Gosh ladies it such a flipping ordeal isn't it!

MakeTeaNotWar · 26/09/2012 13:52

Happy due date to me, happy due date to me......no sign of anything moving here!

Littleplasticpeople · 26/09/2012 15:12

Happy due date maketea Grin

beeble, the acid is horrid isn't it, I've actually been taking Zantac for ages now (along with omeprazole) as have suffered with hyperemesis throughout this pregnancy. I simply can't wait to have this baby so that I can stop the throwing up Sad

No real twinges today, but am taking every opportunity to bounce on my ball in the hope something will happen. Hoping I'm not left regretting the decision to refuse induction at 39 weeks (that would be this Friday) an that my body is finally kind to me this pregnancy and evicts this baby sooner rather than later!

Thumbwitch · 26/09/2012 15:18

Happy due date, maketea!

My stomach is going like a washing machine at the moment - baby is having a jolly good wriggle but I've no idea what position it's in. I'm pretty sure it did turn the right way over for a while, had a hard line going down the middle of my bump instead of across it for a bit - but now, who knows Confused. There's a LOT of manoeuvring happening.

I've got my acid sort of under control, using Tums - but I have to time them carefully. Bad day today - already had 2 lots, need another before I go to bed (now) so hopefully I'll miss any acid backwash overnight.

pinpan · 26/09/2012 15:54

Hello again. Smile

count yourselves lucky for "only" needing 4 loo breaks per night ladies - my little Womble is beautiful but she seems to have missed the memo about newborns needing lots of sleep, and has mostly been eating for 3 days now. I'm pretty tired.

Oh, and all my looking forward to lying on my front again has been ruined by my eNORmous norks. Confused

On the plus side, I'm superwoman for inadvertently pushing her out with no painkillers or gas. It just seemed easier to keep going than to stop and ask!

Welcome back pinpan sounds like you had a good labour! Glad you're enjoying squishy newborn times! Even despite the lack of sleep :)

goodsenseofdirection · 26/09/2012 17:57

pinpan glad your little one is doing well - sounds like you coped with the birth amazingly well! Good luck with the lack of sleep and enjoy the first week or two.

Happy due date maketea

It's my last day at work tomorrow Grin Grin and today I went out with my whole dept for lunch as everyone was in the office. Now I definitely feel ready to finish!

Hello everyone :)

Thank you for everyone?s concern about the itchiness. It has not stopped, in fact it is driving me crazy! I have midwife tomorrow for acupuncture so will ask her about it. I think that it might be PUPPS, does anyone have any experience of this?

goodsense O that?s awful about your roof! Hope you are ok and excited about your last day tomorrow! It is the best feeling finishing up!

Winnie Congratulations!!! I am getting so jealous of all these beautiful babies!!

Hetty Random question? Noticed you talking about piercings, do you have your belly button pierced? I took mine out about 2 years ago so it should have healed up by now but the wee hole has never gone away and is very red at the moment?its scaring me a wee bit!! Never occurred to me when I got it done when I was 16! I just thought I was a cool rebel Grin

Gizzy I?ve not heard much about the princess royal but I think all services in Glasgow and clyde are pretty good. Obviously though would be very good if you didn?t have to come all that way! I will ask about and see if I know anyone who has experience there, most people I know have been to the RAH in Paisley.

Bear are you feeling any better?

Pinpan Great to see you again! Glad you seem to be doing well, and you are majorly superwoman for no pain relief!!!

Laughing at everyone?s DH doing their heads in. Mine is doing the opposite, keeps talking to the bump telling them to come later rather than sooner as he has some important ice hockey games to play?. I could thump him, I want baby out now!!!!

Has anyone tried the evening primrose capsules? and I don?t mean orally?? I?m getting so fed up I might try it! Been popping my raspberry leaf capsules and had a lovely clary sage bath last night. Come on baby!!!!

CaptainHetty · 26/09/2012 19:10

Good to hear from you, pinpan, and glad you're doing well. Apart from being tired :o

Sooty I never had my belly button done - mine are either facial or ear piercings. My sister had hers done and took it out when she found out she was pregnant. Hers went quite red as her bump grew and looked a bit odd and stretched by the end but it was ok, no ill effects from it.

Sympathies to everyone feeling fed up and tired, it's really starting to drag now.

Bear1984 · 26/09/2012 19:11

Aww pinpan bless you. Hope she starts tiring up for you Wink I had no pain relief with DD either as there wasn't time so well done you :)

thumb I'm the same. I have no idea what he's doing but plenty of movements. Feels like he's getting ready to join the circus lol!

GP just called me as I saw her with some student midwives on Monday before I went hospital. She rang to confirm I don't have a urine infection and to see if there were any signs of baby. She was lovely, she's not my usual GP as my usual is off for the rest of the year for some reason. So she told me that if I'm worried at all, I can just give her a call and she'll squeeze me in which was very nice of her.

Bear1984 · 26/09/2012 19:14

sooty feeling bit better other than just the usual thank. Going to have a bath soon to see if that will calm baby down and relax my back/stomach.

GizzyBoo · 26/09/2012 19:15

sooty I have done the epo capsules up the vag for the last 2 nights. I shall do so again tonight. Only difference I've noticed is lots more snotty like discharge. Maybe that means something??

pinpan how lovely to have you back. Hope you are enjoying lots of snuggles with your snuffly wee girl. Hope you also manage some sleep soon. Well done on your labour and birth too. Sounds like you did great x

newtonupontheheath · 26/09/2012 19:16

I'm going to be a bit crap and not name check as I'm on my phone but...

Pinpan hello! Lovely to hear from you Smile I'm a member of the pain-relief free club too... Welcome! Bless your little one for her huge appetite... And Grin at your huge norks!!

