My sister is a fab knitter, MiL crochet and I cross stitch so all in all this baby will have many things made with love!!

Lexiindisguise · 04/09/2012 14:32

sheldon I've been told that Youtube is brilliant - I must check it out! JoJo I embroider by hand but have an urge to make bootees, blankets, hats....blame the hormones ;-)

backwardpossom · 04/09/2012 14:36

How funny, I was checking ebay for knitting 'starter kits' earlier. I used to knit when I was younger as a way of wasting time when I should have been studying for exams at uni... (I'm such a bad student Hmm) I can't find my knitting needles anywhere...

zoeymlucas · 04/09/2012 14:40

I am a good cross stitcher so both DS have birth ones and DS2 nursey is filled with them :) I want to learn to knit so was on you tube this morning trying to see if i can.

Have just had lunch gate - went to make myself a ham sandwich and some little s*it had eaten the new ham I bought yesterday and my cheese I had in there and had eaten most of my bread leaving me 2 slices - lucky for him he is now in London but has been warned by other people in office there is an angry crazy pregnant lady after his blood! Feel too rubbish for the 15 min walk in pouring rain to get more so someone found me some soup in there desk and someone else donated haribo and monster munch - I clearly scared them, lol!!

tiddleypompom · 04/09/2012 14:47

Marking my place for fear of getting lost in the chatter. That reminds me (obscurely) of dh's sheer astoundedness at the noise created by 100s of women running (whilst chatting) during the Race For Life a few years back. He couldn't believe the noise :o

Just give me a shout when you need a new thread. I'll be here, rocking my almost toddler to sleep (bout time I fixed that) and naming chickens. Belated apologies to ethel for being cockrel :o

Is it wrong to be THIS excited over my first bounty bag of freebies?! I want to stitch a nice birth sampler but I want it to be similar to the colours I've chosen for the nursery... Might be setting myself a bit of a task there :)

theTramp · 04/09/2012 15:07

Interesting that potato = no nausea isn't just me and 3fortea wheat makes me feel bad too, pasta in particular. I'm not avoiding as much as I should due to present wholemeal muffins dripping in honey addiction (breakfast, snack, tea - s'all good) but I've stopped eating pasta for a while. Jasmine tea and my usual fave pepper (red, yello, orange types) also triggers.

One of my clients has guessed I'm preggers. On one hand I'm glad they don't think I've eaten all the pies, on other - 1st baby & I'm showing before a 12 week scan. That's not good is it?! Roll on Friday, being able to tell people and some new clothes.

tiddleypompom · 04/09/2012 15:08

My IO jeans have arrived. Yum yummy yum.

JoJo I've not filled in the Bounty form for fear of being swamped by marketing crap. (I'm a marketer I know damn well that a few freebies is not close to the value of that kind of data) Am I being nah humbug? Is it actually worth going for? What did you get?

zoeymlucas · 04/09/2012 15:14

No Jojo I love my bounty packs - have already had 2 of the 1st one Grin
I just cant help myself - there is something about freebies :) With Ds I managed to get about 15 of the pregnancy ones one at every consultant appointment and 2 of the post birth packs, DH just laughs at me as I get sooooo excited and they are near enough all the same, lol!! Plus I sign up to all the free clubs for stuff.

JoJoBella84 · 04/09/2012 15:18

Well, I got some moisturiser, some fairy powder, some Persil and comfort pure and a mini pot of sudocrem (which honestly just melted my heart) its diddy!! Will be going in the hospital bag!!
It's mostly just leaflets and brochures etc which I throw away!!

theTramp · 04/09/2012 15:22

So not really then, unless you like sampler freebies?

backwardpossom · 04/09/2012 15:27

Really? I got a fecking tea bag and a sample of a moisturiser in mine. I haven't signed up though. I did with DS and got a stupid amount of marketing calls. Wont be bothering this time.

