HaveALittleFaith · 23/08/2012 22:48

Wow this thread moves fast! I still can't quite take it in but aside from the BFPs I've never had a 35 day cycle so I'm starting to believe it! I saw my GP today who has got me booked in for my first ante-natal midwife appointment. Girl on reception said Congratulations and I was Grin I am fat though ok obese so I am going for blood tests and urine sample dropping off tomorrow because the GP wants to keep an eye on me. I have lost half a stone in the last month so I'm hoping not to gain tonnes in this pregnancy.

4+5

HaveALittleFaith · 23/08/2012 22:48

Wait no 4+6!

bunnygirl80 · 24/08/2012 00:12

zeebee fingers crossed for you

I'm so bloated I've resorted to the hair bobble trick for securing my trousers. Every evening my belly looks so swollen I think I must have my dates wrong and actually be 6 months pregnant with twins Grin. It's always gone down again by morning though, so is definitely gas

damnitdamnit · 24/08/2012 08:33

Hi all, once again the thread has gone up about 100 posts since I last looked and I have only had chance to go over the last couple of pages. My DD's only manage to play together nicely for about 5 mins.

Zeebee fingers crossed you get good news, am thinking about you,

HaveALittleFaith I have been doing slimming world since my miscarriage in May (something to keep my mind off things) and have lost 1 1/2 stone, still need to loose another 2 so also hoping not to pile it all back on through this pregnancy.

I am 9 + 2 today (I think) and have my booking appointment with midwife this morning.

No symptoms really, Ivan feeling tired but j think that's just the school holidays Grin looking forward to going back to work in September.

damnitdamnit · 24/08/2012 08:35

*ivan ??? - think I meant apart from. Stupid phone!

EssexWelsh · 24/08/2012 08:37

Morning ladies. Right I want to tentatively ask you ladies about whispers like a school girl sex.

Who is, who isn't, will an orgasm on an already tender cervix make it bleed?

Me-not at all, not allowed poor DP near since we found out, last time, did it twice in a week, I had two bright red bleeds after I again giggles came, then mc the week after, could be unrelated, but am soooo nervous about it happening again? Can't even be a giving partner with my current tender gag and sickness feelings-what to do??

Thoughts?

MrsTwinks · 24/08/2012 08:52

Not risking it yet Essex, had a couple of times insanely late/emc so not going to tempt fate. Also just way too bloody tired!

HaveALittleFaith · 24/08/2012 09:05

DH is scared he'll damage the baby! He's barely come near me! I am trying to persuaded him it's ok.... :)

damnitdamnit · 24/08/2012 09:11

Not here either, too scared after miscarriage.

Teapig · 24/08/2012 09:33

Same here on the sex front, too scared. Although we didn't have any last time after we found as too nervous of an mc and I still mc'ed so part of me thinks we shouldn't worry.

Just got out of the doctors and he has referred me to the EPU this afternoon due to pain I'm having in lower abdomen. So scared it's ectopic or something else is wrong. DH is up in Manchester bringing his dad down to stay with us so I have to go on my own which I don't mind but I'm so nervous. Not sure if they'll scan me as I'm only just over 5 weeks. Wish me luck.

aufaniae · 24/08/2012 09:56

Teapig keeping fingers crossed for you xx

kellestar · 24/08/2012 10:12

Nausea is pretty evil this morning. I went to bed early last night and DH played with DD and the house looks a mess, but too tired/nauseaous to do anything about it.

Booking in appt for 10 Sept but sending off paperwork for scan which should come through in the same week.

I have told a close friend and DH (obv) but it's really hard not to tell anyone else. But the family all gossip so can't be trusted.

Havealittlefaith I am rather a fair amount overweight, was with DD too. Last time I didn't gain any weight as my cravings were fruit. cake and chocolate tasted vile, so after I had DD I was 2st lighter, but put most of that back on. Hope I don't gain this time, apart from healthy baby growth. Grin

JessieEssex · 24/08/2012 10:13

Good luck teapig.