To everybody else... Hi! Head is a bit mushy tonight and I've immediately forgotten everything I was going to say Blush maybe ill come back after I've eaten....

WeeSooty · 26/09/2012 23:01

Lol gizzy you've made me giggle. I couldn't think of a polite way to ask but up the vag is exactly what I was thinking! Might start trying tomorrow! Honestly the things we ladies have to do!

Thanks for the reassurance hetty it seems so red I was worried but at least your sisters was ok, I guess it's normal to be so stretched, it just looks gross!!

bear that's really lovely of your GP :) good to know you have someone to call! Hope the bath helped to calm things down.

newton hope the baby brain is better lol I've discovered that as I'm no longer at work I keep forgetting what day it is!!!

I'm resisting the urge to itch while watching one born every minute. Woman on it irrationally annoying me by screaming too much. Obviously I am going to be completely calm, quiet earth mother when it's my turn... Hmm Confused

Pheebs24 · 27/09/2012 04:27

Hi all, up in the night again but this time because I've overdone it and needed some paracetamol for flaming pelvis. Def can't walk further than the end of the street and back now... but did buy some expensive shampoo to make me feel less troll-like (hands and feet are now permanently swollen along with the general pain and discomfort we all have) Grin

Elvis in case you're still having hip issues mum told me to sleep with a pillow under my hips when I was suffering with sciatica and it did help me to get some sleep, although the positioning seems counter-intuitive the softness does ease the pressure compared to the mattress alone...

sooty/gizzy wha-wha-what???? MW said that epo might help but she never said to put it there!!!! Shock

Pheebs24 · 27/09/2012 04:30

My fingers just aren't doing what I tell them - I meant 'there!!!' (but still shocked lol)

Pheebs24 · 27/09/2012 04:31

OK - bear with me, I'll get the emphasis right if it takes all night... there!!!!

pinpan · 27/09/2012 05:58

Thanks for all the greetings!

WeeSooty, I have to 'fess up, I was silent earth mother up until the pushing, but then I pretty much screamed the hospital down, and it was totally helpful. Grin She was crowning for 40 minutes before an episiotomy was deemed necessary but then popped out very happily. Hmm

My lovely midwife came round this morning (after my first night back home) and has made DH and me feel much better - the womble has a BAD case of wind which is why she has been comfort feeding and then up-chucking and not sleeping. She's not just a monster baby! Burp your babies well girls. Oh god, I feel pretty ignorant about this whole parenting lark, but I guess I'll get the hang of it eventually Hopefully the new regime will take hold fairly quickly and she'll bliss out between feeds. I better go and put some more pics of her looking adorable on facebook.

Good luck to everyone who is contracting! Congrats Winnie. Smile

LoopyLa · 27/09/2012 07:41

Pheebs also a bit Shock at where the EPO is going - Sooty/Gizzy how does it...ummm, dissolve ?!! And how far are you putting it?

pinpan you sound so blissed out & happy, mummy hood is already sounding pretty damn amazing I wasn't dreading it at all & you make even more excited about my own arrival Smile

4.5 weeks to go!!

Thumbwitch · 27/09/2012 07:46

Pheebs - don't know whether or not you're into the complementary side of things but the moxibustion I had was bloody brilliant for bringing down the swelling in my feet, and the acupuncturist has recommended juniper and celery supplements to help reduce water retention too. Which I am taking because of the whole 30% amniotic fluid thing - Wriggler has been on the move almost constantly since the moxi yesterday, but seems to be vertical now (I'd like to hope head down as well) so reducing the fluid so it can't move again seems like a jolly good idea!

PinPan - hurrah for sorting the winding out! Hope she's much better for you now.

I did at putting the EPO up your fanny - that wouldn't have occurred to me! Grin

GizzyBoo · 27/09/2012 08:24

loopy & pheebs I put it in as far as my wee arms can reach around the bump Blush I did ask hubby to do it but he said no. The prostaglandins are supposed to help ripen the cervix. They disolve quite quickly. Might want to wear a pad if you try as you can get a little oil leakage Grin

Pinpan it sounds like you are doing an awesome job and wee Nina is settling nicely. Congrats again x

WeeSooty · 27/09/2012 08:30

Grin at everyone's reaction to where to put the primrose oil! I thought it was common knowledge (I spend way too much time lurking about mumsnet) I will be trying it out tonight Blush

pinpan I have the lowest pain threshold ever. No way will I be doing it in total silence! So glad you are settling in well with baby. Very jealous!

I had awful nights sleep. Itching driving me crazy and spent 1/3 night itching, 1/3 crying in dispair and the other third waking up DH to get spiders that kept appearing! Feel awful cause he got no sleep either! Midwife at 9am, really hoping she can fix the itch!!!

MakeTeaNotWar · 27/09/2012 08:48

Good luck sooty hope the midwife can sort you out this morning.

Lovely to hear all is going well for you pinpan !

Feel a bit depressed this morning - I know I've still got time but am 40 + 1 now and already feel the pressure of induction looming. DD came at 40 + 13 having refused induction last time but I can't bear to go through it all again. I'll have a sweep next Wed at 41 weeks then they want to book me in at the hospital for induction at + 10 which I really really want to avoid.

Anyone got any positive induction stories for me?

GizzyBoo · 27/09/2012 09:01

Maketea my last was an induced labour and it was the easiest of the 3. Went in at 10am.....they could break my waters so had that done at 12. Spent a few hours of wandering round and was having regular contractions by tea time. it all went smoothly from there and he was born in the early hours of the morning.

Like you ay though you still have plenty of time. #2 was 13 days late and came spontaneously.

I am going to lie in the bath with my book now. I am not getting out for a very long time Grin
