I plan to message/email a close friend who recently had a stillborn baby :( I had a friend who knew we were TTC with difficulty. She feel pregnant with DC2 unexpectedly (PCOS and very irregular cycles) she messaged me to tell me before she went public. She was very sensitive and like always suggested said she understood if I needed space and to minimise contact for a bit. That meant I took her pregnancy announcement far better than most particularly the one where I shouted expletives!

Hi all, can I join in please? Had BFP earlier this wk and been on bit of an emotional rollercoaster since then! We weren't ttc but went on hols last mth and got 'carried away' more often than usual (have to admit prob a fifty shades baby cringe) and now expecting dc3. Already have dd5 and dd who was 3 today. Dh freaked out wen I told him and walked out. After the shock sunk in, he's now happy and excited as I am.

Had spotting Fri which has been on/off since so got an early scan booked for Thurs. Only came across this msg board while googlin for reassurance tht its normal and afta reading thru the posts (took me a while!) It seems I'm not the only with this worry!

So symptoms...indigestion, unbelievable bloating which I can't remember with the other 2, nausea, headaches, stuffed up nose, loss of appetite...all fun but reassuring stuff. Hope you ladies are not feelin too ill and can enjoy the amazing journey!

enjay0811 · 26/08/2012 22:37

Oh and 6+3 I think!

bunnygirl80 · 26/08/2012 22:47

mrssimpkins glad you had a good holiday. I have a friend who had to terminate her pregnancy at 22 weeks due to severe abnormalities just coming up to 2 months ago. I also work with her, so she doesn't have much chance of avoiding me over the next few months. I told her a couple of weeks after my bfp as I'd had to tell the practice manager, and I didn't want to risk her finding out through the grapevine. I told her at the end of the day, so she was heading straight home afterwards, rather than having to put on a brave face for the whole day if she was upset. In the end she's been nothing but delighted for me to my face (although I obviously don't know how she feels behind closed doors) and I'm just making in effort now to not go on about it all the time. I only mention the pg if she asks me how it's going, and try not to moan too much about sickness etc, as I know she'd give anything to still be pg at the moment.

blondecat I thought I recognized your name. Hope the spotting turns out to be nothing.

Congratulations to all the new bfps

I have felt awful all weekend, constantly nauseous and so so tired. Not helped by DS deciding 4:30am is a good time to start the day. DH has some sort of total inability to get up and deal with him before 8am so I was left to do it all. Had a massive row with DH over it yesterday, as I told him in no uncertain terms that I can't continue like this at the moment, and that I'm not going to be able to deal with early rising toddler and night waking newborn on my own when April rolls around. DH promised he'd get up with him this morning, so of course DS slept until 7

MrsSimkins · 26/08/2012 23:00

alwayshopeful and havealittlefaith thankyou so much for that. I realise i'm very lucky to have not been in their situation so hearing how someone who can relate would want to be told is really so helpful.
i'll tell them each face to face and offer to keep my distance if they want. Honesty is best i suppose, thanks again ladies xxx

and congratz enjay welcome to the club xxx

thanks bunnygirl x

Welcome and congratulations to all the new joiners! Kniting and Mama hugest congratulations on your little miracles.

Growyourown, I can relate to what you've been through. Each day a have new worries and it seems like forever until viability scan let alone until the 12 week scan. Positive thinking is the only way I'm staying sane.

I'm still batting for team no symptoms. I am very bloated but then I've been stuffing my face this weekend as we have family down. Also had those deep aching pains which I find very unsettling especially so early on but relieved to know little bean is in the right spot and it's not an ectopic.

Sorry for reposting. Tried to correct how far along I am and ended up reposting the whole thing Blush

ratbagcatbag · 27/08/2012 09:11

Hi ladies

Just wanted to pop on and say hi to all the newbies. I'm
Sat in a caravan right now listening to driving rain and howling rain. Not much stuff happening today with DH and the kids (who are 14).

I'm really pleased as 9+0 today do counting down the more dangerous days in my head.