Sheldonella · 04/09/2012 15:28

No bounty for me - I have an irrational dislike of marketing calls. I also get so much junk from virgin media that I don't think I can cope with more mail!

backwardpossom · 04/09/2012 15:28

Oh and see that mini pot of sudocrem? I still have the one I was given for DS - it went in the changing bag and I hardly used it. He didn't really ever get nappy rash though. I used cloth on him a lot of the time and it seemed to help. Also seemed to help with potty training as he was trained by age 2 and dry at night at 2 and a half!

sundaesundae · 04/09/2012 15:29

Hi guys, have had a quick catch up, great to hear of so many good scans! I am still a tiny bit worried about being put back 10 days, but when I was pregnant before and had an early scan (I had to have a termination) I was 10 days out in the same way, so maybe just me.

I am crushingly tired after a weekend away in Kirkby Lonsdale, my Dad's 60th birthday and i did waaaaayyyy too much. My appetite is back and I feel like a whale! Wearing a nice m&p dress which will see me through for months and months and had £20 off :o)

I want to start crocheting or knitting, but will wait until after my official 12 week scan.

Still nauseous :o( wish that would bugger off!!

theTramp · 04/09/2012 15:34

Sundae - feet up, pretend cup of tea (decaf), slice of cake, stop yer worrying & enjoy the chicken & knitting March Mumsnet chit chat.

zoeymlucas · 04/09/2012 15:35

I didnt get moisturiser I got blinking nipple cream!! I also got some ovaltine which DH was happy about as I got it last time and hate the stuff so he got it! I got the persil and comfort and some money off vouchers which was nice :) Love the mini sudocrea and great for nappy bags and just refilling them when it runs out

Just rang hospital and they had missed me from 20 week scan for some reason so have just booked it in for Wednesday 24th Oct - which seems forever away and has made me glad I am find out the sex of baby at the end of this month and not waiting till then as my patience wouldnt of waited that far!

backwardpossom · 04/09/2012 15:56

Actually just looked at the form. You don't have to give them a phone number. So I might sign up to it and give them an old email address that I use for signing up to crap like this, and just chuck any junk mail that comes through the door in the shredder... It's just the phone calls that get on my tits. They usually happen just as you get DC down to sleep.

sundaesundae · 04/09/2012 15:57

I have eaten so much today:

breakfast - kitkat chunky (was driving and only thing I had with me, it was either eat or chuck!)

lunch - half a sandwich, half a waitrose mackerel pate and bread stick thing, mini pork pie, tiny mini millionaires shortbread, lots of bread with butter with salt crystals in.

I am sat (lying) on a hotel room bed watching paralympics hoping my blackberry stays quiet!

Have also done the finances and as we are currently saving £2k a week and I earn £1800 a month, I could give up work for a while if I wanted. Not planning too, but nice to know I could give it up!

theTramp · 04/09/2012 15:59

Nipple cream. So hang on.. You have bump cream/oil to
Prevent stretch marks. Moisturiser for face. Body cream for body. Bum cream for nappy rash and nipple cream for - Soothing tired nipples? Putting the moisture back into nipples? Making them taste nicer?

backwardpossom · 04/09/2012 16:01

tramp if you plan to breastfeed, nipple cream will be your life saver, believe me. Mind you, not the cheap rubbish, it's lansinoh or nothing!

zoeymlucas · 04/09/2012 16:15

Tramp after I had DS 2 one of my BF bought me boob firming cream, I wasnt sure if to offended or not, lol! Nipple cream is a god send as nipples get very dry and sore and can split - see all the hidden secrets of pregnancy that no one told you before, lol!!
Possom if they want a number I normally give mine and 'accidentaly' put the last 2 numbers the wrong way round Grin

Sheldonella · 04/09/2012 16:16

Hmm, I'm getting tempted now. Just how much junk mail are we talking?

Rainbowbabyhope · 04/09/2012 16:21

Had my 12 week scan today and have been moved forwards by 5 days so new due date is 14 March - that means 5 days less worrying to do!
