up for it now though. Ooh that feels weird saying she, still don't fully believe it!

WingDefence · 06/10/2012 20:59

And Tired, I do hope your mum's op goes well. And DS2's birthday of course :)

WingDefence · 06/10/2012 21:00

MiniTired and MiniGuinea both like chinese! I discovered today that MiniWing likes tapas Grin

Right, I really am going now!

tiredteddy · 06/10/2012 21:06

Thanks wing x

FrustratedSycamorePants · 07/10/2012 10:25

guinea I've always found I had to go a size smaller in maternity than I usually am.

tiredteddy · 07/10/2012 11:34

Think your right frustrated me too with a size smaller. I'm size 12 in real life and seem to need a small in mat clothes or a 10. At least we feel good about something!

FrustratedSycamorePants · 07/10/2012 11:35

Only time I fit into a 12 teddy where the logic there I ask?

tiredteddy · 07/10/2012 12:37

I least I can delude myself in the new year when baby arrives and I am wearing size 10 albeit maternity clothes afterwards! Ha ha ha.

I have spent the morning sorting out the boys books. So many I could open a shop. Now onto their toys, some moving into the loft, some going to charity shops. We have rearranged the playroom to make space for a chest of drawers for babytired. DH is gloss painting the front room baby window. We are on a mission.

WingDefence · 08/10/2012 08:48

Morning all! Tired, at the risk of me sounding like a scrounger, of you are going to give any cars, Lego, or anything to do with farms away to charity, I'll buy it from you or give a donation to a charity of your choice!?!

I had a horrible day yesterday. Have more work to do than I can physically get done for the deadline (papers due out today, still not finished, hours left to do) so I worked all day with a couple of breaks through until 11:30 last night :( I'm shattered this morning and just have to keep going - boo.

On the upside, I think I felt MiniWing kick for the first time as I was gett ready for bed last night!! It definitely wasn't wind and felt more internal IYKWIM? I asked my BF trainee midwife and she said it's perfectly possible to feel the baby his early esp second time round!

So that cheered me up :)

Hope you all have good days ahead.

tiredteddy · 08/10/2012 11:36

Morning wing it's too late! Agh! Just got back from dropping off at charity shop after school run. Sorry, if anything else turns up I'll definately keep you in mind. Glad you felt mini wing kick how lovely! How many weeks are you now? Sorry your work load is so huge I hope there's a light at the end of the tunnel?

WingDefence · 08/10/2012 11:55

Oh no! Well definitely do not tell me what you gave away Grin

I'm 14 and 2 days today :)

I have a headache but I'm nearly at the end of one paper I can send to the bosses while I do the next awfully long bit. The papers won't be going out today unless midnight counts I need a Brew

tiredteddy · 08/10/2012 18:12

Oh dear, after all the busy work at the weekend I've done nothing today! Had a nice sleep this afternoon though! Wink

somethingwittynot · 08/10/2012 22:31

So sorry i havent been around and thinking of those who need to be thought off feeling anxious as 20 weeks with 2nd no bump and very limited movement scan on 15th will tell all though

WingDefence · 09/10/2012 07:27

Poor you something. Please do let us know how the scan goes next week x