We have been having sex, but definitely not as 'vigorously' as usual Blush

I mc'ed last time at 9 weeks so this week is going to be hard for me but I'm trying the 'assume everything's going to be fine' approach. It's all a front really, I'm terrified Sad

8+2...

alwayshopeful13 · 24/08/2012 10:23

Same here on the sex front - I'm too nervous given mc last time so we're waiting until 12wk scan by when hopefully everything will be ok. DH understands though he is gagging for it finding the wait rather difficult :-) So two reasons to be counting the days!!

Good luck today teapig

alwayshopeful13 · 24/08/2012 10:26

Oops - 6 + 0

aufaniae · 24/08/2012 10:34

It didn't even occur to me that sex might bring on mc. Can it?!

BonaDea · 24/08/2012 10:35

teapig - I have absolutely no symptoms whatsoever, apart from a slight bloating in my stomach. No nausea, no real tiredness, nothing. I'm 7+6

I'm in the lucky position of having had 2 early scans already though (one as standard because I am in a high risk category due to a medical condition and one because of some very light spotting) and everything is FINE. I spoke to my mum who confirmed she was exactly the same when pregnant - felt jsut the same as usual the whole way through.

I know it is tricky because at least with morning sickness you are in some way assured that everything is going as it should be. But I think all things considered, we should look on the bright side and hope it lasts. Wink

alwayshopeful13 · 24/08/2012 11:13

aufaniae on the question of whether sex increases risk of miscarriage - from what I've read (admittedly not a systematic review of decent research - just googling!) I suspect that answer is generally no. I guess being realistic if something isn't right from the off and mc is a risk then having sex or not probably isn't going to change the likely outcome.

But obv we usually never find out the reason for a mc, and my GP said that it if it was something that was worrying me (which it is!), then holding off on bedroom gymnastics for the first 12 weeks would do any harm. Not sure if she's being overly cautious in reaction to me or whether there is some evidence she's aware of that I've not seen, but in any case I'm erring on the side of caution - at least until we have early scan next week!

Caladria · 24/08/2012 11:38

Hi. Er, may I join? 7+4 and have only told DP. Don't believe it yet.

aufaniae · 24/08/2012 12:10

Thanks for the reply alwayshopeful I think as no other bad signs we'll continue with the "bedroom gymnastics" :)

However EssexWelsh if I'd had the experience you'd had I know I'd find it really hard not to be very cautious.

aufaniae · 24/08/2012 12:12

Congratulations Caladria Grin Grin

Doesn't seem real to me yet either and I've told anyone who'll listen!
I reckon the scan will make it feel more real.

SneezySnatcher · 24/08/2012 13:21

Hello all and welcome to the newly-upduffed!

A bit annoyed today. I went to the doc two weeks ago who told me I'd hear from the MW. Hadn't heard anything so thought I'd ring them today to see if I'd definitely been referred - I hadn't! They seemed a bit clueless and didn't know what to do or who to ring!

Called hospital (as surgery didn't do it) and I've been referred now but I won't see anyone for at least two weeks. According to LMP I'm 8+1 today, although I think more likely 7ish. I saw a MW at 8 weeks with DD plus I'm abxious I'll be high-risk after developing PE last time.

I'm a teacher and was hoping to have the long booking appointment before I go back to work but it seems unlikely now. Really annoyed with my surgery but sadly not surprised. Last month I went for a smear and they told me I wasn't registered, despite going there for six years!

Just updated the list but not sure if I got the most recent one?

Went for scan this morning and got a heartbeat! Only 6w 2d so even earlier than I thought and there wasn't much to see. Had to have an internal scan, but there's a heartbeat and I have a due date!

6+2

spidermanspiderman · 24/08/2012 15:37

Everything has changed here since I had dd (she is only 2.5). Went to gp and was given a card with a no on to call me myself. Apparently gp won't see me again now till approx 24 weeks - although she changed her mind as soon as she remembered that I have to go on antibiotics when pregnant as I am really prone to them (esp when pregnant).

Can't believe how few appointments (little contact) I will have with everyone this time.
