Right, I'm going to make myself an egg butty then back off to work until 10.

NervousAt20 · 02/08/2012 14:06

Thanks for looking valium I don't want to have to pay out twice, would just like to have a nice set that will last a while. It is expensive even though half price, why anyone would have paid full price I don't understand but saying that all the bedding sets I've seen have been expensive Confused

NervousAt20 · 02/08/2012 14:10

With regards to the fleas, front lining every 4 weeks is great for the house there are lots of sprays available that IMO are better then powder and if you get one from your vets it will be more expensive but they are alot more stronger then pet shop brought ones. I've used one called stay kill and it's ment to last for 12 months in the house you need to keep treating your pets aswell and it's really strong so need to keep toddlers, plants, pets away from it, do one room at a time spray everywhere, round your skirting boards, under the sofa, curtains and leave for a whole can't remember exactly how long but will be on the bottle then Hoover everything and wash whatever can be washed on a hot wash aswell and do that for every room. It is a pain but it was brilliant for me

DP threatened to get rid of the dog last week and I cried and cried. Think I?d rather get rid of DP than the dog!

Just phoned work to say I have another 2 week sick line. They still have me down as annual leave and say I need to get the maternity paperwork to them ASAP or I will not be paid. Twats. I have a fecking broken leg, I have asked that the manager call me to talk about it! As I am on certified sick leave and still have Annual Leave to take, they have to keep paying me, and give me time to do the fecking forms! Not happy! But grateful I have a job too, such as it is.

Sorry to hear about the redundancy news on here
I really though being pregnant we were virtually untouchable, but it looks like that's not the case

lillianna my birthing ball is a gym ball from adidas, prob could have got a cheaper one (paid £24 from argos) but I liked the anti burst feature -so if it does pop it will deflate slowly rather than like a balloon and it takes up to either 17 stone or 19 stone depending on where you are reading the information. It comes with a free pump and I got 75cm as I'm 5 ft 7. I think your hips are supposed to be higher than your knees (i think)

ValiumQueen I feel like the baby is between my legs too. I really cannot appreciate the size it must be but I'm sure its too small, even if its head down, to make a difference at this stage. This baby likes to kick me on the inside of my pubic bone which can be very painful, it does like to be low down or wedged in my right side but I do get kicks or punches up top. I think I felt a leg or arm the other day which was really odd.

horseylady · 02/08/2012 15:16

Had a right drama!! Was rushed into hospital with suspected pe?! Numerous tears/tests/xrays to show that I have a chest infection which my body is fighting so they won't give me anything for it unless it gets worse and repeat bloods would needed. To be honest I've been treated superbly well and happy with the over reaction. But my god I've not been this scared ever. Poor dh rushed out of work and was wonderful in reassuring me but still!!

There's some very powerful sprays available from the vets. That really work. It's one of the reasons I don't have carpet downstairs the pets are not allowed upstairs. That and the amount of bloody fur that comes off them!!! Threatened to get rid of both cats the other day. The fat cat as she won't go out and is moulting, the other cat because he kept pooing!! Anyway he had worms so all forgiven the fat cat still needs to go out!

TitsalinaBumSquash · 02/08/2012 15:17

I'm glad you're ok horsey I had a PE when pregnant with DS1, it was bloody scary as I recall.

capedcrusader25 · 02/08/2012 15:27

Oh horsey so glad you're ok!! Plenty of rest and tlc for you!
valium what a pain our employers can be. I remember when I broke my arm the school forgot to inform the county I'd returned to work so I worked with half to no pay for about a month before my pay check came and I could see what had happened?! Stupid idiots.
Afraid I can't offer anything re the pet issues. I'm allergic to anything furry so we don't and won't be having any :(

ValiumQueen · 02/08/2012 15:38

Gosh horsey >. Getting the chest X-ray must have been challenging. It was bad enough with my foot. So glad it was not a PE. I am surprised they did not give you antibiotics anyway. Do please make sure you stay off work and rest until you are better. With DD2 I had a chest infection that took three courses of antibiotics to sort, and I tried to work through it initially, thus making it a whole lot worse. Anyone watching the live birth thread? 33wks with twins. Gripping stuff.

ValiumQueen · 02/08/2012 15:38

I hate cats, so you would not want to hear my solution.

MadamGazelleIsMyMum · 02/08/2012 15:44

Stuntnun sorry to hear about the redundancy, and hope things work out. Might be worth seeing if any local solicitors will give you half an hour of free advice?

Valium thanks for your support on my toddler-eats-washing-powder-thread! She's fine.

Need to work out what to do with rooms. We have three bedrooms, ours, a spare room (where DH increasingly sleeps as he works late and I dont like sharing anymore) and the third room which has DSD's single bed and DD's cot bed. It would make sense for the spare room to become the baby's room, but I have family living far away and we have visitors a lot. Hmmm. May have to invest in bunkbeds and have all the children in one room eventually. DD went into her own room at 5 weeks old, so not sure I want the baby in with me until he can go into a room with his sisters and not disturb them!

Also - is anyone else suffering from an aversion to the way their partner smells? In previous pregnancies, any deoderant/aftershave/showergel I could smell on DH made me puke, throughout the pregnancy. In this one I am not puking, and can tolerate the deoderant etc this time, but have a general aversion to his smell! He isnt smelly but I am finding myself really struggling with his smell. Am I odd?

MadamGazelleIsMyMum · 02/08/2012 15:46

previous pregnancies previous pregnancy.

horseylady · 02/08/2012 15:51

No it was fine, stand and snap. The dose is quite low on chest xrays (she says having told the radiographer 5 times you do know I'm pregnant don't you?! The joys of working in the nhs) but appreciate they treat it as an emergency, even though my only symptom was shortness of breath and a cough !

Anyway all ok on clotting front so very relieved!! Just hope the infection goes. Supposed to be at the Olympics again tomorrow!!

ValiumQueen · 02/08/2012 15:56

madame so glad she is ok. I got a bit protective of my bump buddy when they said about you fucking around on MN I bet she has lovely clean teeth now, and is she farting bubbles? Grin

I can't say I feel any different about DH and his smell. He smells as bad as he usually does.

ValiumQueen · 02/08/2012 15:57

Breathing is quite high up there in the important-to-life things though innit? Grin

horseylady · 02/08/2012 16:01

Yeah lol it is. As I said I'd rather them be over cautious that not but still didn't stop my tears!!

What's the live thread thing?

ValiumQueen · 02/08/2012 16:06

It is in chat. 33wks pg back pain vomiting etc. cannot link sorry, but should be in active convos. Troll hunting going on at the moment. Better than Jeremy Kyle.

misslaughalot · 02/08/2012 16:13

Ooh, the 33 wk thread is about to be deleted. Apparently some people have too much time on their hands...

ValiumQueen · 02/08/2012 16:14

A troll apparently. My first live birth thread too. On well.

Thechick · 02/08/2012 16:18

The live birth threads are a little bit addictive. There was one I was following in childbirth about a month ago, couldn't stop checking it out. You said this one is in chat??

TitsalinaBumSquash · 02/08/2012 16:19

So are any of you planning a live birth thread? Grin

I'm pretty sure DP would kill me if I spent my labour on MN.

ValiumQueen · 02/08/2012 16:21

Not sure an ELCS would be quite so gripping.

TitsalinaBumSquash · 02/08/2012 16:22

Oh I don't know VQ you could get the surgeon to pause every do often to update us Grin