:)

angeltattoo · 27/08/2012 09:31

Spotting for me this morning after a few weeks of no spotting at all SadSadSad

Scan at 6pm, hope all is ok.

Also not too sick this morning, but have teenage sink again despite being 30!

Lola06 · 27/08/2012 11:39

angel keeping fingers crossed that your scan goes well. I've heard that spotting is usually fine, if it becomes heavier than that it's more worrisome. Please let us know how it goes.

Back from friends wedding yesterday and had to pretend my cokes had rum in them to friends. Can't wait until we can start to tell people and not have to make excuses up.

Booking in app next Monday and 12 week scan next Wednesday (even though i'll only be 10 weeks) Can't wait to see if everything is ok as I'm also in team no symptoms!

Lola06 · 27/08/2012 11:39

Agh, sorry forgot

Hello & Congrats to all the newbies! April is a wonderful time to have a baby, my DD was born on 23.04.2011, St George's Day.

A particular hello to whoever had an ectopic pregnancy late last year, sorry, terrible with names! I had a ectopic in May 2010 & my left tube removed. I am lucky enough to have conceived both my pregnancies effortlessly with just the one tube.

I have had a busy weekend doing the flowers for two friends civil ceremony. Lots of work but I was so proud of the result.

Feeling OK, intermittent nausea & tired. Also very bloated & definately look pregnant towards the end of the day!

angel good luck for scan.

8+1

growyourown77 · 27/08/2012 12:14

teapig - glad you've got the reassurance of knowing it's in the right place too!

mrssmkins - while I was just starting to TTC again after my ectopic I had a friend (who knew what I had been through and had been supportive) rush up to me at an event we were all meeting at and announced her BFP loudly with a big 'hurrah for me' without even saying hello. I was on AF and we were really disappointed about no BFP and it was really hard to keep from crying all day. So just pick a sensitive time as well as approaching it after you've asked how they are first, just in case you walk into feelings of their that you don't know about. I'm sure you'll be fine though, as you're thinking about being sensitive in the first place. :)

AFM - I'm mainly super tired and sensitive to smells, especially overripe bananas (eugh!). My twinges and backache have become less bothersome by doing light yoga (no twists) and other exercise.

Holding my nerve ok so far until 6 week scan on 5th..

Welcome and congrats to other newbies.

Xx

MrsTwinks · 27/08/2012 12:28

better take me off the stats. Been to A&E, bleeding is worse and hormone levels kaput :( they aren't even bothering send me to the EPAU

HaveALittleFaith · 27/08/2012 12:31

Oh MrsTwinks I'm so sorry to hear that :(

Lola06 · 27/08/2012 12:32

mrstwinks that's awful, I'm so sorry to hear that. Hope you've got someone there to look after you. X

MrsTwinks · 27/08/2012 13:12

thanks DH is looking after me. it was horrible, the dr was so nasty, implied that made up being pregnant (did i test, how many times etc.. 3 times thanks!) asked me the same question twice when taking my history.Left A&E feeling it was my fault :(

alwayshopeful13 · 27/08/2012 13:13

So sorry MrsTwinks - thinking of you. xx

NotShortImFunSized · 27/08/2012 13:27

Oh MrsTwinks I am so, so sorry Sad

Hard I know but ignore the idiot doctor. It is not your fault. Some people have no idea how to actually relate to others in a compassionate way.

I'm glad you have DH to take care of you. Go easy on yourself and get some rest.

Thinking of you and DH x x

enjay0811 · 27/08/2012 13:56

So sorry MrsTwinks, thinking of you Sad x

growyourown77 · 27/08/2012 14:15

MrsTwinks i'm so sorry to hear your sad news. That doctor is so symptomatic of how the NHS is not self-aware when it comes to pregnancy loss. Ignore what the doc said, all that matters is how you and DH feel.

Glad DH is being good. Take care of yourself and go at your own pace.

Hugs to you both.

ZoeRowe · 27/08/2012 15:08
